Pre 2013 the pub used…read moreto have a very warm friendly atmosphere which catered for all ages and offered the best food in its quiet restaurant section. Now however the new owners target demographic seems to be the football loving lager lover aged 18-30. Food quality has suffered and many of it original/local customers are choosing to drink and dine elsewhere.

I went to a Christening in Washingborough yesterday; after the service our friends had booked a…read morebuffet for 50 people at the Ferry Boat Inn; with everyone outside the pub there appeared to be no life inside. Our friends called the landlord to be told the pub wasn't open due to a plumbing problem. As you can imagine it ruined the day for our friends and otherwise people had not eaten with the expectation of a buffet. Our friends had telephoned the day before to confirm the booking arrangement but were not told of any issues. A quick fix was for everyone to go to the nearby Hunters pub where all were welcomed and the Christening cake was cut and distributed; unfortunately no food was available, but at least we had somewhere to go. Poor manners, poor attittude, lack of responsibility and for the only people i have met that have been to the pub when the doors were open i was told the new management were serving poor beer in dirty conditions. The sooner the occupants are ousted, the sooner someone can recreate a traditional village pub.
