Then 1 min. later I got to see my 3D scan on a big TV, while Dr. Hunter moved the 3D image around, explaining what he was looking at, what was good, what was a nerve/bone/root etc. He was very informative. I was included in the evaluation process. Plus, they gave me a CD copy of the scan, that my dentist could look at too. Love this place. Totally trust Dr. Hunters judgement. A month later I had to have the tooth pulled. First one ever. I take good care of my teeth and spend close to $5000.00 trying to saving this one. When the new endo examined it, he told me that it had degraded so much he could see the gutta percha, (the filling material). Then everything made sense. I am extremely allergic to latex, which is what gutta percha is, rubber. When the first root canal was done she went through the root tip and then packed in the gutta percha which came in contact with my tissue. Pain and inflammation were the allergic reaction! I could have kept my tooth and a lot of time and money if the first one had been done correctly. My original review stands. Run don't walk away from these people.

The office is in a sort of mini strip mall of dental offices so be sure to pay attention to the signs or you'll end up in the wrong one, haha. The office is very clean and the lounge area is calming, which makes you feel better instantly as oral surgery can be quite nerve-wracking. I was greeted by the friendly receptionists upon arrival. They checked me in and I was called back shortly after. I had an appointment this morning for my wisdom teeth extraction - I elected to have all four pulled out. I was in and out of the office in 40 minutes! The first 15 minutes or so was spent taking my vitals and numbing my gums (I chose to only do local anesthesia). The next 25 minutes was the extraction. I highly recommend Dr. Todd Gerlach, DDS! He has wonderful "chair-side manners" and will explain what he's doing every step of the way. He's polite and makes sure you're well taken care of. I can't remember his hygienist's name but she was wonderful as well! She prepped me for the extraction and gave thorough post-operative instructions. I hope to not come back for oral surgery again but if I do, I hope he's the one to take care of me!

My only complaint is because, I've been to a Prosthodontist and a dentist, who says I don't need surgery for new dentures. As a matter of fact, I have had dentures made. The problem is, I can't wear them. That was another Medicaid paid dentist. Finally, Family Smiles told me, if I don't have the surgery, then they won't make my dentures. My state paid dental insurance, DentaQuest would not pay for my surgery. Yet that dental practice made a denture and partial, for my husband, who also, Dr. Vellejo said, needed surgery also. The day he went in for extractions, he was told he also was to have that surgery. He asked how much that would cost. He was told $588, which he, promptly, told them he couldn't pay that. Dr. Vellejo extracted his teeth anyway, and did a great job. My husband barely had any pain and healed quickly. By the way, the upper denture, were crafted for his situation. And the partial fits him perfectly. By the way that the denture dips on one side, I can tell, as a long time denture wearer, it is excellent. Why they couldn't or wouldn't do that for me, I have no idea. Something seems fishy. I'm going to another Prosthodontist, whom I will be paying to get his professional opinion as to whether I need surgery or not. I'm beginning to think that Medicaid paid dentists are not all that great as I've had some harrowing experiences with their practices. It took two years for my jaws to stop hurting, after going to one seven years ago. The dental assistant pushed down so hard on my gums, I heard and felt the pain of my jaw pop. This last one put hard reline material in my mouth, with my new dentures. It burned the whole time and it took hours to get that taste out of my mouth. A week later, and the dentures still smell like it did then. Hence, I'm going to do what I can to pay for my own dentures. I'm fed up with second grade treatment.

I offered to pay cash with my discount plan and said they didn't need to use the insurance at all. They told me that would be fraud. I asked them to escalate it to the manager -- they said they would, but the manager never contacted me. They also haven't sent any written explanation for refusing service as per my request. This is incredibly unprofessional and left me hanging during a real emergency. Do not go here.

I should have paid attention!…read more Scheduled an appointment for a consult with Dr. Beasley - three weeks out in the middle of the day, as I was told they have very limited consult appointments. Got there early today only to find out I wasn't on the schedule and they were full and couldn't see me. The doctors may be great, but I left a different Metro Dental location due to incompetent reception/scheduling staff. I'm not putting up with that frustration again and will be taking my specialty dental needs elsewhere. I'd urge you to do the same!
