Whilst many of the goods aren't that cheap the entry level goods here are still of very high quality and unless you really want to treat your taste buds should suffice. I've recently purchased a sous vide machine so anything that can be slow cooked for hours is going from Crombie's butcher straight into my machine for hours on end. One thing, it's expensive compared to what you'd get from the grocery stores. I've found the quality to be way better but be warned- it might put a dent in your wallet. There are many different varieties to choose from and they range from the traditional (pork, chipolatas, Scotch beef) to the exotic (boar, pork and stilton is an inspired and tasty combination). Asides from sausages, they do the usual butcher cuts of meat (steaks, lamb etc) and meals for you to heat at home if you can't be bothered cooking. Not ideal when about to cross the pond and hit humidity and bare casper the friendly ghost pale skin to the world, but sometimes comfort grub is just what a girl needs. Mince and tatties was on the agenda so a wander to the butchers was in order. A lovely, bright clean shop, friendly staff with some amazing looking meat. There was so much temptation and some purchases were made as well as the mince. Got to love a shop which makes you buy more than you want, even if it is butcher meat rather than pretty dresses. The mince was great. Proper beef mince and there was virtually no fat running out of it as it cooked. It looked and tasted great and as a result I'm off buying supermarket meat and sticking with my local butchers. Well worth a visit for food that tastes as it should :-)

I like their Shan spice packets costing around 70p. There are beans, pulses, different variety flours (use in Asian cooking), pickles, curry pastes, chutneys and range of spices. Frozen vegetables, various varieties of frozen fish kebabs and burgers also available. Their prices are low as compared to other Asian stores. It is great place for Asian, African and Arabic stuff and also great for bargains.
