So the first thing we did was buy a humane trap to see if we could catch him and then release him! Well we caught our Neighbors cat, and a raccoon, both solid catches, but the ground hog still was laughing in our face, so we hired Critter Control to humanely catch him. Wade from Critter Control gave us some tips, and set out some humane traps, he was great about working with our schedules and came back to check traps often and came right away once we had caught...... wait for it... a possum! Oh well we think our ground hog is gone, and we have sealed up his former home, but if he comes back it's nice to know we can call Wade and he can humanely catch something!

I called Orkin, wound up with a outrageous costly contract. 1st so called treatment took me for $179. & change. Ants are still thriving even more so. Spiders, still hanging around. Call a professional like Bobcat Wildlife & Pest Management Husband and I had a nest of dead birds in an exterior vent causing a terrible odor in our bathroom. We called Riley at Southern Iowa Critter Catcher. We were very happy he arrived in a matter of hours but that's where the professionalism ended. Not sure if his website is AI generated but he either doesn't know what's on it or doesn't care. There are SEVERAL pages dedicated to educating customers that wildlife "removal, cleanup, and prevention" should be dealt with professionally and states his business uses a team of experts that are trained, equipped, and trusted to perform those duties with each house call. After inquiring MULTIPLE times about not receiving services that he markets as standard procedure, he refused to acknowledge it. I suggested he revise his misleading online material to prevent future unsatisfied customers and I just hope he takes the advice. I wouldn't work with him again. -On a ladder, he used a brush on a drill to remove the nest/dead birds which propelled nest debris/feathers/dead birds down to our rock garden, in our grass, and onto our AC unit and he used his bare hands to remove what was left in the vent. When I asked if he was going to clean it up he said "I usually don't. I would have to take it to a special dumping site. You can just put it in your trash." - Thankfully we had gloves since he left us to pick up and dispose of the scattered remains despite his website asserting the expectation that he would carry out the handling of dead/unsanitary material (that's why we called him in the first place) -He didn't clean or sanitize any portion of the vent/dirty flaps/house siding even though his website says it's included -We requested preventative cage coverings on 2 vents. He held one up and said "it would look funny" and wouldn't install them (Bobcat Wildlife installed them later) -He said all he could do was place small mesh pieces inside the vent flaps with nothing to hold it in place. I asked if animals could push through it since it wasn't secured and he just said "it should work" (Bobcat Wildlife informed us that wasn't to code on a dryer vent and can cause a fire! and animals CAN get through) -When I asked about cage prices he said they were "only 10 bucks and the mesh pieces are about the same" but he charged us $82 each -He didn't perform services we expected/requested so I thought cost would be lower. He quoted prices that didn't align with his website, I asked about that, he just asked if I was looking at the correct site. Later in emails he said "as far as pricing and such I personally set that and can change how I the business owner sees fit if thats an increase or decrease thats up to me" -His site states "24/7 Availability" and in our initial phone call he offered to come over the same afternoon but later in emails complained saying he left his family to deal with our problem -The website says "Guaranteed Customer Satisfaction" and "clear communication" but in emails he was dismissive, sarcastic, refused to address concerns, acted as if he gave us a great deal, never once apologized or tried to correct the situation in any way, and by the end of the correspondence he had become dishonest about our interactions. We paid a LOT of money for them to get rid of our bats in the attic. I asked many questions up…read morefront including how everything would look once it was sealed up. There were four peaks with holes in them where bats were accessing our house. So they came, installed the cone doors, slopped a bunch of caulk all over our brick house and some foam rolls, and punched holes in our BRAND NEW trim without asking our permission. I was appalled we paid so much money for something we could've done at cost of supplies, which apparently all we needed were the doors, caulk, and foam rolls. The job was not complete (the cone doors needed removed in a couple months), but they sent us a bill regardless and expected payment after the cone door installation. I once again questioned that it would look nice when they were done and they reassured me it would. Fast forward to FOUR MONTHS later, and I've called twice to see when they're coming to finish the job. They finally come while we were gone at work. We come home to find the foam rolls still attached, a messy caulk job, and the holes in our trim not filled in. Stupid me thought they were going to use actual materials to fill in the gaps between the bricks like, I don't know, mortar?! The peaks of our house look terrible and sloppy. And now we are going to have to pay more money for a mason to come, dig all the foam and caulk out, and repair it the way it should've been done. We were rooked. Don't be like us.
