Any correspondence I had through email or by phone with the front desk was polite, prompt, and very professional. During the consultation, I was greeted very warmly by the woman at the front desk. I appreciated that her demeanor seemed very sincere (not the forced friendliness some try to put on). The X-ray technician was very courteous and gentle, explaining each step she took. Dr. Meneshian, who I met for the first time, was very friendly and professional. I appreciated that he spoke very thoroughly and patiently and not in a sterile, but in a very human manner. I knew immediately I wanted to be in his care for my first invasive dental procedure. On the day of my actual wisdom tooth removal, it went very smoothly. Every staff member was very courteous and put me at ease. The atmosphere was very calm, had good energy, and everything was handled in a timely manner. The surgeon's assistant was very pleasant and also guided me through every movement. Dr. Meneshian was just as pleasant as during the consultation. After the procedure, which went well, he reached out to make sure I was comfortable, which I was. I am very happy I opted for this practice and such a skilled, lovely oral surgeon and staff. I can't recommend them enough and wish any prospective patient the same consideration and positive experience I was fortunate to have.

I just left this place feeling really uncomfortable, and totally turned off…read more I've been here before. Came in for a cleaning. Hygenist did a great job, fantastic cleaning and x-rays. Showed me exactly what is wrong with my teeth. Dr. Volk also came in, explained what I needed, and I actually agree that the treatment plan makes sense. Then I'm just left there in the chair, and then the treatment plan person comes in. I thought that it would be an estimate that I could review at home and make financial decisions over. She asks me to come into her office, I said I needed to get back to work (as I just set aside time for the appointment) she keeps talking and then says she needs to talk to Dr Volk. I wait some more. She comes up front and then asks me to come into her office anyway because 'something changed'. I let her explain for a few minutes, understand the thought process, and said that I need to digest it, but that I do take it seriously and need to check my insurance, etc. I also said that I need to get back to work. She keeps talking, saying 'lets do the cavities, etc' I said that will probably be my plan, but I need to check my finances, insurance, etc and make a plan - they are handing me an 8000 dollar treatment plan. Only after I asserted myself more (that I needed to return to work) that she relented. This literally was high-pressure used car salesman like tactics. It ruined an otherwise good experience with the hygenist and Dr Volk. I understand the urgency of the work - thats not the problem. The problem is that this office left me totally uncomfortable today. I expect that from a used car salesman, and I go in prepared for it. But not from my dentist. I even recommended them to my wife. This really stinks.

East Hills Endodontics -- Honest, Skilled, and Truly Caring!…read moreI went to East Hills Endodontics in Roslyn Heights for a consultation, fully expecting to hear that I'd need a second root canal -- or even worse, an extraction. I was anxious, but the moment I arrived, Christina and Lynne at the front desk made me feel completely at ease with their warm welcome and professionalism. Dr. Roxene Gascoigne was absolutely amazing. She took the time to listen to my concerns and carefully reviewed my case using her state-of-the-art radiology equipment. To my absolute relief, she discovered that what looked suspicious on earlier images wasn't an infection or a failed root canal at all -- it was simply new bone growth! I was beyond grateful for her honesty, expertise, and conservative approach. Instead of jumping straight to an unnecessary procedure, she gave me peace of mind and a clear understanding of what was really going on. A huge thank-you also to Vanessa, Dr. Gascoigne's assistant, for her kindness and support during the visit. The entire team works together beautifully and truly puts patient care first. Holy happiness, indeed! If you want an endodontist who is thorough, ethical, and exceptionally skilled, I cannot recommend Dr. Roxene Gascoigne and the team at East Hills Endodontics highly enough. I was told the process of building bones and completing a full arch dental implant procedure would take 5 months. It is now May 25, 2023 and the final top and bottom implants are not only uncomfortable but don't function well. I cannot chew hard foods and food gets stuck at the top of my gums every time I do eat. When I smile you can see the screws in one corner of my mouth where the food is getting trapped. The bottom teeth are also very small in comparison to the top and I informed the doctor that I was not happy. I was even told by Robin Greene the Treatment Coordinator that my final implants were made overseas and because of that was forced to wait 6 weeks for them to be completed which drew out an already overdrawn process! I was given no instruction or after-care paperwork and the doctors that performed the procedure and designed the implants are refusing to return my calls. When I complained about not only the lack of comfort and functionality of the final implants, I was told that what I wanted done was not what had been put in my mouth and that I would have to pay an additional $10,000 or more for that. Just to have implants that allow me to eat normally! I was never provided another option for the implants at the onset of the procedure. Please do not come here. They are dishonest and lack integrity and I will be suing very soon.

Lake Success Dental Care Edith…read more Five stars and a dentist's office sounds like an oxymoron, a contradiction, a paradox. It's like jumbo shrimp or a garbage dump that smells sweet. These things just don't make sense or don't happen...and yet, there's an exception to every rule. In this case, Lake Success Dental Care in New Hyde Park 100% fits that idea. Okay, maybe I just have a very melodramatic history with dentists. I didn't go to one for a length of time I'd rather not discuss just due to never having a legitimate dentist I trusted or felt wouldn't yell at me for lack of brushing/flossing/etc. Then my sis/mother told me about Lake Success Dental Care and I finally decided I needed to bite the bullet (preferably not before a dentist trip, tooth joke) and make an appointment (plus they accepted my insurance, so that worked). Upon entering the office building where the practice is located, I was a ball of nerves, but the nicely-decorated waiting area almost didn't feel like I was about to have people stick their hands in my mouth. Things were comfortable and welcoming, with a phone charging station available if needed. Good start. Once my name was called, the nerves rose a little more, but each employee I met was very kind and I have to say, no one even came close to wagging a finger in my direction due to dental hygiene (even if they probably should have). The dentist I saw that day, Dr. Dai, didn't emanate a great initial friendliness, but he still kept things calm in his process. From that first trip back in November to now, I've visited Lake Success Dental Care four times (one more before a break!) and they've done some great work in getting my mouth all caught up on cleanings and fillings. Each trip was more of the same: calm, welcoming, timely, and never reprimanding (a big win in my book). I also met Edith, who will process your payments before you depart. She's a big reason why I almost (dare I say) enjoy coming to the dentist. Her and the whole friendly staff has made a lasting impression on me (even Dr. Dai opened up this last time around). Two other favorable factors worth mentioning are their hours and notifications. They run crazy times for a dentist's office with nights going until 9 as well as weekend hours available both Saturday and Sunday. They honestly make it hard for you to not find a time that works (even if you try...which I might have done when making that first phone call, heh heh). Once you've got your appointment, they'll call, email, and even text to make sure don't forget when to come in. Even though I'm usually good with dates, it's still great to know when I'm approaching that dental visit (you can't escape it!) Overall, Lake Success Dental Care has turned my world around in how I perceive dentists. I'm sure there are plenty of practices that are actually formidable for those without a childhood phobia of dentistry, but if you're reading this review and fear for your next dental visit, fear no more! Lake Success Dental Care is here for comfort, friendliness, proficiency, and an all-around positive experience. So maybe five stars isn't so far fetched for a dentist. Now we have to work on that sweet-smelling garbage dump...

Extremely Disappointing Experience and Unprofessional Practices…read more I am deeply frustrated with my experience at Passes Dental Care and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere. First, they opened my tooth knowing full well that I was going on vacation in less than a week. They knew there was a high probability I would need a root canal, yet after opening my tooth, they admitted they didn't have the ability to perform it and referred me out. I was forced to pay hundreds of out of pocket for a CT scan and an emergency pulpotomy, and now I am left with a temporary filling and forced to urgently find a specialist before my trip--a stressful situation that could have been handled much better. Second, they forced me to take and pay for a new CT scan, completely ignoring the fact that I had already provided a clear, up-to-date CT scan from another provider taken just two months ago. Third, their billing practices felt very deceptive. I was initially promised a very decent credit for a routine cleaning since I reached my insurance maximum. However, after the cleaning was completed, they went back on their word and demanded almost full payment. When I tried to speak up and address this, they turned around and increased the bill to around $250. I have been a loyal patient with this practice for years, and they have earned thousands of dollars from me over time. Yet despite this history, they completely refused to offer any fee adjustments or credits for their oversight, leaving me to spend thousands more out of pocket at a specialist. Poor communication, unfair billing, and terrible scheduling management. Save yourself the headache and go to a practice that respects your loyalty, health, and money.
