I have been looking for a new dentist for a few years now. I have gone to handful and I just have not felt they were a fit. I have had a really traumatizing experience in my past with a dentist and have a lot of fear returning to get necessary dental work done. The front desk receptionist was so nice and I actually felt she was super attuned to how anxious I was which was so nice to feel someone cared. She even told me I could go on my phone because she saw how nervous I was. It's a little thing but it actually helped me a lot to focus on something else while I was waiting. Dr. Chau Vu needed to review my scans and she very matter of factly reviewed what the priority was. She also educated me about cleaning more along my gum line while she was deep cleaning my teeth which I really appreciated. I felt like she actually cared which was nice. I didn't feel judged here (it's been a while since I've been keeping up with my dental work) and they are working with my insurance to get a the pre authorization done. I feel like I'll know exactly what things will cost and that's really nice. Ultimately, I just feel like they were both attuned and that was really really refreshing. Going to the dentist used to fill me with dread because my teeth are pretty sensitive and teeth cleanings can be a painful experience. Gentle Touch Dentistry is located in a small plaza, but I've never had trouble finding a parking spot. It's located in the same plaza as Subway, Pizza Hut, and a nail salon. The waiting room has nicer seating than what I usually see at other health offices and I've never had to wait very long when I come in for my scheduled appointments (which has happened to me in the past at other dental offices). For a teeth cleaning, Laura, the dental assistant, will help you check in and prepare the necessary paperwork. She then seats you and comes in to take x-rays of your teeth. Laura is very friendly and she makes me feel comfortable when I come in for my visits. Afterwards, Dr. Vu usually comes in and she goes over any potential problems and explains what the images of my teeth show. Dr. Vu is very thorough and put my worries at ease when I first let her know about my teeth sensitivity. Now, I don't feel as apprehensive when she works on my teeth and she doesn't use her tools in an aggressive or rough manner. The teeth cleaning in total takes a little less than an hour. Overall: I can't really comment on the other services offered at this dentistry. But, I've been coming to get my teeth cleaned at Gentle Touch for many years and I've never had a problem. If you're lucky, they even give out toothbrushes for you to take home! read more

It's my first time at Gentle Touch Dentistry and the experience was great. The staffs, especially Laura, are very nice an accommodating. They are upfront and clearly explain all the procedures and costs. I had to do deep cleaning and take medications for my swelling gum. For the amount of work needed, the price was also very reasonable. Dr. Chau was very detailed and thorough when examining my teeth. She showed me the xray of my teeth, explained my problems and recommends treatments for them. The whole process was painless and comfortable. My previous dentist was always very rough and aggressive with my teeth, making me dread my annual check ups. More often than not I would leave with a mouth full of blood and aching gums, along with what was left of my dignity. So naturally, I was apprehensive about trying a new dentist, but went ahead anyway in hopes that it would live up to it's "Gentle Touch" name. And it DID! Dr. Chau made my teeth cleaning a relaxing and more importantly, pain free ordeal. When I had something a little more intensive done (teeth fillings) she constantly made sure that I was comfortable. She even offered me a blanket in case I was cold! Being able to watch tv on the flat screen was a big plus, because the sounds of suctions and drillings would have surely made me nervous. Dr. Chau always does a thorough job. I had molds of my teeth being made and she thought one of the impressions were not up to par, so she scrapped it and started over. She could have easily kept quiet and saved herself the time and energy, but she didn't. Dr. Chau is a great dentist & I look forward to my next visit!! read more

The door is locked..so i wait. Maybe they open at 11? 11 comes and 11 goes. Nobody. So I start calling....nothing. This is just bad business. My time is just as important as everyone else. I was referred to here by a friend and I couldn't be happier with the service I was provided. Laura is extremely helpful and attentive, answers all questions about procedures and follow ups, and is overall friendly and easy to talk to. Laura also tries her best to accommodate to your schedule, which is extremely helpful. Dr. Vu explains everything about what's going on with your teeth thoroughly and is up front about the cost and makes it a point to have a follow up appointment. She's also pretty quick about the work but gets the job done and she isn't aggressive at all - definitely a gentle touch. I just switched dentists from one whom I was really unhappy with for sometime. From the moment I walked in to Gentle Touch I felt important! Small office, very clean, the receptionist was very nice and patient with me while getting all my insurance stuff in order. Doctor was super thorough with my exam, she seemed like she really cared about the health of my teeth, and not rushing to just get me out of there to see more patients. I HATE the dentist. So much so I have been tramautized by past dentist as a child to the point I can no longer walk into one without taking medication such as Xanax to keep me calm. I was fearful to come to GTD at first as I am with every dentist, but overall my visit was great. They were very good with my fears and many request of how they worked to keep my fear at a minimum. The Dentist, I forget his name was very nice and constantly asked me how I was doing. I was going in for a tooth extraction. Now generally I am used to being at a dentist for hours. Leaving in a fit of tears and numb. Not here! No here the procedure (minus my asking ten minutes relaxing between each numbing shot) took a total of 5 minutes with no pain at all! GTD really does live up to its name and I can finally say I found a dentist I dont fear. read more

Where do I even start? I am so happy I found this dentist. For starters, I found this dentist along a long list of dentists from my insurance company, which I then cross-referenced on Yelp. I narrowed it down to 3 of my top choices, and Dr. Chau Vu's office was the one who could squeeze us in the earliest possible. Everything with this office has been really easy from the start. Communication has been clear, easy, and hassle-free. From making the appointment over the phone with Laura, to seeing the doctor and receiving care--they have been extremely accommodating throughout it all. The staff is small here, but they operate efficiently, and the service you receive is exceptional. They are so warm, welcoming, kind, and will literally go out of their way to make you feel comfortable in the office. My husband was the first one to be seen. He was able to not only get a full exam, but also have a cleaning in the same day. Dr. Vu has incredible attention to detail and was able to pin point areas that needed special attention that our long time dentist prior missed over the years. At first I was a little taken back, but she was patient and willing to show us proof in her diagnoses. Unlike other dentists, she did not push any of this work on us but rather informed us of what she saw. She even pointed out which were the most critical to take care of, and which we could afford to wait longer to take care of. We asked for a quote before work was done, and that was not a problem for the staff. To our surprise, for the amount of work my husband needed, the prices we were charged were very reasonable, thanks to Dr. Vu. Fortunately, there was a cancelation in appointment, so we were able to get some of the work taken care of that day. The dental work itself (according to my husband) was comfortable but efficient. He was so comfortable that he actually fell asleep the second time he came in. :) Dr. Vu took her time and we did not feel rushed. She split the work in two days just to ensure she did the work well. Laura and the doctor even gave my husband a remote control so he could watch TV as he was getting worked on. As for myself, I have a health situation that restricts me from certain dental work at the moment. Dr. Vu was very professional and consulted my doctor to ensure that I received the best care. While it was inconvenient that my doctor recommended postponing the dental work, Dr. Vu was completely understanding and simply wanted what was in my best interest for my health. Both Laura and Dr. Vu were even kind enough to help me out with some other general questions and concerns that I had about insurance, aside from dental coverage. While I've only known this office for a week, I can't say enough great things about them. You can definitely tell that they really care. Dr. Vu and Laura are so down-to-earth and kind. They really make you feel like family, and are willing to help however they can. The office seems steadily busy, but not over-booked or stretched-thin like many other dental offices. For this reason, this dental office feels like a complete gem... Quality care, quick to get appointments, gentle dentist, reasonably priced, NO-hassle/sales push, and some amazing staff too. It's just perfect. A couple of quick tips: For some reason, the location of the office did not appear in Waze. Be careful if you use Waze, because it will send you to the Anaheim Plaza (500 Euclid), when this office is located at (500 South Euclid). Instead, look up the Subway located at 500 S. Euclid and you should be able to find it. The office is located next door to the nail salon. As of 04/13/18: Dr. Vu is currently available only on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays--hopefully that works with your schedule because she's worth it! :) read more
