Ahhhhh, yep! That's the spot…read more Adele, all English and sweet, with her high pitched but calming voice, really does know how to hurt you. I found her as I was walking in Maroubra and saw a sign for massage. She had a little room at the top of a studio that specialised in wrestling. I walked past the weird dudes sweating, grunting and rolling around the floor like 3yr olds, and up the stairs I went, to a haven of relaxation. Beautiful music was playing, the lights low and that yummy burning oil smell that only professionals get right. I lay down on the expertly arranged towel system and let my head hang. WOW, does this woman know her stuff. I should have guessed from the pictures of the anatomy on the walls and the "really big" books on the shelf. She asked if everything was to my liking and I owned up to the fact that I hate the meditation music with a voice in it. It makes me feel like there are three people in the room, not two. She swiftly changed it and her magic hands got back to the job. It's magic because she knows exactly where my ailments lie. She proceeded to tell me about these parts and how they were affecting my body and man, could I feel her fixing me! She fell silent and I fell into a deep bliss. I go to her regularly now and every time there is the beautiful music playing, sans voice. I recommend her to many. Perhaps that is why you have to book about a week in advance and she has taken over the whole studio and turned it into a yoga and health hub? No more climbing over sweaty men to get to heaven. Delight!

My muscles were so sore that I could hardly walk today. After Googling Massage Therapists nearby my Elizabeth Bay Road Airbnb, I reviewed several that were in the Rushcutter's area, only a 5-10 minute walk from me. One that I found was Nelson and his website TheMassagistHealer.com. I was immediately drawn in to read more and learn about his services, philosophy and blogs that were very interesting and resonated with me. Getting massages weekly at home, I am extremely particular and it's always hit or miss when I travel. I am always so excited when I find a great masseuse and I know a great masseuse when I find one! Well, I just found one in the Elizabeth Bay Area of Sydney and his name is Nelson Velasquez. He has a very nice massage space, is very professional, has great pressure, listens to what you need & even uses high quality DoTERRA essential oils during your massage at no extra charge. This self-proclaimed massage snob highly recommends Nelson, The Massagist Healer! Go see him! Your body will thank you

But she'll work with you to target whatever problem you're having. Linda has some good techniques for the neck and back, and LuLu is a little softer (though can still dig deep into those muscles) and you tend to come out feeling very relaxed. They all seem to be genuinely interested in what's going on for you, too - especially when you go regularly. As the other reviewer noted Linda does sit at the front desk watching movies (sometimes with headphones, sometimes without), but this doesn't bother me too much. If you need silence for your massage this may not be the place for you, but if you've got a stress headache and just want it fixed these girls will sort you out.

Of course, with all that heavy breathing, and moans and groans, you could be mistaken for well, lets just say, a willing participant in a home made vid of sorts. This centre specialises in both the Kahuna and the Lomi Lomi massage - both Hawaiian style massages with the former taking on more of a spiritual approach to massage, ie, connecting us to others and to the universe (thus the breathing and the noises) and the latter focusing more on specific body parts and a lot more gentle. I have had both prior to coming here and it must be said - Sydney Ka Huna Massage is by a long shot, the best for both. The therapists first start off by asking you what you want from this massage: is it to relax? to connect with the world? to de-stress? to ground yourself etc etc .. after you dress down to your party get up and lie under the sheet, the magic then begins .. the Kahuna massage is underway ... if you aren't so used to the breathing and the noises, it may take a bit to get used to, but you will soon find yourself making those same noises you were sure you weren't going to make. They pull and bend and twist your whole body using their fingers, hands, forearms and elbows. Before you know it, you smell the burning of sage and the whole experience is over. At $110 for an hr - totally worth it !!
