The price estimate for the crown alone was $1200, no payment plan available. Since the root canal used up all my dental insurance I explained that I was going to go somewhere else more affordable for my crown, that is when the receptionist told me they could ~somehow~ drop the price down to $800, and then a payment plan was magically an option. Dr. Porter does some very good work which is why I'll give this place 3 stars, but the business kinda rubs me the wrong way and I am skeptical with how they run things with the new owners. The perception toothpaste they sell is awesome.

I saw two dentists before I fortunately came across Dr. Porter, and he's been a lifesaver. I had a large hole in my tooth that neither of the other dentists could find, and by the time I saw Dr. Porter I needed a crown. Whenever I'd had fillings done by my former dentist, I continually had to go back to have my teeth filed down and I was always in pain. Dr. Porter has done wonderful work and I have never had problems following procedures. I've had such great care from him that I followed him from Midwest Dental in Hastings to Crestridge Dental in Burnsville. I wouldn't risk having shoddy work performed by dentists like the previous ones I saw and I'd highly recommend him and his staff, as I've never had a better dentist.

I have a rare allergy, and they worked hard at making sure they didn't use the chemical. They also were very good at giving me a bio-friendly bag for the toothbrush, floss, and threaders they gave me afterward. Great work!

Dr. Sharpe noticed I had a couple other chips - 1 I knew about (when your parents tell you to not open things with your teeth - listen to them) and the other I didn't. She informed my why this was happening & we scheduled an appointment for them to be filled. The few days prior to the appointment - I had been suffering from a migraine - with its worst point causing me to call out of work and sleep all day/night. I came in - they took my blood pressure to make sure I wasn't going to die - gave me dark glasses, a blanket & a warm neck wrap. Dr. Sharpe then turned the lights in the room down/off & worked only with her headlamp light. Before starting they gave me headphones to drown out some of the noise in the office & when my lip cracked a bit - she had the assistant put chapstick on my lips. I was going to wait for a friend to grab coffee at caribou across the street - so they let me relax in their full body massage chair - I'm telling you - I've never been this relaxed at a dentist's office & I for sure haven't felt this good in a while. However, I was given "special" x-rays without any indication these would come at a cost...of $150! My insurance did not cover the x-rays, so I called them to see what they would do. Absolutely nothing. I even proposed paying half of the bill to settle the issue. After paying the full amount, I immediately started looking for a new dentist. If you decide to try Dr. Klausen's office I'd advise asking plenty of questions to make sure they don't nickel and dime you with their fancy x-rays.

The previous visit I was getting cavities filled and they had a really hard time getting my bottom numb, I could tell chad was getting frustrated but it's really out of my control. One of the hygienist finnally got it to a point where I wasn't in crazy pain. I could still feel pain but it was manageable. I went in this morning for my final round of filings and he did the top tooth with no issues and moved onto the bottom. I immediately felt shooting pain when he started the grinder I made a noise so he would stop. He checked something and then started again without saying anything or giving me another shot. Again I winced in pain and yelled out so he would stop. Instead of an apology or hey let's stop and try to get your bottom numb I was met with extreme frustration and basically suck it up we're almost done. He told me it was too hard to get me numb on the bottom and I shouldn't get any more cavities. After snapping on me and basically calling me a baby he continued to grind into me while I felt everything. At this point I just wanted to get up and leave but I was "almost done". Almost done was another who knows how long but it felt like an eternity. After he was done he asked me if I wanted to get fitted for some bleaching trays and talk about the crown I had brought up like nothing happened. I declined and said I'd just like to leave. He then asked me if I was "pissed at him" to which I finnally lost it and told him instead of making sure I was good he basically called me a bitch, blamed me and just kept going because he didn't want to spend the extra 10 mins to get me numb. I walked out and paid my bill and only then did he come out and say sorry but he still didn't admit to any wrong doing he just said sorry it hurt. They didn't offer to make it right in any way. I waited all day to post this because I figured someone from the office might reach out to me but clearly they don't care. I deal with customers on a daily basis and I would never treat a customer this way. We go to a professional because we trust them to have our best interest in mind and this morning he just wanted to rush me through and get on to the next.
