First and foremost, this is my first time being a patient at Gentle Dentistry, and I am going to be brutally honest with this review. As a first-time patient, I had never been to a dental office for a yearly cleaning and exam since July 2014. I was nervous because I always thought that maybe the dentist or dental hygienist would be brutal and judge my teeth for not keeping them as clean as possible. However, as a first-time patient and knowing a good friend whose relative is a dentist at this dental office, I finally got the courage. I took one of the biggest challenges and steps in my life and booked an appointment with them to check out any signs of damage or underlying conditions I may have had. Once I stepped into the dental office, I had many different and long conversations with the staff members, such as Kelly, Nicki, and Adrian, to slowly get to know the team and what I may expect during my visit. The staff members up at the front desk are some of the most welcoming people I have met in a long time since my last dental visit back in August-September 2023 when I went in for a consultation, X-ray (August 2023) and wisdom teeth extraction (September 2023). However, the staff members over at Gentle Dentistry were welcoming and positive. They told me that everyone is caring and non-judgmental, and they would help me receive the best dental care possible. The people who eased my anxiety the most I will say are Kelly, Adrian, Susie, and Jasmine, whereas Susie and Dr. Tong were my primary care providers for my dental cleaning and consultation. As a first-time patient, I received a special "New Patient Experience" that included a full x-ray of my teeth, a comprehensive exam, and a one-on-one Q&A with my dentist. The experience was not as intimidating as I expected. Everyone would always try to make my care as calming and relaxing as possible by offering me a blanket and a nitrous oxide mask to help ease my stress and anxiety in case I got too anxious. They also allowed me to bring a plushie during my dental cleaning, which was a thoughtful gesture that helped ease my stress and anxiety even more. During my dental appointment, I received a thorough dental cleaning done by Susie with Jasmine as her dental assistant by her side to suction up the blood, plaque, and tartar off of my teeth as Susie was using a scalar to go under each and every gum and between my teeth to scrape and clean off every gunk under my gums and between my teeth. At first, I expected the cleaning to be painful and uncomfortable because I knew that the scalar would go under my gums and between my teeth, and the feeling would be painful. As it turned out, the cleaning and scraping was not too painful at all, mainly because I was using a nitrous oxide mask to control my breathing and helping me relax during the process, so it did not bother me or I did not pay attention to what Susie and her dental assistant Jasmine did in my mouth. Overall, the dental cleaning was not too painful and brutal as I thought it would turn out, but there were times I could feel the dental scalar digging into my teeth and did not know it would poke at my gums and between my teeth countless times (mainly because of how much plaque and tartar buildup I had in my mouth as it would "hurt" more). I adore Susie so much because she was very thoughtful and mindful that I was nervous for my first every dental cleaning that I have not had in a while, so she was gentle with my cleaning throughout the entire process. As a dental assistant, Jasmine was nice and she would do a one-on-one conversation with me to distract me from being scared or anxious. She told me what to expect during my cleaning and how my teeth turned out, most positively and honestly possible. As for Dr. Tong, I had a great conversation with him after my cleaning with Susie, and he told me what he saw on the X-rays that seemed concerning to him, but also gave me a ton of advice on how to improve my oral hygiene better and discussed many of the treatment options I will have to take to improve my smile and teeth. He also allowed me to express any concerns and ask any questions regarding my dental treatment plan and how often I should visit him to maintain my teeth and improve my oral health in great detail! I would love to have them again as my primary dental care providers every time I make any future follow-ups with them to improve my smile and get a thorough and gentle cleaning done on my teeth, as well as meeting all of the staff members as much as possible because they made my first ever visit with them the best I ever had in a very long time! read more

Awful. Very classy, all the bells and whistles and totally over the top in terms of cost. They do a dozen things with all their modern tech and it's all nonsense. You will walk out of there paying 600 dollars when all you wanted was cleaning and x rays. They try to convince you that it's all very necessary and they are " so concerned" but most of what they do is unnecessary. Guess they don't make enough cleaning and x raying. So they try to fleece you, and guilt you. Better dentists are out there. Don't be taken to the cleaners. read more

I really hate to leave this review but I want to be completely honest. I'll start with the positives. The level of care they provide is amazing. I get dentist anxiety, like most, and they are so gentle (hence the name) and they also provide you with Nitrous free of charge which really calms you down. They were always so quick, the office was clean and they were all so pleasant and personable. Now with the negatives. They are EXPENSIVE! I never walked out without paying 300+ and they tell you that insurance will refund you but let's be honest when does insurance ever want to pay you back?! They were very adamant that I needed a large amount of work and referred me to another surgeon (also extremely expensive) who told me at the age of 23 that I needed a gum graft (I've consulted 2 other dentists and I definitely don't need this). They also told me that I needed numerous amount of fillings which, along with all of the surgeries they suggested, I would've been paying thousands out of pocket for. I will mention that I have since gotten better dental insurance but Gentle dentistry knew I was a college student and never offered any discounts or payment plan options, which I know many other dentists do. Like I said I really hate to write this review because the staff are all amazing and I do believe they provide a great level of care, but after going to many other dentists, it has confirmed that they are just trying to get more money out of you and are expensive for no reason! read more

I'm in the middle of getting my old composite bonding removed and replaced with porcelain veneers. I had my teeth bleached, bleach trays made, the old bonding removed and the temporary veneers put on. Next time I get the permanent veneers put on. The process so far has been much better than I had anticipated. They are truly gentle and care very much about your comfort. I was able to get some nitrous oxide so that I can relax which made all the difference for the 2+ hours I had to sit to have the old bonding removed. Later that evening, Dr. A called me on her way home to check on me. The entire staff and especially Dr A have a way of making you feel like you are their only patient. I can't wait to see my new teeth! They are absolute perfectionists and I know it's going to look amazing! read more

7 AM is not the most fun time to wake up and get your teeth cleaned and examined, however, Dr. A and her amazing staff, especially Joey my hygienist, made it very bearable and comfortable. I *gently* nudged him about going to the dentist after a few months of living with him and he picked GD after noticing their sign regularly on way to work. No, I wasn't late, like I said, I was hour early. She didn't say, let me see if I can slip you in or I can rebook you; nothing of the sort. I have been seeing Dr. A and her staff for about 5 years now, and I couldn't be more pleased. After a truly traumatizing experience with another local dentist (that left me anxious about visiting the dentist at all), I contacted my former dentist in the FL Keys (Charles Troxel, another FABULOUS dentist), and he highly recommended Dr. A...I only wish I had thought to ask him sooner. Dr. A was sensitive to my past experiences and was extremely gentle and patient with me. I cannot say enough about how wonderful she, her hygienist Alexis, and the rest of her staff is, how warm and comfortable they make me feel, and how pleased I have been with the results of the procedures performed (and I have had many!). Gentle Dentistry does not accept insurance, but they will file your claims for you and they get it done very quickly. You are only given one set of permanent teeth, it is not worth it to entrust them to those storefront chain "chop shops". read more

I made an appointment with these dentists after speaking with the front desk. They assured me they were caring and gentle and they would recognize my anxiety with dental visits resulting from a horrible childhood incident. When I arrived...I was walked thru the entire office and shown people in a dental chair being drilled on! Then I was lined up against a wall... execution style...lol to have my picture taken! I politely said no thank you. They are nice people and they talk a great game. Their office is very nice.... but they manner in which they try to calm your anxiety is completely lacking of any thought or care for the patient. They obviously don't communicate with each other as the lady showing me the office had NO idea I was a bit freightened by the dentist. I never even got to speak with the dentist but if the front desk didn't tell the tech...you can bet they didn't tell the dentist. You can find a better situation! read more
