Update of my last review:…read more My last review was based on my over payment of my homeowners policy. This review will show what Wawanesa did to correct this problem and refund my money. I contacted them via their texting service, which I did not know about before. They sent my check but somehow it got lost in the mail so they reissued a second one. I received that one today, so I lifted my rating back to five stars as this is their typical service based on my many years (since 1989) of doing business with them.

I've been a customer for our auto ins for years, I had left them…read morein the early 2000's and came back in 2022, they are a bit pricey but I was ok with that since they offer the higher limits. Whelp the most awful Thing happened 12/17/25, I was in a horrible accident & my truck was totaled! I gave Wawanesa grace since it was coming up on the Christmas holiday but once 2 weeks passed and no response from adjusters I started to worry as the rental coverage is only for 30 days & I had no vehicle that was being repaired! Well my Worst nightmare came true! The total loss adjuster assigned to us was dragging her feet, never contacted my finance company even though she lied to me on several occasions that she had!! I she had told me over the phone on a Thursday that I would have a check the following Monday & that day came & was gone & it took another 10 days to actually get our funds due us to go replace my vehicle! I would call my finance company daily to see if they've given the payoff to my Ins company & for 2 weeks was told they have not been contacted!! Of course my rental ran out, Wawanesa refused to extend even though THEIR incompetent adjuster didn't follow thru & I literally was doing all the leg work to get my payout to purchase a new vehicle! I ended up paying out of pocket a total of 10 days at $50 a day, thank goodness the rental provider extended the rate to me or I'd be out more money due to Wawanesa's failure to do their job! As of today our loan check to our finance company has still not been recd, it's been since 01/24. So not only did Wawanesa force me to incur over $500 in charges for a rental, my credit is also taking a hit !! I am so disappointed & have left msg for managers with no return call or explanation! I am shocked at Wawanesa & so upset that we pay our ins policy, mind you it's not cheap in CA & with the way things are in the world with ins right now & then to be treated with such arrogance as if we are asking for a favor!! If I could take my business elsewhere right now I would but again the state of our ins premiums in CA it's not easy to move to another ins provider with the same coverages. I feel stuck & not happy at all! I would never recommend Wawanesa ever again!! Wawanesa do better, train your total loss adjusters to have better customer service skills & to return calls to customers & to do THEIR jobs!!! I don't know how many days I spent on the phone leaving msgs, calling my finance company, calling the adjuster back to be lied to & in the end what I was trying to prevent, happened!! Do not go with Wawanesa!! Btw I was not at fault & had major neck, back & arm Injuries all the while dealing with MD appts, therapy, PTSD from The accident & hiring an attorney due to the other party (at fault) not having enough coverage to pay off my vehicle & then I had to deal with the stress Wawanesa caused me. I was literally in tears daily trying to contact anyone at Wawanesa to help us!! I am thankful to be alive, but not thankful for the stress caused by my own insurance!! Go elsewhere!! Not worth the headache they cause their own insured!

TRIPLE AAA (4.5 stars)…read more Towing is not cheap, call around and find out!!! I've decided to get Triple A (Plus) membership for just roadside assistance. And let me tell you, WORTH the money. But you may ask why if you have full coverage with + roadside assistance thru insurance. Did you know using roadside assistance that you pay for with your insurance can boost up premiums because every call would be considered a claim. I don't want to take the chance there since I already pay an arm and leg to Progressive. Triple A offers (3) different plans. I went for the Plus Plan for roadside assistance + Motorcycle roadside assistance. After signing up I was able to start using the service on day one BUT even if you are on a higher plan (paid for and everything), for the first week grace period your services are on the lower plan - didn't like this but I get it, had to deduct half a star rating for that. Lowest plan only tows 7 miles free. Any mile after that you work with the contracted tow how much the charge... I was quoted $12 per additional mile. Not bad $48 to take me to my destination. It was either $48, use my roadside with insurance and get a ding with a claim, OR pay $350-400 for a normal tow... to tow 11 miles. SITUATION. BMW replaced my fuel pump couple months ago so this should no longer be a problem. Either there is a fault somewhere or a false-positive sensor read sending to my computer. I got my BMW towed from my home to BMW service for further diagnostics (do not drive if a fuel pump warning appears on your computer - risky). After scheduling a service I got quoted 1hr wait. That was fine because I was home and wasn't pressed for time. HOWEVER, triple a quickly sent someone and they were at my home in a short time. Ready to go in front of my garage! The person who helped me was named Ivan and he was super chill and we chopped it up a bit driving to BMW's Service dept. Afterwards, triple a called me to ask about my experience and all that good stuff. Overall excellent service and customer service. Did you know... you can use your tows not just on your cars, as long as you are present you can use your tows. So, let me tell you this... NOBODY should be using all their plan's tows within a year (if so that means you need a new mechanic or a new car). If you ever need a tow, see if your friends or family have a plan and use one of their tows. It will save you $400! My car is safely with BMW - thanks to Triple A. On a side note, I may need to tell BMW how to do their job - if it's not the HPFP (that was recently replaced), then might be the EKPS. If both are good and warning still comes up and car shuts off, the ln it's a heat-related component failure. Test the LPFP and connection, test the psi or the voltage. While at it, test the Crankshaft Position Sensor for any faults. Do your job so Triple A doesn't have to do theirs!

They have been getting worse and worse over the years so I moved my 7 cars and 3 houses from insuring with them to USAA. I had just about maxed out all the coverage on my vehicles and was giving Geico over $10,000 a year. I won't be referring them to anybody until things change with the company and they start helping out military members like myself again. TOO EXPENSIVE, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I got into a car accident while pregnant and because the girl was…read morea higher paying member, also basically a young 20 something year old whose parents for actually the ones paying an advising for everything, they were debating on whether or not to cover me because she literally pulled out in front of me in an area where informatives were sketchy as to what the mile per hour was which I was doing severely under, and we were both going uphill with our mirrors blocked because of the sunlight.. had I not caught her while she was going against advice to not tell her car and had she not literally told me verbatim that this was her third accident and she knew it was her fault.. they wouldn't have covered me. And then a week later my husband got nailed by a drunk driver and they would not cover him leaving us thousands and thousands of dollars in debt, because he had his Uber app active. No one had told us that we couldn't have the apps active we were under the impression that they had to just be in use like a passenger in our car. Also on two occasions while reporting this we caught the Geico representative in lies.

This wasn't a non-renewal like we are seeing in CA, by the way, this was just not paying attention by an insurance broker.

Pete was very friendly and professional when we were setting up our homeowner's insurance after…read morepurchasing our home last year. He was communicative and offered us a competitive rate. We were sincerely hopeful that we had found a great insurance provider that we could stay with and not have to deal with the headache of requesting quotes and comparing insurances on a year-to-year basis. Fast forward a year and we receive our renewal notice and our premium has jumped up over 100% from our previous renewal. When I looked into the coverage, it looked like coverage for a pool had been added to our plan mistakenly. No worries, these things happen, so we reached out and noted the error and requested an updated quote so we could renew. That was over a month ago. First, we were told our policy was adjusted to show that we do not have a pool, but we had to forward a picture of our backyard showing no pool to have the underwriter approve the request. After we provided the photos of our backyard, we were then requested to send a picture of the front of our house so the underwriters could confirm the address. We were told we would get the policy updated in 48-72 hours after that. That was on April 9th. We followed up on a weekly basis and kept getting the run-around. On April 22nd we were told 'I have you calendared for tomorrow to follow up with them. I will let you know the outcome'. We had to reach out again at night the next day because we never heard back. Two days after we reached out, we were notified underwriting didn't see the picture that they had uploaded so they had to send it again and was told that they should have it resolved the next day. Fast forward to today - it's the end of the business day and once again we have not heard any update. Our policy is about to lapse in a week because this saga has been going on for a month. I have since reached out to other insurance providers and have gotten multiple quotes with quick responses from the agents and was able to secure a new policy for the same price as our premium from last year. (over 50% off what Farmers offered us this year, granted it seems like we'll never know what our actual premium should have been without the pool since we still have not received an updated quote to-date). I understand that things happen and sometimes it takes a little longer to get back to people but the communication was consistently abysmal and this entire experience has been frustrating. 2 stars because we had a great start, but I guess once we signed up, we were no longer valued customers.
