Staff puts a mask on when they are doing the process. ..but it did have an odor. Only part wasn't a fan of was then material getting on my neck and scalp. Was hoping it was just going to be on my hair but it isn't easy to do that I suppose but weary with the chemical. Hopefully it will last post wash and for awhile. First off, I came in at my scheduled time. On my way, the owner called that stylist was running late. I had to wait around 30 to 45 minutes before my appointment started since she was running late. I had the last appointment of the day. Originally, I was concerned with the fumes since I'm doing a keratin treatment, but it was just me and another client getting our services done since we were the last of the day. They tried to ventilate the salon by opening the doors. I knew things were not going well when I overheard the stylist. Basically she mixed the solution wrong ratio. And it was towards the stronger side, but she didn't try to redo it. The Stylist never asked me what was my preferred language. She had very minimal English proficiency. The other client that was next to me only spoke English, so they just assumed that I only spoke English as well. Once they washed my hair, put on the product , they put me in the chair with a heating cap. That was a second red flag. The fumes became overwhelming. I was crying. That's when I realized- she used the keratin with formaldehyde. Mind you I am an individual in the health field (doctorate level) and I'm highly familiar with a toxicities of chemicals. This should've been my sign to leave once they failed to obtain my consent to put formaldehyde on my scalp. I was deeply concerned for myself & future clients who also would have their consent, violated, and I informed management. After my conversation with management, I felt that it was allowed by management because all they could give me was excuses & empty apologies. Not one time did the stylists ask me if I had allergies, if I had any medical conditions if I was pregnant, which concerns me. This business tries to be fancy, but the quality is not there or the standards of practice. Legally, they cannot put a product on your head that you did not consent to it's a violation not only of ethics, but of cosmetology in general. read more

Horrible experience overall. I came to this place thinking it would improve the frizz and overall appearance of my hair. First off, expect your appointment to take longer than usual cause whoever is doing your hair is also working on two other people at the same time. It has been over 6 months since the last keratin treatment I had here (I had two) and not only have I lost tons of hair since but I have a lot of breakage as well. I absolutely love this spa. Gloria is amazing, she is very personable and shows a lot of care for the work she does. I do a combination of organic/regular keratin and I have never been disappointed. They also have a variety of treatments for blonde hair which I tried today and I love the results. Terrible salon experience today after the owner double booked and was understaffed. My daughter and I had appts at 4:30 today with one stylist servicing both our appointments. She was kind and tried her best. We were inside this salon for over 3 hours for an appointment that should have been no more than a max of 2 hours. The owner didn't give me the courtesy of being transparent by informing me in advance that they were understaffed so that I could decide to move my appointment or not. I watched as other customers repeatedly came in after me and were done way before my appointments finished because they had a dedicated stylist working on their hair, while my daughter and I shared one stylist. This is the experience we got for $340+tip. In addition to the staffing issue, the water heater was broken. So the water was extremely cold when our hair was washed. The owner offered leave-in conditioner to make up for the inconvenience. It was a terrible experience for a pricey service. We were not even offered water while sitting there for 3 hours, when other clients were given coffee when they arrived. read more

Yani did my hair and it took a bit over 2 hours; she said in the future she would schedule me for 2.5 hours.
