I sat there for over an hour suffering with so much fog that was being sprayed into the room that I felt like it was a concert. I had suffered for over an hour. I could not breathe. I had to use my inhaler 3 times just sitting there. I felt like I was going to pass out. I had to leave and sit on the stairs. The singing continued. The doors were shut so I moved closer to the side entrance doors only to still feel the effects from fog machines. A man that was a member of the church was talking to me and brought to my attention that the preacher does not do any scriptures. Like what? Where is the word of God?! I have to carry an inhaler with me as I have asthma. I felt like this preacher is wanting to be more of a leader of a band that a preacher. No word of God, no scripture, and coming from someone who was just recently saved, it felt this was more of mega church trying to turn into a rock band. I do not know how some of the older people could stand the fog machines being sprayed constantly and the chemical effects it took on me. I had to leave the service without any words of God spoken. I was quite disappointed and can confirm that I will not be coming back. I think the preacher needs to take a look at the service he is providing and re-evaluate what exactly he is trying to do, because if he is trying to be a leader of a band, then go do that but not use Jesus Christ as a frontman for his desires to lead a band instead of a church. That was an awesome place. Finding a new church home here in FL was in the top three priorities on our list. My husband did some research and found City Church Sanford. The name was familiar due to family friends serving in ministry at City Church in Seattle. 'Welcome Home' was what we heard during the greeting in service. When we left, it certainly felt like we'd found our new church home, but not to be hasty, we visited another church a few weeks later. It was nice but not a great fit for us. We returned to City Church Sanford and had the same experience as our initial visit. Needless to say, the words we heard about a year ago, 'Welcome Home', are the words we find ourselves saying to the new folks coming through those doors.

I've visited a couple of times now and each time I feel at home. Not sure why they are remaining there as elders... guess they are all ok with having to answer for that when we meet our maker! Many of us have moved on and are serving elsewhere now since FBCT is no more. I am serving at another little church that reminds me of what I loved about FBCT--people are genuinely loving like the body that was there before all of the changes took place. God moves us where he wants us and most of that body have been moved elsewhere to serve Him as needed.
