I came from 30 minutes away to be at this appointment and due to traffic, I was 10 minutes late. I was told on the phone that they could still take me in for at least a consultation. Only to address some lip filler concerns. I was not even asked if I was seeking treatment today. When I showed up the manager was highly rude and visibly angry and lied and said it was 2:13 when it was in fact 2:11. For coming as far as i did she could have at least took me in for 15 minutes and asked my concerns. I work at a medical spa and have been an Esthetician for years and I would never ever treat a new client like that. I had booked online so I had no idea there was a 15 minutes check in time. They could have called me back and not waited for me to get into the building to turn me away. Or at least had compensated for the time I still had. This was caddy unprofessional customer service as if to punish someone for being late. this was only a consultation not a treatment. and she proceeded to give me BS about wanting to do what was best for me. I can see why this place only has a 3.5 star. In a higher class area and they act like low class. Never again they lost a good customer. They could have handled this situation a lot better and since I work in this industry you always give time in between for incidents like this. 30 minutes away and horrible traffic area and they do that to their new clients. absolutely low class. Called to make an appointment and got my appointment for two weeks later. Upon arrival we were greeted and taken care of right away. The staff is super friendly, the facility is super clean and beautifully decorated. All my questions were answered. They have a beautiful waiting area with complimentary drinks like coffee, water and we were offered wine. The prices are very reasonable and the services were really quick and easy. Hopefully I save your beautiful face. I got a chemical peel here it was my first time. I was really excited about it that I document the whole process but as I was peeling. I started to notice burns bad Burns in my eyebrows and in-between and side of my face and my forehead. My nose was bad too. I have gotten other treatments here before. I am terrified to get anything else done because our faces are the hardest to cover up. I had to go back to work looking like I've been in a fire or something. Just wanted to warn you because I put my face in their hands naively and trusting. I went back to talk about what happened and got told that maybe I put to much Vaseline on and caused my side affects. I researched and my routine was simple I wanted the best results. Cody Frie does neuro-muscular massage and he's the best therapist I've ever been to. He's very friendly, always greets you with a smile, and makes your visit so comfortable. He will customize the music for you, ask about the room and table temperature and adjust according to your preference. His technique is very thorough and effective. Previous review: I chose Genesis based on the (mostly) excellent reviews. I am a physician myself, and have been doing Botox for quite awhile, and filler for almost as long. It's not something I want to mess around with "getting a deal" on. I want experienced technicians who know what they are doing. My last Med Spa (in Honolulu) employed certified technicians under the guidance of a highly-rated plastic surgeon. My particular technician, Stacey, attended conferences every few months and they also conducted on-going in-house training of staff. Stacey was excellent! Polite, precise but at the same time quick and efficient with a needle. There was minimal pain (despite the fact that I don't typically use any numbing medication). I was hoping for same at Genesis, now that I have relocated to Colorado. My appointment was Oct 13th. I brought in a diagram of my previous treatment top help guide the genesis technician. I got the sense that the technician was insulted or somehow put-off by this (note: as a doctor, I have had countless patients tell me about their previous experiences and what worked and what didn't - it has never offended me in any way). The appointment went fairly, otherwise. There was a a bit more pain that I've experienced before and a bit more bruising and lumpiness - all of which resolved within 1-2 days. When checking out, I was offered a 2-week follow-up appointment. I have never pre-scheduled a "touch-up" appointment before (only 2 or 3 times in 10+ years have I had to return, before 3-4 months, for touching-up - and these were always booked after-the-fact, based on my own assessment that I needed a touch-up) - but it seemed to be the standard practice at Genesis, so I booked the 2-week follow-up. After about 10 days passed, I realized that, as is typical for me, I had no need of a 2-week follow-up. I should have canceled the follow-up immediately but I was out of town at the time, on business trip, working 14-16 hour days. Time can get away from you... But, no worries! I signed up for appointment notifications, so I felt confident that I would either cancel the appointment in time or simply go to the appointment, if too late to cancel. Well, I received a message this morning that I missed my appointment and was charged a $50 missed appointment fee. What happened to the notifications?? The front desk clerk informed me that "looks like you opted-out of these on Oct 10th". My appointment was OCTOBER 13 (at which time I indicated on my intake paperwork that I WANTED TO RECEIVE APPOINTMENT NOTIFICATIONS). But Genesis staff tells me that I opted out on Oct 10th. Oct 10th comes BEFORE Oct 13th. What am I missing here? Aside from $50? Update: (11/17/22) I was refunded $50 by Genesis Spa at end of October (did not notice the refund nor the voice message from the Spa's director on my cell phone just a few days ago). I appreciate that Genesis gave me a refund. And the call from their director was above and beyond. I am sure that Genesis Spa is the right spa for many people (as indicated by its many glowing reviews). As for me: first impressions set a tone, so, unfortunately, I don't think Genesis is the right spa for me. read more

I've been going here for botox and other random treatments for many years. I have ALWAYS had a great experience and felt good about the cost vs benefit. Today, I was disappointed to learn there is now a $20 fee applied to all botox treatments - for every visit, AND the cost has gone up to $12 per unit if you get over 21 units. Usually the cost is around $600 (for me) per visit but today it was over $700. I have loved coming here, great people and close to home but with these extra charges, I will be a finding a new med spa once my gift certificates are used up. I visited a different med spa up north on Union a few weeks ago for a consult and they charge $75 per area. Not sure what that means when comparing apples to apples for number of units but I'll probably be checking them out soon for more information. Not looking forward to a longer drive but the cost will outweigh the drive. Oh, I wanted to also share my experience with the vaser lipo at Genesis as well. I dont suggest it. I have had 3 kids but am in good shape otherwise. While it did kick start my pregnancy weight loss, I dont feel like my abdomen is any flatter than if I lost the weight on my own (which I did lose the weight on my own with my previous 2 pregnancies). My weight loss may have been faster but still have a flabby stomach. After consulting another med spa for an additional treatment, they immediately recommended plastic surgery because of the extra skin and flab caused by multiple full-term pregnancies. This other med spa does NOT do plastic surgery so they werent trying to recruit me for a higher priced surgery, they were just being honest with me. I was actually already considering plastic surgery because I wanted to get my breasts done someday as well but was kind of hoping there was a way to deal with my stomach in a non invasive way. Dr Jenks suggested a follow up procedure to help slim my stomach but once I paid for the vaser lipo (around $4000), another procedure wouldve been another $2600 and at that point, why not just have surgery?!?! So that's the route I plan to take once I'm done breastfeeding and the kids dont need to be picked up as much since I know the recovery will be rough. A bit disappointed Dr Jenks didnt point me in that direction from the beginning, maybe the pregnancy weight-gain made her think vaser would work well for me but it really didnt and it was so painful during and afterwards for many weeks. My stomach was still numb to the touch for about 8 months post procedure. read more

This med spa seems to be in it for a quick buck. Do not go here. There are plenty of other med spas with doctors who actually care about their patients and the results. I had a lump on my left thigh that made my thighs look uneven and went in for vaser lipo to have it corrected. Not only was it not corrected, it is now worse. I mentioned to Dr. Jenks on three separate occasions (including the morning of surgery) that this lump was my area of concern. She didn't listen to my worries and instead just performed a routine lipo and was done. When I followed up after the procedure to again discuss my concerns, she acted like "oh, well" and even told me a correction to the faulty lipo would cost me even more money. This is a very shady place. Yes, the lobby looks nice but the bottom line after all is said and done is that they do not care. read more

Awful -do not get any service at GENESIS. Unprofessional, irresponsible, incompetent and dishonest. I had facial treatments there and had major swelling and after- effects. I called the next morning - no one ever called me back. Not day 1-or 2 or 3. I was totally on my own to deal with disfiguring effects. There was a highly inappropriate and offensive assistant there who referred to plastic surgery as "fun". I wish I had left when he made this very strange comment accompanied by a weird attitude. It was a red flag I did not pay attention to-to my regret. The doctor never called me back. One month later, after my daughter complained about the unacceptable treatment I received, Ashley the office manager called me with a lame and silly apology. She really listened to what I was asking for, made helpful suggestions and honestly, just made my entire appointment a breeze. Bonus, I barely even felt my injections! I've been here a number of times; some for treatments, others for skincare products - and every time they've been amazing! Dr. Jenks is very good at what she does. Some doctors can be a little heavy handed with their fillers or botox and the results are evident (in a bad way) on the patient's face. I told Dr. Jenks how important it was for me to not have that look. The results from her work couldn't have been better! She has just the right touch, improving things without making it look obvious. Kara Roberts, the product specialist, (i.e. the person that helps you decide which moisturizer is the best for your skin) is also wonderful to work with. She is really helpful, and always makes time to guide me in the right direction as to which skin products work best for my skin. I never feel rushed with her, she's so sweet, and she has so much knowledge! Also want to give a shout-out to the people working at the reception - always professional and helpful. So far I have been pleased with my service here. I have some scarring on my hand and it is red in color. I am working on getting it lasered to reduce the redness. I have on my 2nd treatment and I have seen very small results but am optimistic on my next treatment. Very disappointed in my results from my laser treatment. I felt very led on by Dr. Bode who told me we would see results with one treatment. When I expressed that I wasn't happy, they did offer a second treatment for free. I have seen absolutely no results after two treatments and they refused to refund my money when the proof is right in front of them that there has been no change in my acne scarring. I expressed to you guys that I didn't have a lot of money and that this was a very important treatment that I was willing to do if I saw some sort of results. I have seen ZERO results in the areas I specifically asked for treatment on. Thousands of dollars out the window and they literally DO NOT CARE. First let me start by saying the girls at the front desk were always very sweet. The place is absolutely beautiful my bad review is STRICTLY off the Vaser Lipo. I do not recommend it to anyone. In Feb I got the Vaser Lipo down on my back and my arms. Before getting the procedure I told Dr. Jenks and the nurse how much I hated my arms. They both assured me that they would take good care of me. The day of the procedure the nurse told me to take 2 of the pills that is SUPPOSED to pretty much make you loopy and not remember or feel anything or that is what the nurse told me anyway. I took both pills and sat for about 30 mins. I felt no different. Once I got back to the room where they did the procedure Dr. Jenks made one incision and I told her right away that I could feel it that I wasn't numb. So she gave me another shot of lidocaine. I felt almost EVERYTHING from the procedure. Imagine being awake during surgery and you will understand the pain I was in. I kept telling them but they seemed as if it was normal and kept going. It was extremely painful but like a dummy I took it because I thought they knew what they were doing. From the very start I let the office know that I was moving out of state and I would NOT be able to follow through with ALL of my post op appointments they were ok with that. The first appointment after I voiced my concerns about the amount of pain I was still in, as they said I would be able to go back to work same day if I wanted. That was NOT the case I wasn't able to return to work for a week. I also voiced concerns over the next couple appointments about pain and also how lumpy my arms looked a bunch of burn like scares that were all over my arms (NOT THE INCISION MARKS). They assured me all was normal and to just wait my 6 months to see the final results. Well here we are 6 months later and my arms are AWFUL! WAY worse than before the procedure. I have about 15 burn like scares on my arms that look soo bad I refuse to wear short sleeve shirts. I have total nerve damage in my back and my arms are lumpy. I wrote a review on their facebook page which immediately after the Dr did contact me by email. Dr. Jenks did offer to write me a script for Steriods to help with the nerve damage but I already have an appointment set up with a Nurologist she also said she would give me some laser treatment for free. However I AM NOT in that state. I asked for my money back so I could afford to get her mistakes corrected and still have not heard back. Stay FAR FAR away if this is the procedure you want done. read more

This is the worst service and customer service that I have ever experienced. The staff is unprofessional, dis-courteous and inexperienced, from the providers to the office staff. I signed up for a 4 month facial membership at Genesis. After waiting for half an hour because the aesthetician was running behind, the service was sub par and of no value relative to the fees charged-$135 for a chemical peel. When I arrived at my second appointment (that I went to simply because I had already purchased a membership for), I was told that there was a mix up with their scheduling and they would need to limit the services for the day. I didn't pay as close of attention to the poor ratings and reviews as I should have which resulted in wasted time, experience and one for which I had to pay. Genesis burned me with their laser and left a 12" scar when they used the wrong laser on me with the wrong setting for which I had to receive multiple painful scar removal treatments for. You'd think they would've provided some type of lifetime free laser touchups right? No. I ignorantly went back for a dark spot to be removed from my face and they sold me an IPL when I needed a fractal laser. $200 down the drain. I've left to messages after two doctors told me they'd used the wrong equipment and they won't even return the phone call. Highly disappointed. I should've just sued them when they did that since they've made no effort to repair. read more

I've been having facial procedures for approximately 30 years; facials starting in my 20's, botox and Jessner's peels in my 30's, adding laser reuvenation and more modern peels in my 40's, plus fillers and Juvaderm in my 50's. I have been all over the country. Genesis seemed like a good place, but a misshapen eyebrow filler wasn't fixed. Appointments they solicited ME to schedule (makeup presentations) were missed but I could hear staff laughing & carrying on in the makeup room; they "forgot" me. The Ultherapy experience was good, but that was early on (6 years ago). I could go on, but you get the idea. I tried them for 2 years & gave up. I won't go back & don't recommend them. read more

Had visited Genesis Med-spa a few times over the years. I switched and went to a real dermatologist after running into some problems with treatments I received. One time after Botox, I had a very droopy eye that wouldn't open (wrong injection technique or too much). I also had Ultherapy which was great at first. After less than a year it was like my face was melting and losing fat off my face. The final straw came when they gave me Botox on one side on my cheek only and it made me look like I had a stroke as it relaxed the muscles on that side of the face. I would highly suggest you go to a real dermatologist. read more

Really nice place but if you plan on buying makeup from here, I highly recommend going somewhere else. I got color matched for the Glo powder foundation (and also purchased the tinted primer, concealer and bronzer) by Karra. First off, she tried color matching me with a foundation that had a pinkish undertone when I clearly have an olive undertone lol. When she matched me with the correct undertone, it seemed like the right color. I asked about their return policy and she informed me that once makeup was opened it couldn't be returned. I should have not purchased anything when she told me that but I thought I would love the Glo Cosmetics makeup as I had researched it before going in. Well, the next day I did my makeup and once it oxidized, the color was a little orange and too dark for me. So I called Karra and asked if I could get a lighter shade and she told me to come in and she could switch for a lighter shade. One thing I will say is when most people in stores do your makeup to color match you or whatever, they don't apply it the same as you do when you do your own makeup, at least that's how it is for me. So I went in and she very lightly swatched a lighter powder on my face and it looked better (even though it was barely there) so I just exchanged mine and took the lighter one. A day or two later (I don't wear makeup everyday) I did my makeup and what do you know? It was STILL too dark. I tried it again a few days later without the tinted moisturizer and the powder was too light. The bronzer was too orange so it didn't help warm up my face at all. I tried the powder with a non tinted primer, still didn't like it color wise. So I called Karra and asked if I could please get a refund as I was not at all satisfied with the products and wasn't interested in getting a different color since the two colors are tried were only a one shade difference and were too light and too dark. She said that was fine and I could come in and get a refund. I explained to her that I had tossed 3 of the 4 boxes out but that I sill had my receipt and she confirmed that I had my receipt because without the boxes it was hard to do a refund, and then she asked "oh wait, did you purchase with a credit card?" I told her that I did. She then said that she couldn't credit back to a credit card so she would have to speak to her manager because they normally don't do refunds. I was aware they don't do refunds BUT why did she tell me it was fine and to come in but once I said that I had used a credit card, it was a problem?! She spoke to the manager and the manager ended up letting me return 2 of the 4 products for a refund. Still not happy with that solution but it was better then nothing. Karra also told me on the phone "I gave you a chance to try on the makeup and play around with it if you wanted to. You could have applied it yourself to really see how you liked it." Ya, that would have been nice if you actually told me that when I was there for my color match!!! I have NEVER bought makeup from a place that I couldn't return it if I wasn't satisfied. Ever! And I never will again! Especially when Glo lets you return makeup back to them when you order off their site. My suggestion is to get color matched somewhere else and if their return policy is like this place, order it on Glo's website! read more
