This floral arrangement came out beautifully! The service was excellent. I spoke on the phone with Doug and told him I was looking for an arrangement with blue flowers to send to a friend. He stated he could have it delivered the next day as he was out of blue flowers. But I needed them delivered the same day so said it was okay to switch to coral colored flowers. Doug said he would make it happen. Wow! He certainly did. Not only did he get them delivered the same day, but was also able to get my original request completed. Great customer service and they came out stunning. Definitely was a great value for something so gorgeous. Thanks so much, Doug! read more

I chose the Flora De Amor arrangement, and it was absolutely beautiful. It was for my sister and her business partner's grand opening, so I wanted something truly special and it exceeded my expectations. The arrangement was incredibly full and looked even better in person. This was my first time ordering from this florist, and I'm usually a little nervous that the final product won't match the photos or that different flowers will be used, but that wasn't the case at all. I wanted to find a local florist for a coworker's sympathy gift rather than using one of those 1-800 businesses. Genesee Florist had such an easy to use website and had several selections that were within our mandated budget. We were able to get same-day delivery since we placed the order before 2 PM, and I got a phone call within an hour of placing the order so that they could confirm details. I was even able to call back within a few minutes to change the note on the gift and they were so gracious to accommodate. I don't often buy flowers, but I'll be keeping Genesee Florist at the top of my list for any future occasions! read more

In need of a special Thanksgiving Day bouquet for my sister and her family, I chose Genesee Florist for their lovely, dried flower arrangements. The website photos were close to, but not quite what I wanted - so I picked up the phone and called. Doug answered. If only there were more Dougs in this world! 5-Star Review for Genesee Florist & Doug I stopped into Genesee Florist after seeing a Gorgeous red rose bouquet next door at California Burrito. I spoke with Doug and told him I wanted something similar but within my budget. His suggestion was absolutely perfect! Later I realized I had originally scheduled the delivery for the wrong day and had to call back to make a change. Doug handled it quickly and with zero hassle. This is THEEEEEE BEST florist in San Diego ! We haves used their dry flowers in our RV bathroom and it's still looking good after a lot of moving around. (8 states) They make the most beautiful centerpieces and just love going in there and bringing something in and saying This is my limit, go wild ! They always surprise me. This is a wrapped sunset lover. Picture totally doesn't do it justice it looks way better in person, but damn i'm never going to a grocery store for my flowers again! This wrapped bouquet is FRICKIN AMAZING!!! Aside from beautiful flowers, the customer service here unparalleled. One of the associates immediately greeted me and helped me narrow down what my girlfriend would like (very difficult task). Doug spoke with me at length on the phone and listened to my special requests for a feminine, delicate, pink floral arrangement to send to my daughter to celebrate the birth of my granddaughter. I asked if the arrangement could be delivered to the hospital and he quickly added of course with pleasure. What Doug made is truly a piece of art. This stunning arrangement honors both my daughter and granddaughter as he included Heart Garden Roses that encompasses the love we wanted to send. Doug designed this arrangement from his own creative mind and his talent overflows as you can see in the pictures. My co-worker was hospitalized and was very depressed, so I decided to send her some flowers. I ordered the "Dipped in Gold" floral arrangement online for delivery on the same day. They were able to delivery within certain area codes for a fee and if you want same day delivery, you have to order before 2 PM. The vase for the floral arrangement was not available. Doug (staff) called me to ask if he can use another vase, which was totally fine. I appreciated the fact that they want to make the arrangement as close as possible to the picture on their website. My co-worker was very happy with the flowers. She send me a picture today of the flowers, even 5 days after it was delivered, it was still beautiful and has not withered. Genesee Florist is a local, small business and they offer quality arrangements and superb customer service. I highly recommend them. I was in desperate need of a beautiful floral arrangement for my girlfriend. (I was in trouble). Doug answered the phone and was very friendly and courteous right off the bat. When I arrived at his shop he had a great smile and I could tell I needed his help and expertise. The flower arrangement he made was absolutely gorgeous . Doug fulfilled my every request and was very flexible even as I checked in with him in the afternoon. They have excellent selections, including locally-grown flowers. When you go inside the shop, they also offer plenty of other gift items (books, accessories, cards, stickers, etc) that's great for any occasion. The stem-by-stem flowers at the floral bar inside can get pretty pricey. However, if you're ordering an arrangement, I believe the price is worth for the skills of their florists. As others have said, parking in the South Park location can get tough, but if you go during less busy/peak hours, it should be better.

This was not indicated at all during the order process so was very off putting to hear day of for a Mother's Day arrangement. I am currently out of state for work and an unknown number was calling my cellphone, it was the delivery driver from a trusted florist that was sublet to take care of my order. The driver was going to deliver to the wrong address even though she read the proper address back to me over the phone. I spent about 10-15 minutes on the phone walking her through finding the location of our home and verified delivery via camera and doorbell. When you're paying a premium price to have something done properly and this is the outcome, it was extremely disappointing. I will not be using four seasons flowers for any special occasion again, big let down on many levels. 5-10-2026: To the owner of the shop that just replied back to my review. I am not sure how much more clear I can make this to you, the CORRECT address was provided and everything was filled out appropriately on my end, I am not understanding why you are harping on the fact that this was an online order, if your operation doesn't have the capacity to accommodate this then don't offer it as a service. There is absolutely NO difference in placing an order in person, over the phone and or online. The "trusted" florist you decided to pawn this order off on still attempted to deliver to the WRONG address. Nothing about this was as a success and I cannot believe you have the audacity in a public platform to try and deflect the way that you are. I spent 10-15 minutes on the phone with an elderly delivery driver explaining to her very kindly, that wherever she was going was not the correct address, I am struggling to understand what about this are you not understanding? I am absolutely flabbergasted that instead of reaching back out in attempt to correct the issues, especially in a review, this is your stance. Your address is irrelevant when you're listed as one of the top rated florists in San Diego, if you didn't know, Chula Vista is 100% part of the city. Adding photos for context, maybe you want to rethink your "trusted" partnership approach. Pretty ridiculous again your take on things. Will NEVER be using your shop again and will be sure to spread the word to friends and family to steer clear of your establishment! Very funny that the florist is claiming this is the first email they received, my first communication to them was not the one they decided to include in their review, don't believe everything you read. The owner is incredibly defensive and does all that she can to deflect and spin any negative review to benefit her operation. Go and check yelp and google and get a kick out of it if you have time. The only thing good that came of this after airing things out publicly was a refund.

I have lived in San Diego for over 45 years and can say that Genesee Florist is hands down the best flower shop in the city. Not only do they have a fantastic selection of flowers but the new owner and designer really take into consideration the kind of arrangement you're looking for and do their best to accommodate your budget. I ordered the "Steal the Show" arrangement for my granddaughter Felicia's 25th birthday and was completely blown away by freshness and vibrant flowers. I was also told by Felicia that this arrangement has lasted over two weeks which is way more than the expected livelihood of snapdragons. I was able to customize the arrangement with my favorite flowers "baby's breath" and the "bunny tail" filler thanks to their creative designer, Doug. Overall, dealing with Genesee Florist has been a wonderful experience. From talking over the phone and customizing my arrangements to their wonderful delivery personnel (Same day delivery FYI!). I had such a wonderful experience with Genesee Florist. They were very reasonably priced, especially considering the intricate and beautiful floral arrangements she provided. She started with an initial consultation call to go over my ideas and vision, which made the whole process feel very personalized and collaborative. I really appreciated that she was specific about the flowers she planned to use to compose the bouquets and was also very accommodating when I requested specific flower substitutions. i received THE MOST beautiful flower arrangement i have ever received. Stargazers, purple rose looking flowers and some little pink ones and pink roses. i received this arrangment last week and it is stillllll soooooooooooo beautiful. i would recommend them to anyone. delivery guy was nice and said to keep them fresh to cut the ends and put them in fresh water...no one has ever told me how to take care of flowers... i think that is what made them last so long.
