Terrible food, extremely slow service, a painful experience. They also don't have an exchange rate!

The location was very convenient to the town, walkable to all the restaurants and shops. Our room was very comfortable and spacious, and the bed and pillows were SO comfy. We also had a nice view of the water and boats from the room, which was a bonus. However, the balcony hadn't been cleaned off in a while as there were lots of bugs and cobwebs. The hotel also offers Starbucks coffee on each floor every morning! The breakfast on the patio was good, but the service was a little slow. We also enjoyed happy hour on the patio one night though --the crab dip was delicious, and the espresso martini was excellent. A couple of things to know before your stay: there aren't complimentary bottled waters in the room, but the front desk is happy to provide them if you ask. The hotel also doesn't have a late-night market or convenience area for drinks and snacks, which would have been nice. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend The Harbour Hotel for anyone visiting Clayton.

Breakfast food and service excellent. Large portions. Starbucks coffee free, front desk in morning fantastic. Makes no sense, you can bring free coffee into Restaurant but if you order it with breakfast, $5.00. Front desk, Jacob evening fantastic. Some daytime staff at desk unfriendly and so, so. Shower, no cold water in couple rooms, some only hot water. Still overall recommended. Nice pool and hottub. Large event space and easy parking. Ps Robes are very nice and worth $75. If you need one.

A few weeks ago, my daughter called me and said that we should go on a "Staycation". I did not know…read morewhat this meant. She explained that many people were doing this to save money in transportation when going to other places. It meant we stay in Kingston, where we live, and enjoy re-discovering our town, taking tours, we had not done before, disconnecting for a few days of our jobs, and most important, spending time just us: mother and daughter. What a wonderful surprise it was for me to arrived at Frontenac Club to spent 3 days together. This boutique hotel is one of a kind located in the heart of downtown Kingston. We parked the car in the parking lot of the hotel during all our stay, as we were able to walk to the sites we wanted to visit. Also, within walking distance are the best restaurants in town. We were given two marvelous suites, one with a full living room, king bed, and an astonishing bathroom with a bathtub. The other one was also very impressive with all the amenities needed. Both suites were impeccable clean! Every morning, we went down to their restaurant called "The Bank" where we had a well served and complete breakfast (included), and the last day we dine there (tapas), accompanied by life music and the tastiest margaritas I have ever had. Frontenac Club personnel make a special point to get to know their guests. With 20 suites, all with different themes and sizes, they catered families, singles and couples. They have a sweet bar and small arcade for children, a lounge to read and play games, a patio to relax, enjoy the weather while having meals served also there. It is important to note that Frontenac Club is a heritage historic house build in 1871, and although it has been completely and beautifully renovated, it has kept its special character. It was home to one of the first Canadian Bank of Montreal, and therefore there is a vault, so large that it has been conditioned to host business meetings or private celebrations. I highly recommend staying at Frontenac Club. If you are celebrating an anniversary, or a family gathering (my brother and his family stayed here when they visited us from overseas), or if you are celebrating another special occasion, or coming to Kingston as a tourist, or as a staycation guest, you will not be disappointed!

We weren't expecting an incredible experience but we certainly got one! Judy was wonderful managing our reservation and warmly greeted us when we arrived. I like the concept of boutique hotels but sometimes find they can be too cramped or stuffy, not the Harbor House Inn. It's intimate but rooms are spacious so you feel like you can breathe. The room was absolutely amazing, farmhouse chic with a splash of coastal aesthetic. The soaking tub was to die for! The bed was very comfy. All the staff were friendly. Our room had a partial view of the lake, was a welcome surprise. The hotel is right in the center of town, perfect walking location to the battlefield, shops and eateries. All we wanted was a night away from the little ones but Harbor House Inn delivered a sweet experience. Highly recommend and will definitely return. It was worth the money spent!

We paid $152 a night including taxes and fees (booked directly through the hotel, not a third party). This hotel is right off Highway 401, so very convenient. We had a room facing the Brockville Convention Centre and not facing the highway, so noise was not a problem. It is within walking distance to a few shops, restaurants, and fast food joints. It's a Holiday Inn Express, so the rooms are pretty basic. No fridge, no microwave. However, you get free hot breakfast buffet, free WiFi and free parking. The rooms were clean. I carry Clorox wipes with me when I stay in hotels and I wipe down all the hard surfaces. The wipes came out white (not grey or black), so I was happy. There were some stains on the fabric computer chair at the desk though, so this was a bit off-putting, but I've seen much worse at other hotels. They have a small fitness centre and pool. I didn't use the pool, but I saw it because the pool and fitness centre are separated by a glass wall. I think it's a bit weird to have to look at people in the pool while you're on the elliptical, but I guess the glass wall makes the fitness centre look and feel not as small. The fitness centre is tiny. The sign says maximum room capacity is 6 people (!) The room only has 1 elliptical, 2 stationary bikes and a treadmill, no free weights/dumbbells, so I have no idea what the other 2 people would be doing, lol. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't any weights, but given the small space, I guess that's understandable. So I had to be a cardio bunny during our stay, haha. The breakfast buffet was good and comparable to other Holiday Inn Expresses. We stayed for 2 nights and the breakfast selection did not change. The hot breakfast was turkey sausage, pork sausage and scrambled eggs. They had a pancake machine. They had cinnamon buns, muffins, bagels, English muffins, and bread. They had oatmeal (with toppings you can add like raisins, walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon), 4 types of cereal, yogurt, and boiled eggs. They had juices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate (the last 3 are available 24/7). All the staff were exceptionally nice. Stella was very warm and welcoming. They also give you Tic-Tacs in your room when you arrive and housekeeping writes you a nice welcome note. After our first night there, I left a thank-you note for housekeeping along with our tip and mentioned that I loved the Tic-Tacs. When we returned, our room attendant (Kylie) wrote me a nice note back and gave me extra Tic-Tacs! How nice was that? They also called our room on the second night that we were there to ask us if everything was ok with our room (they may have called us on our first night there but we weren't in our room so we don't know). This HIE also has free popcorn in the lobby everyday from 7pm-9pm. We didn't have the opportunity to have any, but I think that it's a very nice extra. WiFi was fast and reliable. Parking was plentiful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The desk in the room was also a good size, and had plenty of outlets in convenient, easy to access spots for those who need to plug in and do a bit of work. The bed was overall comfortable, but the pillows were too soft and didn't offer enough support for me. The Wooden Boat Inn offers different types of accommodations you can rent a house but think they only rent that by the week. The first thing when looking at the place from the outside you think or we did was it's got a nautical theme. It looked well maintained on the outside which made me pull in to check on availability and rates. I lucked out the owners Tom & Carol were there and they showed us around and were a wealth of knowledge about the area but back to that in a minute. The first room that they took us to was called Room Six the door opened and I waited for that musky , moldy , dirty smell..... To my surprise it didn't have any odor at all I couldn't believe it plus it was updated new furniture , tv etc... Next we checked out Rooms 1 thru 5 and again found them all clean , no odor and updated. Back to the owners Tom & Carol they are truly wonderful from the information they shared to the little extras they did for us. They went above and beyond in ever aspect to make us feel welcome and special. We were so impressed we booked a full week for later in the summer. I had no problem finding this location. It's across from a gas station that is still being built. There was plenty of parking. I am a platinum elite member, so I got points as my welcome gift. I got my room cards and was shown where the elevators were. I love TownePlace Suites because you get a kitchenette. My room was compact. If you like roomy, perhaps this place isn't for you. It was roomy enough for me. However, it didn't have a luggage rack. It wasn't a big deal, though. I ended up placing my luggage on the floor and unpacked that way. Anyway, the kitchenette was stocked with an entire full bottle of dishwasher liquid soap. This is rare and a first for me. I have either been happy with a tiny bottle or had to ask the front desk for a bottle. I loved the generosity! I fixed myself snacks and made my smoothie drink with my personal blender. Breakfast is served downstairs. Otherwise, you can always make meals in your room for variety. I slept extremely well. I was on the top floor, which was quiet. The bed was comfortable and spacious. I watched TV from both my bed and the sofa. I was extremely comfortable. The washroom was clean. The shower was great. The water pressure was perfect. Housekeeping did a great job with my room. I was pleased. This hotel is within walking distance from Shoreline Casino, which is next door. You can roll out of the bed and then roll dice at the casino in two minutes tops.
