If you ever brought a home you know how important it is to have clean tax paperwork. Unless to have a single W2, I wouldn't recommend going to these Liberty and HR Block tax places. I used to do that and I still believe I overpaid one year which prompted me to pay the extra money so my taxes can be right. If you are in the Richmond, VA area, I highly recommend AJC.

I should have wrote a review every…read moreyear since 2010 however, I did not know how important it is to do a review until I started looking for a reputable bathroom remodeler and starting reading reviews.....So here it is for Stanfield & Associates, Inc... In 2010, our taxes were very complex due to a business we closed, changes in jobs, children in school/college, etc. My husband met with Kurt in 2010 and of course asked him loads of tax questions. Anyone who can answer the questions in layman terms and continue to smile and have patience is worth trying. Kurt has been our tax accountant ever since 2010. Fast forward to this year, "2018" I had to add a late IRS item to my already filed taxes. I called Kurt and told him about my dilemma and within a couple of days, the taxes were filed and ready for signatures. Kurt is an awesome, experienced and trustworthy accountant. He is a friendly professional who is on top of the tax laws and very easy to work with. If you are looking for a tax accountant who is trustworthy, dependable and on top of his game, I highly recommend Kurt Stanfield!

I had my taxes done and was specific I had filed an extension... I was asked to pay in June and did…read moreso and advised I would pick them up just had a lot going on and again I had filed an extension. Well, my taxes were filed without my consent electronically on 6/15 which I then found out with letters from the state and IRS I was now in default of previous payment plans.. when I called Exclusive to enquire what had happened I heard, oh the documents were in my bin to file so I just filed.. and now I'm left to figure it all out because the hours the tax preparer (I won't add her name) is having to take to call IRS and she never phoned the state (or I was told she tried) is extreme obviously and it's my fault I guess because I did owe taxes from past years I have been paying. I received a deflecting email a week ago and all I've asked for is a refund and my 2023 taxes.. a week went by so I emailed asking for both then was only advised to retrieve the tax documents from their portal and I'm not sure how to do that when they are not there only 2022 is there. I emailed back and no reply. Please know if you're thinking about using Exclusive on Huguenot Rd ... you may wish to use someone who can actually say they messed up and they are sorry and how can I make this right instead of excuses and sending me on a wild goose chase for tax documents not even uploaded yet although they can file without my consent.

I have never written a Yelp review but felt the need to warn people about this group. As many…read moreothers have said, service was great prior to the change of ownership. Not only are they now nearly impossible to contact, but, despite my submitting all the information they needed as soon as the portal opened, they didn't finish our tax return until a day or two before the 4/15 filing deadline, so we were very rushed to review and get it filed. Add to that "issues" with their system that kept giving us error messages, and it was an incredibly stressful situation. Furthermore, there was a discrepancy on our state return--their mistake--and when I pointed it out, they charged me $230 to "explain" it. I wouldn't have paid the bill--I mean, why would I pay them to explain a mistake I brought to their attention?--but they autodeducted it from the checking account I had on file to pay for our tax return services. This is truly beyond the pale. STAY AWAY!
