Ok I am done 30 plus years and I have to give up the office staff is the worst. My employer got new insurance and they are listed as in network Staff says we dont take this. Call insurance co and the confirm they are in network insurance co calls dr office and staff gets an attitude with insurance company. I have been a patient here for about two years, after becoming fed up with my previous office (a major health system with a two-month wait for appointments and a constant rotation of doctors coming and leaving) It was a pleasant change to this small office. Scheduling has been plenty flexible, especially when I needed multiple trips to complete various vaccination series/titers. They even worked with me to get a prescription filled same-day after an insurance blip. Getting them on the phone can be tricky sometimes, but not a major issue. I don't know if there have been changes in staffing/management, but I certainly did not run into the same problems as some previous reviewers. read more

I went in with a problem, asking for help, advice, etc. and the doctor shrugged and literally said "eh, it'll probably just go away!" 2 months later and I am getting worse and I have no idea what to do now other than just trying different specialists on in my own. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had an appointment today as a new patient. I left the doctor's office after waiting almost 2 hours past my appointed time with no direction on how much longer the doctor would be. Then, I asked for a refund on my copay, and it took the receptionists another 10+ minutes to figure out how to work the machine to return my money. There is absolutely no excuse for a GENERAL doctor to make a patient wait almost 2 hours before seeing them. Who knows how much longer I would have had to wait if I hadn't left. Never going back and would suggest others not to as well. read more

Update 9/12/2017: I am changing doctors. I needed to see my doctor because I thought I had broken my knee and needed an x-ray. I showed up at the office because I knew I would not reach a live person until the afternoon, and I needed to see my doctor that day, so that I could get a referral to go get an x-ray that day. I was told by the woman at the front desk that there were no openings and that I would have to make an appointment for another day. Sorry, but to me a broken bone is not something that I'm willing to wait on. I have always assumed that when I have had to wait over 1-1/2 hours for my scheduled appointment, that it was because they were fitting people in who had emergency situations crop up, but apparently this is not the case. I still stand by Dr. Doroshow. He is a wonderful doctor, but the staff is unorganized, rude, and inflexible. _________________________________________ I think Dr. Doroshow is a wonder doctor. He is caring, kind, and willing to take the extra time to answer any questions. Unfortunately, the staff is causing me to seriously consider going somewhere else. I have had two coding errors which resulted in me being charged for appointments I shouldn't have been charged for. And there is no arguing with the woman who does the billing. She just does not want to resubmit to the insurance company. I guess because she doesn't want her mistake noticed. In addition, anytime I need something faxed or submitted via computer (script, referral), I have to call twice to get it done, and it's like it was the first time I called. The first request was never acted on. I hate the idea of finding another doctor, but I can't keep dealing with these issues. read more

Small office, long wait, staff is nice but it sucks that they never have space for ill patients who need to be seen the same day. Not so impressed with the 2 ladies (physician assistants), I feel like they just rush you and avoid to do more than just questions about your health, and one of them (not sure about her name, Pereira) just recommends left and right to her fellow doctor specialists, when they have a poster on the wall stating that your general doctor can help you with most of your issues, instead of going straight to the specialist. Nurses are really nice and kind, Dr. Doroshow and Cohen are good too, but really disappointed on the 2 assistants. read more

Don't schedule an appointment if you have to be somewhere afterwards. Don't wait for them to return messages. Per my insurance, I need a referral to see a dermatologist so I called during business hours and had to leave a message. No problem. No call back. After a week passed, I was forced to catch up on bills and decide to wait on the dermatologist so I didn't bother calling again. Now three weeks later with no return call from GPA, I had another medical need. I called on Sunday, knowing they are closed, but hoping I receive a call back. No call back. So I called Tuesday (today), got a live person and made an appt. for the afternoon. My appointment was schedule for 3:15. I waited until 4pm before asking how much longer it will be. I was told they don't know, they need a special room so they have to wait until it was ready. Everyone was very nice so I was nice back and did not ask why the room wasn't ready at 3:15 when I was scheduled for my appointment, but I am now asking Yelp- why wasn't the room ready for an hour when they had me scheduled and knew they needed the room? Why did a medicine salesman and 2 other patients that came in after me, go back to where the "rooms" are then leave and I sat there waiting? Why are two phone messages for an appointment not returned? WHY DID I WATCH THE DOCTOR TYPE ALL IF MY INFO INTO A LAPTOP ONLY (not on paper), AND THEN WATCH THE LAPTOP BATTERY FALL OUT TWICE? HELLO!! The doctor was nice but did seem a little surprised when I asked her to now check a second thing and then a third thing, because I have been waiting three weeks to check these things and I won't be coming back again. read more

I've been a patient here for some time and agree with the other reviewers. The only thing that has kept me coming back is that my doc is pretty awesome. However, I have to wait over a month to see him. Sometimes I need to be in sooner but they won't budge. They don't leave any room for sick appointments so I usually go to the Minute Clinic up the street. And agreed on most occasions the front desk staff are severely lacking in customer service skills. It's a shame because it's convenient to where I live and I love my doctor but at the same time, having a practice disregard people's time so blatantly is just unacceptable. Having worked for a doctor before we would have been fired if we'd treated patients that way. The place needs an upgrade a full upgrade, in both decor and management. read more

I love this office and always have my whole life. Yes right now you can sometimes wait awhile but that's because work has been being done to their office and one doctor passed away and dr. Cohen got cancer and had to leave until he beat it. Now they are readjusting to him being back. If you get scheduled and have to wait long schedule your next appointment for a different day of the week because some days are must more busy then others. read more

I agree with Sarah below. I have been a patient there for 2 years- and NOT ONCE have I been seen within 1/2 an hour of my scheduled appointment time. I requested I speak with the manager of the office after waiting 2 hours at my most recent appointment, I told him I have been waiting 2 hours and that is unprofessional, a waste of my time and insulting. He responded by saying the doctor I was waiting for usually runs that late. Naturally I asked why he is scheduled in 30 min incriments- to which the manager told me "Because we can't surrvive just billing 1 patient every 2 hours". I demanded I be seen- especially since it was a routine appointment to get a perscription refilled. I later received a bill in the mail for $120 for the appointment that I was told I needed or they wouldn't refill my script AND waited 2 hours for. Do not waste your time because they most certainly do not care about customer satisfaction. read more

The front desk staff are terrible, no matter what time my appointment is I'm always waiting at least an hour (clear your whole afternoon). You have to call multiple times over the afternoon to get someone to pick up the phone. I've also had multiple billing issues. The only reason I keep going is that all the doctors and especially the PA are wonderful. read more

I have never waited more than 20 minutes for the doctor, and while I agree that waiting over two hours is simply ridiculous, I'm not sure that warrants a 1-star rating on the whole practice. I have received excellent service and care, and will continue to do so. I believe this is a great practice and recommend it to anyone in the Northwest area. read more

Impossible to reach a human on the phone. You leave a message and hours later you're lucky if you get a call back, and most times that's after calling and leaving 2-3 messages. Very poorly run office if you have to wait 5-6 hours to talk to a person. read more

Find a different physician instead of wasting your time and money at General Practice Associates. Everytime I go I wait at least 1-2 hours past my scheduled appointment time and they can never find my chart. I've been a patient for, unfortunately, three years now and for some reason it's always "misplaced". The last visit my insurance was also billed improperly saying I was treated for a body part that wasn't even discussed. This body part isn't covered by my insurance so I had to pay for the entire visit out of pocket because the physician swore he treated this body part when I was just there for a physical. I have had it with this practice and I'm sure most people do but they go here because of the convenient location. Trust me it will be much more convenient to drive an extra 45 minutes to an office that actually cares about patients and respects their time. read more

This is a horrible, unprofessional office. They misplaced my blood test results causing a needed referral to rheumatology to be delayed for several weeks. This doctor should not be allowed to practice. This office was extremely unprofessional and lax in their care and follow up. My blood results were 'misplaced' and I did not receive important information until I called the doctor myself just by chance. Their lack of professional care is dangerous. read more

I waited an hour and a half past my appointment time, just to go back and wait an additional 20 minutes to be seen. The front desk staff were rude, and act as if you're inconveniencing them with your presence. There is no professionalism among any of the employees. The place is dirty and has a weird smell. The worst. You better show up 1 hr before your appointment to be seen on time. Good luck geting through calling them since the line is constantly busy. They say their slow service is because they are updating their computer system to make everything more effecient, well it seems like thy have been doing this forever and they still suck. This is the worst Dr. Office I have ever been to. The staff is so outrageously rude and arrogant. They treat everyone as if they were idiots. I have even head them talking about other patients while waiting.!!! YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE TO WAIT PAST YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME , EVERY TIME, EVEN IF YOU ARE EARLY. I arrived early to my appointment and i sat i watched 5 Different Pharmaceutical Reps. go before me and others!!!! I was finally seen 45MIN LATE (keep in mind I was early and there was only TWO other people their) the other people waiting seemed very upset as well. They constantly confuse me for OTHER Patients . They even bring in the WRONG CHARTS and have disclosed PRIVATE CONFIDENTIAL PATIENT INFORMATION to me during the appointment until I inform them that they have the wrong chart. The only DR. who is worth his salt is Dr.Choen its a shame that she has to work with such incompetent fools. GOOD-LUCK making an appointment because most of the time the phone rings busy until they close. I have called all through the 3Pm hr right up to their closing hr which is 5pm trying to make an appointment and the phone rings busy REALLY!!!! ????? It cant be that they are that busy for 2hrs solid, and if they are THIS IS A DR. OFFICE WITH MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS GET A PHONE SYSTEM WHERE IS MY MONEY GOING?!!!! i have gotten better phone service from CVS, which by the way has a minute clinic and i actually receive better service their then at my actual doctors office. I have even had the operator service tell me "that this office never picks up their phone and they receive calls all day with people trying to get ahold of them". this practice has been my families doctors for years. Having worked in a medical office I have to say that it is not easy some days. Some patients can be very rude to the staff and we still have to maintain a professional and pleasant. We deal with hundreds of patients in a week in person and on the phone not to mention the forms and faxes that are constantly coming in. We too have drug reps which come in during lunch time. Most of the time they are in the back in the doctors office just waiting to catch them for a minute. They really only get a minute or two of our doctors time. The reps are important since they do tell the docs the new drugs on the market for our patients as well as leaving samples for patients to try. If the docs are running behind we offer our patients to leave a cell number if they want to run and get a coffee or something and we can call them. I know I have heard this office do this on occasion. The restaurants do it by giving out pagers and that is acceptable to everyone. This is the same thing. I got in the other week the next day for an appointment. There may be a wait for a certain doctor, but if you are willing to see another doctor or their physicians assistant, the appointments have not been a problem for me. read more
