We were only going to stop for a few minutes to check out their inventory but ended up staying awhile and even made a terrific and reasonably priced purchase. The shop is small so the inventory isn't massive like some larger gun shops. Badger Creek does offer unique items, such as older revolvers, as well as new items. One I fell in love with was a gorgeous Colt 1911 pistol with a hot-blued finished frame (hot oxidation of the steel). It was extremely striking with all the various shades of color and a fair price. Another thing I judge a gun store by is if they acknowledge and respect a woman the same as a man entering the business and not ignoring women. My husband and I entered the business at separate times since I was outside taking pictures. When I entered the gentlemen behind the counter immediately acknowledged me and made me feel very welcome. They explained answers to my questions clearly and made it fun to look at whatever I found interesting. I truly enjoyed giving them our business rather than a cold impersonal salesperson. Yes, their prices were competitive and reasonable so I wasn't just looking for a girl's pretty pink or purple gun. Whether you're in the market or just out shopping in the Mooresville area, pop in for a few minutes. Yes boots of all sorts & sizes to wear as well :) ! Staff here at The Outdoorsman are the sort of folks that always goes beyond your typical brick & mortar stance, IMHO. You're effectively supporting mom & pop venues from within our Hoosier state. I've asked all sorts of naïve questions. Let's say I now appreciate a thing called Arrowsmiths. There's a little bit of everything here. From the wonderful "YETI" brands (worth every penny) to the must haves & why nots. Beginning with the avid archer tidbits & upstairs range to various hunting blinds, a bonanza of fishing poles/lures if a peaceful catch suits your boat, very nice heavy duty safes to keep your guns/amino properly secure, outfits for all outdoor activities to attaining your appropriate Indiana licenses so the DNR folks stay happy. Don't let their size fool ya, it's way way way bigger on the inside. Plus there's a upstairs for kids, women, & men to practice their passion in archery. What? Yes it's quite fabulous. I'm not as versed in the outdoor hunting activities primarily due to those pesky ticks/fleas (super yuck)-no worries...this place will set a novice up. Alls ya gotta do is ask kindly to the staff. Thermacell will help with mosquitoes & it's here too! Staff here are eager to help direct you for your outdoor extracurricular activities! They are vigilant about their craft & help guide you in the direction you'll need! Come wonder towards Greenwood, ya never know...ya might find something fun.

The range was reasonably priced and well appointed. They have enough lanes so that the family with the big boom long guns were in the next room and not right next to the less experienced shooters with me, and it looked like they had a playroom for kids to stay occupied while parents were shopping or shooting. There were enough staff to handle several groups of customers for the shop and Range at once, and they were so friendly and welcoming to both their regulars and we out-of-towners. And the bathrooms were clean even though we were approaching closing time. So wash the lead off before you leave. The shop itself is large and spacious. Guess it makes space to feel out the long guns. But it feels like they plan to bring in more shelves and expand their selection. My family really appreciated the experience. It was nice to have an indoor range in a rainy day, but that it not feel corporate/industrial like the "big-box" ranges. Seems like a nice little locally-owned, veteran-run business.
