We stopped once on the way home back to the Bay Area right before they were about to close for the night and again for a "cheaper" dessert option after a spendy dinner at In Bloom next door. So many flavors from cream based to fruit ones to choose from, they were nice enough to let us sample so we get what we want. But honestly, you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose and some of their fun names makes it even more memorable.

The building itself seemed pretty empty, but it was super clean and had clean bathrooms too. I came to try the sea salt caramel flavor, but they were out. Went for 3 scoops - choco chip coffee which was good - pistachio which was excellent, my fav - mixed berry very refreshing great milky smooth gelato I also found leo leo on the menu of Rustic Fire pizza place, and thought about going there are dinner just to see if could get sea salt caramel there, but of course was too full and too tired at night to hit the pizza place. Will just eat the pizza next time to kill 2 birds with 1 stone maybe, lol.

Alessio Artisanal Gelato is located on the main Mission Drive in Solvang and open Wednesday to Sunday from 12-6pm! It's a cute little shop with no tables inside, but a nice outdoor area, that is shared with the other businesses surrounding it. They had a lot of great flavors, but my daughter and I decided on Pistachio - it was really good. Nice and creamy with a great pistachio flavor! Alessio Artisanal Gelato prides themselves on real ingredients, real flavors and real fun. They also offer new flavors every week! Staff were also really friendly and helpful too! If you're looking for a sweet treat, I would definitely stop in and check out Alessio Artisanal Gelato if you're in the mood for something other than a bakery!

It was about a 15 minute wait, which was not bad for Saturday afternoon. Tondi Gelato hand churns the gelato (which they advertised in front), so I was excited to try. There were tons of flavors and they also allow you to mix. I decided on salted caramel and strawberries and cream. Once I got to the front, I was in and out in about 5 minutes. They also put on whipped cream, which I opted to skip. There's a small patio for seating, but I wandered around state street. The ice cream was pretty delicious, so creamy and tasty. The only thing is that my strawberry and cream over flavored the caramel. So I ate them one side at a time (lol). Next time, I will pick other flavors that mesh better. Definitely a must try when you're on state street. They also have a ton of vegan options, which looked really good.

Coconut was sweet and creamy and the lemon tasted like fresh lemons the perfect flavor for a hot summer day.

We wanted to mask it with sugar lol. Sheep's milk! Who would have thought?! My husband had the crazy cookie, and I opted for the fresh mint. The mint was delicious. Literally not artificial, and the sheep milk is smooth, a little icy, and complemented the mint beautifully. Dare I say the best mint chip I've ever had. Trust when I say I love artisan ice cream. I came here to leave a review about the service though. There was one young girl working, and there were two large families in front of me and no one behind me. She was patient with them as they both had kids and tried different flavors. When everyone left, for some reason I started having a coughing fit. I think I tried to sneeze and cough at the same time and that was just a catalyst lol. Plain embarrassment. She reached for some water handed that to me and I was so grateful that she recognized I was struggling lol. It's the little things we do as humans. Inside is small, but they do have a patio and this place is surrounded by a brewery with lots of other options to eat outside so you will not be lost on finding a seat somewhere.
