So glad we came out here in our rental Jeep! It's about a quarter mile hike, following the green lines, till you get to the top of the 2 arches. Seriously beautiful but seriously dangerous, so don't take your kids! If you haven't been out here, it is so worth the drive. If you don't have a Jeep, you'd probably want to come in from 313, not 191. It's about 5 miles along the dirt road. Not sure I'd do it in anything but a 4WD! But maybe that's just me. I would thoroughly recommend checking this place out. read more

Gemini Bridges - View through one of the arches. - Mountain Biking Near Me - Moab, Utah

It's less than 1/4 mile hike to the bridges. We were the one ones there which was rare to take in the scenery without others in the pictures. It's a ways to drive to the bridges but it is worth visiting at least once. There bridge has a whole between it but you can walk across the entire bridge. You can come in from below and hike up to the bottom which gives you a whole new perspective and experience. read more

A short walk to the Gemini Bridges was easy this time. The green painted marker lead us straight to the bridge. There was a stupid sign pointed to the wrong way. Just ignore the arrow. Gorgeous place. Walk around and explore the surrounding. Be safe. Please hold on to your young kids. And don't let your kids drive his bike or Jeep over this twin bridge. read more

If you are driving south on UT-191 towards Moab you will notice several signs on either side of the highway for dirt roads which lead off into the distance. One of these roads is Gemini Bridges. The entry is just about 9 miles north of Moab and it heads west and connects with UT-313 inside (I believe) Canyonlands National Park. We accessed this road from UT-313 in the Canyonlands, If we had not we probably would not have had a chance to see the namesake Gemini arches since this is one freaky path! If you enter from UT-191 you will almost immediately begin ascending a NARROW cliffside "road" which meanders along the walls of a tall butte. The trail is essentially single-lane and you are hundreds of feet above the ground with no guardrail. This is actually a really cool drive as long as you don't encounter a vehicle heading the opposite way on the cliff and you are on the road in ideal conditions since falling off the road at the higher elevations is likely sure death! I have no idea what you would do if you were on the cliff and came upon another vehicle, since the path is not wide enough for two vehicles. We drove the cliff in a snowfall and everyone was tensed out. Thankfully no one else was stupid enough to be on the trail in this kind of weather. Aside from this near death experience of traversing the cliff-side trail you will find yourself in flat-land on dirt trails with lovely scenery and scrub brush. If you want solitude here it is! The trail to the Gemini Bridges arch is surprisingly well marked. There will be periods of time when you wonder if you are really on the right path but eventually (if you are on the right path!) you will see a marker pointing to the arches and/or the way to the highway. The main arch of the Gemini Bridges is a short walk from the parking area along the dirt road. There are signs warning you to watch your step since you are on a plateau several hundred feet above the river valley below and the cliffs are sheer. The arch itself is built into the edge of the cliff below your line of sight, so you have to get close to the cliff side and look down to see it (see my photo). Bold and sure-footed souls may even try to walk across the span (not sure if this is legal or sensible though)! This trail is not for the faint of heart, but if you are adventurous, go for it! The area apparently is really popular among bikers and there are camp sites nearby towards Canyonlands. read more

Fun, quick jeep trail! Many people joke this as well.. But if you have a 4x4 vehicle I would recommend taking that instead of hiking about 4 miles to the bridges. It's beautiful out here, but there are more hikes that are worth the hike more than this one! Great photography ops here. Beautiful towers in the canyon! read more

Nice Jeep or Off Road Area And Sights... This arch is only a small part of the appeal of this journey... The area is filled with great scenery and camping opportunities. Trails abound as you make your way to the bridges. The bridges are easily accessible by a stock jeep, ATV or dirt bike. Tips for going on other trails in the area: Make sure you get a good map or guidebook as some trails in Moab are super easy and others are pretty intense and normal vehicles and people without much experience should beware... 35" tires or larger do a good job in most places and if you are running stock with no lift or bigger tires you will find many times rocks will be slamming your vehicle. We have lockers on our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Edition but still have the factory 32" tall tired and normal suspension... I am pretty experienced with Jeeping and always have lifted my jeeps but this one is only a month old... Be careful and have fun! read more

The first part of this dirt bike trail should not be rated a 1. It's rocky and steep; better rated a 2 or higher. The top is probably awesome, but my son and I (beginners) couldn't make it up safely. read more
