How to get there(ish): 1. Head up ID 55 like you're going towards McCall 2. Hang a right on Banks Lowman Highway 3. Drive for 28 miles and then you'll see Pine Flats Campground on the right 4. (Now getting to the hot springs is a bit tricky. Side note: I definitely would NOT recommend attempting this in snowy weather, that just would not be smart or safe.) Anyways, you're going to take a trail that runs sort of by the river and is towards the rightmost part of the campground. You'll walk for what I assume to be a quarter mile, and then voila! You'll arrive at a beach along the river with massive boulders and pools stacked against the hillside (this is all natural by the way)! The Campground: Parking is $5/day, and I am not sure about the cost of overnight camping as we only made a day trip here. They have one bathroom here, and, well, it's totally a public park bathroom. The Views: We went on an October weekend, so we had a view that combined all things beautiful that Idaho has to offer in one--snow on mountains in the distance, lush green hills, stunning fall foliage, a rushing river running along the hot springs, and clean mountain air. The Hot Springs: A good amount of the pools of water were warm and I would only recommend sitting in them if the weather is above 80 degrees, or else you'll get chilly real quick. But for the most part, they were toasty, especially if you sat underneath the ones with waterfalls--those will heat you right up! Pro Tip(s): 1. Make sure you have more than enough gas in your car--you're out of service up here and out of luck if you run out of gas. 2. Bring a big water bottle! Sitting in hot water will dehydrate ya real quick.

When you arrive it can be a little confusing but don't be overwhelmed with the long walking trail! Overall our experience for first timers was great. We did have to walk a little and if your a first timer also like us you may want to be ready with some hiking shoes, warm clothes/swimming clothes if your using the hot springs and a happy motivation(: The hot springs pool overall is pretty smaller then expected but good maybe for couples if you need a nice date idea. The temperature is perfect if you land in the right spot. (Lower ones are better) would we do this again ? 10/10 yes.

No tables or BBQ grills, but there were fire rings. No bathrooms either, which is slightly problematic as there aren't any secluded areas to pee out of sight of the other campers (unless you hike a ways across the road). Other annoyances included the incessant sound of gunshots (I think there was a firing range nearby), the sound of small aircraft buzzing (must be an airstrip nearby -- combined with the gunshots, sounded like a battlefield) and the constant whir of motors from rednecks' gold-panning equipment sucking and filtering river water in search of gold flakes. Aside from all THAT....really, it was a pretty good spot to camp. It was F R E E !!!!

It's not really a far drive out (approximately just 2 hrs) but the rough road which started I think at Ola, Idaho made it long (about an hour; pls note we are pulling a trailer). Beautiful campground with a thick forest & wide lake! They have great bike trail/hiking trail along the river, not paved but it's an easy one that our 10 year old can follow! We also explored the oh so green forest! We did kayak in the river & swam. The lake is clean, several beach spots but not sandy, just muddy. Boats can only have a speed limit of 15mh, I think the river is just meant for a fishing boats, kayaks or paddle boards though there was a boat there that drove more than 15 mph. They have few camp sites so you need to reserve months in advance, husband did in February. No cell service & no internet/wifi was a plus, I think camping is meant to be like that, we disconnect to connect! No electricity, water & sewer hook ups, but we only stayed for 3 days & 2 nights that we were able to exhaust our water just right & filled our sewer just right. Overall a great camp out! We will definitely visit again!

We spent two afternoons here fishing and playing! The highlight was sitting at the edge of the dock…read moretrying to catch some fish! It is absolutely beautiful out on the lake, and the views can't be beat. Here are some thoughts/recommendations for your visit: -The dock is NOT the place to fish with young children. It sways back and forth and kids are likely to fall in if they aren't watched carefully! Also be careful- there is lots of bird and deer poop on the dock! -It's hard to guess what might make the fish bite. Salmon eggs seemed to attract the most fish, but we still only caught one. We tried worms and fishing cheese as well. -The playground is really fun for kids, but the grassy area is filled with poop that make it hard to walk safely -The parking is so close to the lake, which was awesome!! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here, and would recommend a visit! It's not a terribly far drive from Boise, either.

This is a great pull through site. It is very clean throughout the RV park, pool area, laundry, and…read moreshower/bathrooms. They sell propane on their site too. They have a well kept pet area. This place is big to get some dog walking in. There is a Maverick gas station across the street with the best diesel price that we found. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only negative is you do hear loud traffic due to a major road if your up by the office. It is close to the highway, which makes it easy for exiting and entering.

Country Corners RV Park is a nice RV Park. We stayed 4 nights here. We like all the trees and green…read morespaces, the pull through spaces, the new river rock like stone throughout the park. They have a very nice picnic area with 2 grills, firewood, and picnic tables. The spaces are fairly long, not too wide, but we had enough room to put out all of our slides. We had a grassy area to the right with a picnic table and a nice tree for some shade in the heat of the day. There is a nice area for tents. There are two restrooms and 8 private showers. All of the staff were nice as were the other campers. No issues with loud noise at all. We will definitely stay again when our travels bring us this way. Around the area....shopping and anything you might need is in Boise about a half hour away. We went to Lucky Peak State Park. It has a river, a lake and a dam, and a nice sandy beach. There's a nice grassy area at the park with tables for picnics. The drive is beautiful and not too long. Majestic mountain views.
