Delicious and creamy filling with crispy shells. So so good! Love the large size too. Chocolate Chip Cannoli was the best thing here! Balance of the chocolate chips and the ricotta filling with the shell was perfect. The mini ones were perfect for trying out different flavors. Husband tried the classic, chocolate chips and pistachio. Also got the Pistachio Lover. I think this was a bit too sweet. It had a white chocolate with starsheo coating around the shell, pistachio filling on the inside and more chopped pistachios on top. So I think overall it just got too sweet. Sister also ordered the Arancini and it was nice. Crispy and warm and quite big as well!

They had a good, large selection of gelato for me to choose from. The service here was quite prompt and friendly, so I didn't have long to wait even though there was a language barrier and I was concerned about being snubbed when I first came here. So I was much relieved when THAT didn't happen. Very good, refreshing gelato. My favorite was definitely the hazel and tiramisu flavors. I also really those adorable little mousse cakes. Light, fluffy, airy, these desserts are not like the massive bombs of sugar you get in the States. It reminded me of a Kinder Bueno candy bar...but in a mousse cake form.

Since we decided to dine-in, they were able to seat us at a table outdoors right away. Note that the prices are €6 for dine-in and €5 for takeaway. I did like that they presented the tiramisu on a plate to dine-in with a nice presentation. I was also seated next to the conveyor belt of tiramisu, which was fun to watch for a bit. I will say that service was a bit slow for dining it. I ordered the #8 Pistachio with Coconut while the husband had the #95 Whiskey & Dark Chocolate flavor. That whiskey was definitely strong in there. Their flavors are on point and the tiramisus are delicious. I just felt the service was lacking a bit with how busy they are. It's definitely a fun spot to try all the unique variety they can make into tiramisu though.

I loved the generous amount of pistachio cream and pieces on top, and the tiramisu itself had a good coffee flavor and a nice amount of ladyfingers. I also tried a bit of the classic and chestnut one, which I also thought were good.

While the classic version is rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, what really sets Pompi apart is the incredible variety of flavors. From pistachio and strawberry to banana-chocolate and other seasonal creations, there's something for everyone. Each flavor is light, fresh, and made with high-quality ingredients without being overly sweet. The portions are generous, making it perfect to share--or keep all to yourself! The staff was friendly, service was quick, and it's an ideal stop for a dessert break while exploring Rome. If you're visiting the Eternal City, don't leave without trying Pompi's tiramisu. Five stars for flavor, quality, and giving a delicious twist to one of Italy's most iconic desserts!

The store wasn't busy, so the process was quick as well. First, you order and pay in the back counter. Then you'll get a ticket to claim your tiramisu at the display case. We got one Classic Tiramisu (€5), which was perfectly boxed up. I like that they sprinkled the pistachio one only when you order, so it keeps it fresh and crunchy. The coffee flavor is strong and creamy. Even days later, it tasted just as good too, especially with the flavor soaked into the ladyfingers. It's the perfect treat while exploring Rome or to take back to your place to enjoy afterwards.

Legendary Roman Ice Cream…read more * * * La Romana has been around since 1947. That does not make it the oldest gelateria by a long shot. But 1947 puts La Romana in the "senior class" for sure. That means almost 50 years of driving thousands of people insane with pleasure from utterly amazing ice cream. That is a good way to spend 50 years. * * * Most Italian Gelato places are very consistent. If one flavor is good, they all are good. If one flavor is fake or artificial, they all are fake and artificial. That said - despite La Romana's full range, The establishment is known for one distinctive flavor that is very much their signature. Crema dal 1947. Crema dal 1947 is absolutely and utterly insane. It is an eggnog custard gelato subtly flavored with lemon zest. It is the most creamy dreamy lemon cloud dessert every made by any human being. Just to get an appropriate placement within the lemon family, I paired it with a plain lemon gelato. Rome has absolutely amazing lemons. Plain lemon gelato almost anywhere is die-and-go-to-heaven good. Putting eggnog custard creamy dream Crema dal 1947 With bracing in-your-face screaming lemon-lemon-lemon traditional gelato Was like pairing Margot Robbie as Barbie with Amy Winehouse singing her soul out. Both were absolutely perfect for what they are. I want to have that ice cream cone tonight, tomorrow, the day after that, the day after that and every other consecutive day for the next consecutive 50 years. When La Romana becomes 100 years old, I can think about changing flavors. But it is hard to argue with perfect perfection.
