SCG has a large amount of gaming space in the back of the store that does not obstruct the shopping area. The large selection of trading cards including sports and collectable card gaming items is located on the left side of the store, with most behind the counter. SCG has a large selection of board games and Lego sets, with a good selection of pop vinyl's. Various table top gaming items are also available. Comic selection is primarily budget long boxes that are well organized, with some premium boxes, wall books, and a limited selection of new pulls available. Has a large selection of graphic novels. SCG Hobby is the best general hobby shop in the Altoona area and absolutely worth a stop.

The game cartridges are much easier on the pocketbook here. Compared to the national game stores and big box stores, the prices, on average, are anywhere between $2-$5 cheaper. Not bad, especially when a lot of these games have not been on sale for quite some time. They also sell refurbished laptop computers here. All seemed to be updated with the newest operating systems and are ridiculously priced (on the cheap side, not more expensive). I had no clue this was an actual place to buy batteries of all sorts. You may think that this looks like a garage from the outside, and you would be right and for good reason. When I say he deals with nothing but batteries, I mean all types of batteries. That includes vehicle batteries and I believe they are installed in house. I walked in after my search for a battery elsewhere did not pan out. I told the gentleman what I needed. He grabbed one and I asked if this would be the same as the one the appliance I needed it for. Just to be sure he did a quick look up on his computer to make sure the two were interchangeable.
