As soon as you walk in you are met with that harsh fluorescent light that makes this whole place feel dirtier. I know it is a Salvation Army, but do they just not clean them? Like, once Salvation Army takes over a spot it's like all maintenance goes out the window. Floors don't get scrubbed, walls get dented, there's always a musty smell. Then you have to try to get through their donations to find anything worth thrifting. Once you do, you need to make sure that the prices are reasonable. I searched through the clothing and gave up pretty quickly as I wasn't finding anything worth giving a second life to. I then went to the housewares section to see if I could find anything worthwhile and it felt like I was at a garage sale. I left after that.

I scored a white mid century leather ottoman for $4 (!!), 70s woven leather heeled sandals ($2.50), 3 vintage scarves ($0.25 each), a glass owl perfume bottle ($1.00), two gold mid century shop wall hangings ($0.25 each), flower power mod linens ($1.50) and an adorable vintage crewel needlepoint wall hanging.... All for under $12. The ladies working were kind enough to stay open for a little bit longer so I could shop. They were very friendly and said that the shop is struggling getting business so pleeeeease go visit so they can keep this amazing shop going! When we first walked in, I though it was a tiny little shop of knick knacks, post cards and toys. Boy was I wrong. There is a huge room behing that is filled with linens, cast iron pans, tea pots, fishing/hunting items, tools, cookie jars, hats, lunch boxes, kitchen utensils, and on and on. Beautiful crystal, decanters, pitchers, wall art, nursery items, pyrex, lamps. OK, you get the idea. The owner is an absolute doll. She told me to open drawers and look inside things because there was stuff everywhere. :D She also let us know there is a warehouse of items that are too large to fit in the store, like furniture and lawmowers and such. Maybe give them call if you are looking for something in particular to see if they have it available. From what I see in store, and what they seem to have elsewhere, they just may have what you need. Even if they don't have it, they can 'keep an eye open' for it when they are out on their buying trips. We did end up purchasing a few items. That's a few more than I planned. There is a gravel parking lot on the side of the building with a path leading from the lot to the entrance. The prices are good. If you are looking for something specific (set of dishes, a collectible, a ceiling light) or just like to wander, you should definitely stop in.
