And this medicine was not even a first choice for this type of infection back in 2005 - over 10 years ago!! I was horribly sick for several days until i researched the medicine and stopped taking it. They gave me a lot of attitude on the phone but then called in a new prescription, but i was very sick and wasted money on the first prescription which should have never been prescribed in the first place. After using the kiosk to check her in, we were called to the check in window. The miserable woman looked at me after I stated while I wanted her checked and said "Why would you bring her here? We can only do an EKG. We don't do blood work or other test." I stated I was unaware of that and left. She was very nasty! The fact that a child was denied services is unacceptable and I would NEVER go this facility again! I would encourage others to do the same!

The staff were all really warm and friendly. We were able to check in online to get an approx. appt time. They called me to do the pre registration over the phone which made check in when we arrived a breeze!! No paperwork at all to fill out as everything was already taken care of before we arrived! We were seen on time, my son was examined. They did a 5 min swap test and were able to determine he had strep throat and sent a prescription to the pharmacy right across the street and we were out of there in no time. When I got back to California from my East Coast visit, there was a letter from the VA waiting for me. The letter said that the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center was my new "Home VA." Apparently, when I visited, they had to create a chart for me, but then they neglected to "kick my records" back to California. I went to my local VA and explained the situation, they punched a couple of keys, and they fixed the situation. If you are here as a visiting veteran, make sure that they send your records back to your home VA. Just a minor glitch, I would still use this VA again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

Been to a few other VA medical centers, and this is the cleanest most organized hospital I've ever…read morebeen to. I am treated with courtesy and dignity, and my issues listened to. They are 55 miles away, but we go there. I trust their capability and appreciate the attention to my problems. The only issue I had was their obvious right wing leanings and pushy about religion- based on the TV channels always on, like FOX news and the 700 club. I find that offensive and complained about it. Now clickers are left out so patients can change it. Occasionally the older angry vets verbally express themselves quite loudly and offensively, but we just leave the area. The staff themselves are attentive, friendly, professional and helpful. Much appreciated.

AVOID THIS URGENT CARE AT ALL COSTS - Completely Unprofessional and Negligent!! I've never written a negative review before, but my experience with this urgent care was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to share it. I visited on February 5th for vertigo and was met with a series of issues that reflect gross mismanagement and disregard for patient care. 1. Two-Hour Wait in a Room With No Explanation After being taken into a room, I sat for two full hours without any communication from staff. No updates, no nurse, no doctor--just left sitting there. That alone would have warranted concern, but unfortunately, it only got worse. 2. Wrong Blood Test Results As someone on an immunosuppressant, my white blood cell and vitamin D levels are always low--this is well-documented. The results they gave me were completely normal, which immediately raised red flags. I followed up with my neurologist the next day and had my labs redone. Sure enough, the new results matched my usual levels--not the ones provided by this urgent care. This suggests either a mix-up or a serious error in reporting results. 3. Prescription Nightmare I was prescribed Zofran for vertigo I have been having for days and was told it would be ready within an hour. The pharmacy never received the order. I had to call multiple times over FOUR DAYS (Wednesday through Saturday), and each time I was told it would be sent over. I finally got my medication five minutes before the pharmacy closed on Saturday. Absolutely unacceptable for something that should have been done the same day and was left dealing with my symptoms without medication. 4. Unauthorized and Mysterious Billing Then, on May 22nd (over 3 months later) I was suddenly charged $164 from my bank account without any prior notice or explanation. When I called, I was rudely told, "Well, that would be your deductible..." My deductible for urgent care is $50, not $164. And even if there was an issue, why wasn't I billed at the time of service instead of nearly four months later? I called to dispute the charge and was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. At this point, I've involved my lawyer because this kind of billing practice is highly questionable, if not illegal. This urgent care failed on every single level. Communication, accuracy of medical testing, timely delivery of care, and responsible billing. I should have written this review after the prescription fiasco, but the billing issue was the final straw. If you value your health, your time, and your money, go elsewhere. This clinic has demonstrated a complete inability (or unwillingness) to provide even basic patient care. They do not do their jobs, and I do not trust them, and definitely will never step foot in this place again.
