Absolute worst customer service. This company decided to cancel my insurance after 7 years with them without any heads up. Everyone I spoke to gave me conflicting and/or incorrect information. When I finally spoke to a manager (Hunter 237481) he was absolutely rude and condescending - reading me the letters they had sent as if I hadn't already read them, and constantly interrupting me and mansplaining rather than listening or answering any of my questions. He told me they don't have to provide information about what they don't cover nor let me know before they make a final decision to cancel my insurance. His attitude was basically telling me to f*ck off... Of course, a company can choose to do business any way they like, but this company would rather lose customers than do the right thing. I called, pressed #1 to say I wanted a quote and I was on hold for 40 minutes! Never got to speak to anyone. If that is what they do pre-sale, I can't imagine what it would be like if I had to talk with them about a claim. Quick update - I called them back, waited 5 min and got to speak to someone. It was a typical Sunday summer afternoon in Sacramento, which meant dealing with 100 something degrees of dry heat as a couple of good friends from out of town were running around to get some errands done. One of the errands included going into Big 5 for me to pick sandals for my white water rafting trip the next day, which I was excited about. Just right after I paid for my sandals, I searched for my keys in my pockets and they were nowhere to be found. So, I go back to my car and check - and I come to find out that my keys are safe as they were locked in my car! I managed to lock my friends and I out of my car while it's still running! I'm still not sure how I managed to pull that one off. Could it be the heat? Could it be the long hours put in at work? Could it be the debauchery of celebrating my 30th birthday all weekend long? Or could it be that I'm just sly!!!! No matter what the case, I knew what was sensible to do. Call my insurance and get a tow truck to open up my car - after all, I have GEICO! You know with the commercial with a gecko with an Aussie accent. I mean there are many good things that come out of Australia - i.e boomerang, the crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, and crazy chant! Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi! So, I did not doubt that my insurance will come through and save us from the Sacramento valley dry heat. I made the call and was informed it will take about 45 minutes for the tow truck to come, which was pretty standard from my experience in the past. No big deal, so my friends and I get to hang out and I hear the a little flack from them from my sly move! No big deal, I mean that's what good friend are for making fun of you for your stupid actions. So we wait and wait. After about 50 minutes of waiting, we saw about 3 or 4 tow trucks pass by wondering if that was the one. Nope! Then at the 1 hour 15 mins mark a man with a wireless earpiece pulled by in a 1991 maroon Acura Integra with a non-matching white hood and backside.... Hmm... sounds suspect! Then, he asked "Did you guys call for a roadside assistance?!" Puzzled - I said yes. I mean GEICO, really?!? really?!? The freakin GEICO Gecko sent a beat up 1991 Acura Integra to save the day! I expected a tow truck... I guess at the end of all this, I got my car door opened and my car keys in hand. But, I can't help to think about another GEICO commercial where there's a stack of money with googly eyes on top of them and the motto of "that's the money you could be saying with GEICO." At that moment, I realized that I didn't see the GEICO Gecko, but I did see the stack of money with the googly eyes yelling SUCKA! read more

I paid for my auto and motorcycle insurance 6 months ahead, I got a letter from DMV that I my motorcycle is not insured, I called GEICO inquiring what is going on, they reassured me that GEICO will take care of it, a month later I receive another notice from DMV stating my registration on my motorcycle is suspended and to reinstated DMV needs proof of insurance and $14 for their fees, I called GEICO again and request to talk to a supervisor, they couldn't explain why so the supervisor reassured me he personally will follow up and call me back the next day, NOTHING! no call back nothing! 3 weeks goes by I got another letter from DMV stating they did receive the insurance but I still own DMV a reinstatement fee of $14, so I go online and paid for it and called GEICO to reimburse me back they refused to stating it's not in their to adjust or reimburse any money to customers! read more

Stillwater Insurance through Geico cancelled our homeowners policy because we had a tiny pile of firewood stacked next to our fence along the side of our house and because we have a tree with branches hanging over the edge of our roof. They said the firewood was a trip hazard. When I called Stillwater Insurance they assured me they can make an inspection at any time per our contract. Their inspector entered the property and took photos by looking over the fence into our yard. They said they cancelled the policy because we have debris on our property.
