I'm sad that Geico has only 3 stars right now, so I'm here to give positive cheer!!! I originally had State Farm for Home and auto insurance, but I felt like it's time for a change. I wanted a cheaper rate and State Farm wasn't really working with me after 10 years if loyalty with them so I made the switch to Geico and surprisingly, I saved 15%!!! I know cheesy right. I spoke with a couple of different people there to get all set up but my main person I go to now is Jon. I've calling Geico a couple times earlier today because I received a letter in the mail about my home insurance getting cancelled. I was told they were getting slammed with back to back calls, and will receive a call back. After waiting for 2 hours, I still didn't get a call so I drove down to the office before they closed at 5pm. I have trust issues. I sat down with Jon getting ready to rip him a new one for making me waste time and gas, but he was so friendly and helpful! Hahaha! Sometimes it just takes a little bit of understanding and great customer service to calm down a raging Mylan *smiles* Confirming that it wasn't really cancelled, he advised that switching homeowners insurance can be a little hectic as mortgage companies aren't quick with changes to insurance. He also even went over my policy to make sure I understood what they covered. Jon didn't seem annoyed or even frustrated working with me because I asked a lot of questions. There are no stupid questions right? I'd really give this place a 4, but Jon's extra effort made me give it a 5. So switch to Geico and save some money!!!! read more

I was getting on my own auto policy for the first time and had lots of questions to make sure I got the right coverage. Spencer at GEICO is the only person that was kind and patient with me on the phone. Melissa on the other hand was very rude and inconsiderate. read more

GEICO penalized me after I was forced off the road by another driver, hit debris I couldn't safely avoid, and provided a police report, timestamped GPS data, photos, and a witness statement. Still deemed at fault. Be warned: they do not protect safe drivers in unavoidable situations. Will be switching companies when my policy ends if that's how they treat customers‍ read more

Over the last couple years, year over year our premiums have risen 30-50% on EACH policy. WITH NO CLAIMS! No accidents, no tickets, nothing that could justify this. This is across homes, rentals, and vehicles. Will happily be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I left Geico. There was no justification for my increases every renewal. The only excuse is your zip code, where you live, if you got a good driving record and no accidents. Doesn't make sense, Why should Geico check our individual driving record, if the rates are based on others record who live in a certain zip code? No zip codes seem to be exempt. read more

I am so glad that I talked to Shea about changing my car insurance. My previous company didn't look after my best interests. Thankfully I changed insurances and had Shea assist me 2 months after changing the insurance my child and husband were in a bad accident. I live in Park City Utah. My car and garage door met each other! I have never had such a positive experience with an insurance company. I have both home and auto with GEICO. They literally did everything for me. The car assessor, Sherri, called and came to my home the next day to look at my car. They got a photo of garage door and I had a check in the mail within days. My GEICO agent called the rental car company for me and the rental car person is picking me up at the auto repair location. This was 10 star service. I guess it may depend on where you are located but I will continue to be a loyal customer of GEICO for the future. Thank you to GEICO for making this experience so positive. read more

Geico (as a whole) is not customer centric. You save 15% upfront on your insurance premiums, but end up paying 20% more if you require any of the reasons you HAVE insurance. I got in a front-end collision. I reported the accident to the local authorities, and Geico. Everyone on the phone genuinely seemed concerned for me, and asked if I was okay, or hurt. I thought wow! this going to be great, they actually care! Maybe the claims department cared, cause working with the adjusters has being a fight the whole way. The representative I spoke with from the claims department asked me which shop I wanted to do the work, and told me they had no preferential shop. I told them the shop I would like to do the repairs, and they set up the tow. The repair adjuster did their initial estimate (only visual) and estimated $4k to fix the car, and 8 days repair time. I was told that the adjuster often worked with the brand (and similar brands) of car that had been wrecked. I was surprised. This was 2 days after the accident and didn't think anything of it. The shop estimated total repair cost was just under $13K, and roughly 57 days to repair. The repair shop sent me pictures of my car everyday to let me know where they were at during the repair. About two weeks later the manager of the shop called me to tell me Geico wouldn't approve the repair because Service King (a budget, chain body shop) estimated the repair cost just under $12K, and that in order to have the shop I chose do the repairs, Geico wanted me to pay the difference. I didn't have $2K to spend, and Geico knew that, as accidents aren't really something you prepare financially for, because that is what insurance is for. After a week of debating and discussing why Geico should pay for the body shop of the insured's choice (my choice) to do the repair. My rental reimbursement was already half way up, and if it really did take 57 days to repair the car, I couldn't sit around waiting for Geico to agreeing to pay the shop I chose to do the repair. I had looked at Service Kings reviews which were pretty bad in 10/2017. Also my car brand had extremely horrible reviews, and I didn't and never would trust Service King to do the repairs. The repair adjuster's manager was involved at this point, and asked "why would service king do a bad job". That question has now been answered as I got my car back 107 days after it the initial repair estimate was completed by the insurance adjuster. I took it to the shop I had originally chosen and had the car inspected. There were so many quality issues, and safety issues, and now it will take double the amount of money to fix, $26K and probably double the amount of time. I called the manager to let him know I had gotten the car inspected and that there were several issues. He immediately asked me who "authorized" the inspection. As it was still my car at that point, I told him I had authorized the inspection. He started chastising me, and telling me Geico wouldn't pay for the inspection, and that they couldn't promise that they would rectify the quality and safety issues. I was aghast.... I wouldn't have had to incur inspection costs, if I had my car worked on by a trusted shop. I requested that the manager meet me to look at the car, and the issues, thinking that when he saw how bad it was, he would apologize and start working on a solution. We met at the body shop that did the inspection. He got there before me, and had already looked over the car, and spoken with the technicians about the safety issues. He started speaking at me, saying things like "Geico can't and won't pay for the re-repair", "Geico can't pay egregious amounts for car repairs", "Geico isn't at fault", "I'll work with Service King to see what they can do", "I can't promise anything", "I don't know how or if Service King can do anything". I was not confident that the Geico really wanted to remedy the botched repair, or would work with Service King to make things right. I was left with uncertainity about whether or notI would have a car at the end of it (whatever "it" entailed). I have been without a car for 110 days, Geico covered 45 days (up to $1500) of rental reimbursement which is covered by my insurance policy (and I'm paying for). That left 65 days without a car during the initial repair and who knows how many more days I will be without a car during the re-repair. I do NOTrecommend Geico to any car owner, and especially a Tesla owner. This has been a nightmare. I have felt depressed and anxious about the whole situation, and I don't know what the road ahead will look like. read more

I am writing this about Geico ( As a whole) not one paticular agent. We decided to go with Geico after getting jerked around by Allstate,but we found out when we really needed Geico,we were left in the lurch,even though we pay extra money for,road side assistance and towing. We were treated like crap and charged a extra $65 dollars to get our truck home,because we didn't want to take it to a dealership 15 miles out of the way. FYI Don't use Geico their all talk and no action. They don't even deserve one star. :-( read more

Same as the other reviews. was with Geico for 7 plus years, only one minor claim it that time. When I wanted to add my teen driver, they wanted to quadruple my insurance. Canceled my policy and they only refunded a portion of what I deserved. They kept an extra month coverage. Terrible company. read more

I was calling to get a quote, total you know what answers the phone. She goes " I need to call you back in 2 minutes ok?" (Bitchy tone). An hour goes by. Same girl answers the phone. " oh I tried calling you three times" like it was my fault. Had the right number and everything. Proceeded to tell her she's needs to get her shit together. Geico insurance is difficult to work with and unprofessional. I was t-boned by their client that blew through a stop sign. Geico is claiming that 30% of the accident is my fault because I failed to "honk". I've never heard of a more ridiculous excuse in my life. They are liars and bullies. Several months ago I was "considering" being an Uber driver and called my insurance company (GEICO) to see how insurance works and if my policy would cover me. Geico told me they don't cover Uber or Lyft Drivers and that I would have to seek special coverage for that from a seperate company.... After that call, I found out that my car was too old anyway, im too stressed out for a second job, so I just forgot out it. Today I get a notice from GEICO that they terminated my policy (as of the 13th....thanks!) and thanked me for being a great customer. Panicked, I called GEICO to ask why I was dropped and they said "because you are an Uber driver and we can't cover you." I tried to explain that I was just inquiring about coverage should I choose to do that, but I never did. I even said "look at my policy, I drive a 2006 Chevy! its too old." I asked to speak to a supervisor and they wouldn't let me saying "we have a documented phone call where you said you are an Uber driver." What a load of crap!. I then thanked them for their great customer service and that I will tell as many of my 300 plus federal coworkers that I can not to use their company and hope their miscommunication was worth losing a customer and potentially others. read more
