In early November, my husband and I were in a car accident. A 16 year old girl who had just recently got her license ran through a stop sign and t-boned us. We contacted Geico, who this 16 year old girl is insured with, as well as our insurance. Geico told us that they couldn't help us until they did their investigation which we understood, but they were very rude from the start and acted like they didn't believe us about the accident. Geico called us back about a week later stating that they took liability and that they would be covering the cost of a rental vehicle for us as well as the cost of repairs for our car. We had a rental and were originally supposed to get our vehicle back on December 26th. December 26th rolled around and we called the shop where our vehicle is at, to which they told us that there was a mistake, and that our car would not be ready until the end of January. We called Enterprise to let them know that we would have the rental for that much longer and they informed us that Geico had stopped paying for our rental on December 14th and that there was an outstanding balance of over $300. We called Geico, to which they responded with, "Oh, we ASSUMED you had your vehicle back, so we closed your file and stopped paying for your rental." We asked to speak to supervisors, managers, ANYBODY, but were informed that no one was available. We have left MULTIPLE messages, called every. single. day. to try to get ahold of anyone of authority and our calls are ignored, or they tell us that they aren't going to do anything. THIS IS NOT OKAY. OUR insurance, Progressive, put us in a rental for an additional week, for free, no questions asked, when it is not even a LITTLE bit their responsibility. Geico is refusing to pay for the outstanding balance to Enterprise, and we do not have a rental anymore because our insurance has helped us out as much as they possibly could, and beyond that. We should not have to be dealing with this. We are not at fault for this accident, Geico's client is. They are not communicating, not helping, and they do not care whatsoever. We have been in contact with a lawyer and will be pursuing them. I wanted to spread the word about Geico because I absolutely DO NOT recommend using them. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more
