I've only been a patient for 2 days now and must say I'm happy with the level of care and service. I moved to Waukegan 2 years ago and my regular dentist is a 45 min drive south, I've decided to switch to Beautiful smile because of the shorter drive but most of all the awsome experience. Thank you Beautiful smile dental center.

My only visit with these greedy pigs was 07/07/2023. We'd spoken 3-4 times beforehand because they…read morerescheduled. I showed up 15 minutes early because I hadn't received the new patient paperwork they were supposed to email. When I handed the receptionist the completed paperwork she told me they needed a copy of the last set of full x-rays as my insurance only covers it every five years-or I had to pay an extra $150.00 out of pocket. They had ample time to establish this prior to the appointment. The receptionist then tells me that they don't check benefits until the day of the appointment because if they check in advance, insurance may expire before the appointment. HUH? Insurance can retro-deactivate at will.. I told her that I would be glad to reach out for the x-rays on their behalf but wouldn't be paying out of pocket. I also advised that the old DDS has staffing issues so it might take a while. She said that was fine and they could still do my cleaning. About 10 minutes later she called me back to the desk to ask if I was able to get the x-rays yet. WHAT? I explained that I wasn't in a position to make a call from their waiting room and would email the old DDS a request when I got home and normal turnaround time for a records release at least 5 business days. Then, some guy comes out of the back room and starts arguing that I need to get them for "legal reasons". That's BS and I don't appreciate being lied to. Then a 3d lady hops in and tells me that they can't ask the old DDS due to HIPAA regulations. Nothing is going to make a provider lose credibility faster than using HIPAA as an excuse for not doing their job, all they need is a signed release. They finally agreed to do their own set of full x-rays at no cost to me. The DDS asked me why I switched from my old DDS & I explained that they had too many staffing issues and she asked what I do for a living and if we ever have staffing issues (rude!). They also tried to up-sell me thousands in unnecessary treatment and made me sign a million waivers as intimidation. They also padded the bil for a $32.00 consultation fee-which insurance denied. So...fast forward to January 2024. For obvious reasons, I have a new DDS & I ask them for copies of my X-rays & this is the response they text me: Good Afternoon Dear Stacy, I have tried to contact you since I missed your call, sorry about that, I wanted to inform you that we are going to return the $52 to your insurance for the bitewings but you will have to pay for the complete set of your x-rays which, respecting the value of your insurance, is $105 since they would not cover that procedure on the day of your visit please call back at (847)249-5700 thank you. Anyhow, I very eloquently explained that I wouldn't be paying them a penny. The new DDS said not to worry about the copies of the X-rays and I was going to just move on but then a few days later I received the x-ray by mail. No letter, no explanation no, $0 statement. These people are just too unprofessional for words!

Do I need to repeat how amazing he is and impressed we are? And his staff is incredible! Last time it was Amy and Elizabeth, who directly assisted Dr. Cooper, and, of course, others helped too before and after the treatment. Truly amazing dentist and human, and truly kind and caring staff! Where do I begin?.. We came to Dr. Cooper to fix the mistakes of our former dentist. We were referred to him by our oral surgeon/implantologist. In his office waiting room we saw numerous diplomas of credentials and achievements along with numerous stories about his selfless service to patients and community, and we were impressed that the dentist with decades of experience and such great achievements was in our network, as many dentists we met before left networks as soon as they got well-established, so we knew that Dr. Cooper wasn't in it just for money. He spent plenty of time with us and temporarily fixed the shaking wrongly installed crown and installed a new crown and give us a discount (which we never asked for!), because he "felt bad for us." How amazing is that?! His numerous staff members were so friendly, as if we knew them for years, truly and genuinely friendly and helpful. We were so impressed that, even before he made an impression for a new crown, we told him that he had already made the best impression on us. :) Thank you Dr. Cooper and all your staff members: Amy, Carrie, Amber, Elizabeth, Gianna, Zainab, and Lydia, Jacki, Sebastian, and others.

Extremely rude behavior from either the dental assistant or receptionist. There was zero communication that I couldn't bring my children (plenty old enough to sit with their tablets). The dentist came, and said "how can we make this right" then immediately asked "so do you have someone to watch the kids". I have never been to any appointment where I was met with such ridiculously rude behavior. My children have attended many of my appointments for other medical needs. If you are ok with working with people who aren't the slightest bit willing to work with their patients, and be even slightly kind then this is the place for you! If you want to be met with basic respect, don't go. It's simple, and it makes a difference. Period. I'd like to update the review based on what would occur later BECAUSE I provided a transparent review. After I left this review, Ariata would then charge me $50 for a cancellation. The reason for me saying "I need to find a new dentist" and originally choosing to leave with my two children is I no longer felt safe. I couldn't in my right mind allow him to proceed with the appointment. When I saw the charge, I called to respectfully ask to reverse the charge and the dentist quite literally was yelling at me on the phone saying "I was going to do you a courtesy of walking out because of your circumstances BUT then I saw your review... f*** around and find out". I was appalled. This man was absolutely unhinged on the phone and accused me of things that never happened. He then began to insult me as a mother and accuse me of leaving my children unattended when, that never happened, and that was never something that I planned on happening. Ever. The "conversation" would continue to be him speaking aggressively and saying that he will not reverse the $50 charge. Throughout this conversation, my asks were very simple: please add clear communication to new patients and on your website that kids are not allowed in the office and second to please reverse the charge. That is it. Ultimately, it was an absolutely horrific experience and I write this to make others aware that if you attend or plan to attend this dentist office, please do so CAREFULLY.
