I paid my deposit and after a few weeks i started to feel really bad about it - it gave me a very uneasy feeling in my stomach everytime I thought about it - and then the more uneasy I felt - the more I thought about it to the point I couldn't sleep it worried me they would ruin my photos - they just didn't seem to be listening and I was allured by the price of their package. I went with my gut, against everyone's advice in the summer - I cancelled my contract, swallowed my deposit, and started my search again. Because I was getting married in only 3/4 months - on a very popular date (11/11) I didn't have many GOOD options left - and quickly was blowing through my limited options - even though they say beggars can't be choosers, I was expecting A LOT. I found Dawn online, and was IN LOVE with her portfolio - and I didn't really think she had my date available - but she did! I snached her up quickly before anyone else got to! We met with Dawn for the first time only a few short weeks before our wedding and we were in love with her. She really seemed to care about the details of our wedding, and that was important because I cared so much about all the small details of my wedding. We talked for a few hours and really felt like she was the perfect match for us. She showed up the morning of my wedding with her assistant Ashlyn. It was very important for us to have 2 photographers because we have 2 brides to focus on. Dawn was with me, and answered a lot of my questions about how things would go and all the wedding traditions. She such a pleasure to work with! and we had now booked separate photo and video companies - and they worked together like true professionals! you would swear the way they worked they'd be working for the same company. So in my bridal suite you had Dawn and my videographer moving couches and people's things around to get photos by the window. Meanwhile in my wife's bridal suite you had Ashlyn standing on the couches, laying over the videographer to get her shots. Dawn & Ashley wrangled up a bridal party of like 20 people and made sure we got our photos done quick in the cold without dealing with dilly-dallying from people. we called her "bubbly & on point!" which is exactly what she was. Everyone in our bridal party loved them because they were such a joy to work with. Also my wife had an allergic reaction to her makeup, and dawn said she will try her hardest to fix it for our wedding photos, and she DELIVERED! because my wife was like crying she was going to look ugly in all the pictures. Dawn did an amazing job at getting the photos with her head angled so you didn't notice, or get it far away so it didn't look bad at all. Our wedding photos are SO beautiful! and we are so incredibly thankful that we hired Dawn Joseph Photography for our wedding!! We've hosted numerous events here and used them to cater other events. But what made me finally…read morewrite a review was after we had the fish and mixed vegetables catered for a luncheon event yesterday. First it should be said that it was a real pleasure to interact with everyone there. From father to son to various other folks that help there. Anyway - about yesterday - we got two large pans of the fried fish and a large pan of the mixed vegetables. I was the organizer for the luncheon and so didn't get to eat. The fish as usual was just fantastic (their fried fish is "A--mazing" as my friend put it). But the mixed veggies didn't get eaten (the luncheon was Jamaican themed and we had two other Jamaican vegetables there as well). So I brought the veggies home with me. Because I didn't eat all day I was pretty famished when I get home. I don't know if it's the Danish or Italian in me or just maybe because my father was this way - but when I'm hungry I just eat stuff without warming it (all kinds of stuff). So I dipped a fork into the, now cold, veggies and O M G - the veggies were just amazing. So I heaped a plate full of cold veggies and scarfed it down. It was so good that I had to call LaNeves to let them know. I also scarfed down about 4 pieces of fried fish (cold also). It was so good. You can just imagine how delicious it is when all fresh and warm, especially if it that good cold. So I'm going on about the veggies - but the fried fish is even better - you just have to try it. Sooooooooo good. I recommend this place for your events (both dining in and catering). The food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. Oh, and by-the-way, all the food was ready on schedule. Hot and fresh! You just gotta try it.
