I can't recommend Dr. Garent and her staff enough…read more I first met her when I had to be rushed to the ER on Rock Prairie for severe abdominal pain. After hours of poking and prodding me and suggesting I had an STD or cancer (I didn't) and making me feel generally horrible my mother rushed in from San Antonio and demanded my physician be changed and that an OBGYN be put on my case because my pain was near my ovaries (she's a nurse). Dr. Garent rushed in, did a quick examination and within minutes found out I simply had cysts. After that incident, I started seeing her to follow-up on my condition and for general well-women care. My cysts have been completely healed and her Ultrasound tech and herself were able to identify another condition I had that would have surely led to a miscarriage in the future if it went undiagnosed. She humbly admitted that it was a condition she had little experience with and recommended I see a specialist. Once I found one, herself and her staff did a great job transferring my records and communicating with the specialist. She is constantly booked months out with appointments because she is so awesome, so do make sure to book your annual exam months ahead. Even though I now live in Houston, I still go to see her in College Station. Also, her nurse Robyn ROCKS. She freely gives out samples of BC you are prescribed to if you are a student and tight on cash.

She's fun, easy going, caring and very diligent. She always puts her patients first! I trusted her with my pregnancy 100% and never ever felt the need for a second opinion. Not to mention her nurse Robin is the best! Together they are phenomenal! My due date wasn't until Feb.17th but because she had to go out of the country and wouldn't be back until after my due date, she arranged for me to be induced the day before she left. During my labor she checked on my frequently and after my daughter was born she gave me and all of my family hugs and congratulated us! She left for Brazil the very next day, so throughout my hospital stay I was under the care of Dr. Zivney, who was also very wonderful and attentive. The thing I love most about this Dr's office, is that each Dr. covers for one another if the other one is out. It's my experience that they all give excellent care, so you're in great hands no matter who you see! The staff is helpful and courteous, and the office is always very clean! It's in a great location and right next door to the hospital which is very convenient!

It was one of the most traumatizing medical experiences of my life that has caused immense anxiety and PTSD. 2018: I am absolutely overwhelmed and exhausted from how I've been treated the past several months from the staff at BVWC. When I walk in, I feel like it's a factory pumping out babies. I'm not sure why these women bring their husband, cousins, siblings, and eight children to their pap smear appointments, but it's absolutely uncomfortable for other women who are just trying to have a simple doctor's appointment. The waiting office is a playground for unsupervised children running around and screaming at the top of their lungs. Like most adult doctor offices, I suggest that BVWC implements a policy (and enforces it) where unattended children are not allowed and they're only allowed to bring so many guests with them. Your great grandparents do not need to go to your ultrasound, ladies! Respect other women's privacy, and BVWC should strongly enforce that!!! I will admit that they made my Nexplanon implantation a positive and smooth experience compared to my previous gyno office, and the nurse practitioner was absolutely amazing. Later, I was having painful and long-lasting reactions to the Nexplanon and I wanted to speak to a doctor face to face about it, but the office staff would constantly pressure me into settling with just talking to a nurse. Doing so ended up getting me prescribed on pills that only made me sick. My regular doctor took me off of those pills and actually explained why my reaction was happening and it sounds like it was just negligence on BCWC nurse's part. Next, I had an appointment Tuesday where I was told that I would have results by Friday at the latest. Instead of reaching out to their patients as a professional office staff should and inform them of a delay in results, I had to call them about my test results myself. I find it unprofessional that the doctor gave me false information about testing, and that I have to beg for my own results, but I digress. I was told by the nurse trying to find my test results that the lab will definitely have results by the Saturday. Now Monday at 3:30 pm l called multiple times trying to figure out the test results. Nurse Melissa copped a major attitude with me on the phone when I was trying to explain the necessity of knowing the results. I'm extremely disappointed in how this office has made me feel neglected and ignored. I can't believe I have to demand test results by threatening to report to the medical board. Absolutely ridiculous, sickening, and repulsive. The last straw and the worst part was after I posted this initial review, Dr. South called me personally told me that my "review is not correct" and was extremely rude and unprofessional towards me from the very start of the phone call. I think grabbing my cell phone number from my medical file and aggressively confronting (or rather, harassing) me, a patient who has had a negative experience in your office, about their review is inappropriate, traumatizing, not ethical, and severely dangerous. Dr. South also claimed that I'm taking my problems out on them, but I'm not sure how lack of communication of your office's part is my fault, but it's interesting that a medical professional would not take blame for her office's misbehavior. I'm assuming Dr. South did not take a minute to realize that everything I was told about my test was from HER and HER nurses. It's not my fault that your nurse told me the wrong information. After pointing out Dr. South's rude tone, aggressive behavior, etc. on the phone, she did agree to try to help me as best she could, but a patient shouldn't have to beg a medical professional for help. What she did by harassing me over my review was the farthest from professionalism, and I, a grown adult, had to stand up against her as if she was a middle school bully. I was never the enemy; I was a concerned and frustrated patient that was thrown to the side.

I lucked out with not only a great doctor, but also a fantastic office staff. I made my initial appointment just to meet the doctor so I would already be an established patient if & when I needed one. I didn't have to wait very long & I really liked everyone I dealt with, from the front office staff, to the nurse, & also the doctor. I was advised to get my flu shot (which I did) & the doctor also recommended that I get a mammogram. Dr. Pierce went through my medications with me & she let me know that one of them isn't safe. I've since read about it & I'm grateful for her advice. I scheduled a mammogram for the next week & it was nothing. Unfortunately, they found something that required another scan & an ultrasound. I worried myself sick over it & actually got sick. The day of my 2nd scan I also got an appointment with Dr. Pierce because I had fever & a horrible cough. Thankfully, everything turned out okay with the mammogram & ultrasound. When I went to see Dr Pierce afterwards she told me I could have called & spoken with her instead of worrying myself into an actual illness. It had never even crossed my mind. It's so refreshing to have a doctor who cares & is approachable! I gambled on picking a primary care physician & I definitely won!
