Now, I have to admit that I'd never been in here before as I'd assumed that it was a shop for older people. Within the first 10 seconds I realised how wrong I'd been when I spotted Vero Moda (one of my favourite brands) and then some French Connection - what have I been missing all this time?! Their range is actually probably more suited to women in their 30s-40s and they have some really great stuff, so much so I am definitely treating myself to a full-on shopping session here soon. The prices are what you'd expect for these kinds of brands, and they're having a sale just now. It's all women's clothes and accessories and they have a good range for the size of the shop. I'm definitely kicking myself for overlooking it all this time!

I love bags, I love hats, I'll find any excuse to buy a new scarf. And yet, this place is never the first, or even third, place I'll go to look for such items. I think it goes back to when I was younger and couldn't afford to shop here, but there must be something more. No matter how hard I try, though, I can't seem to put my finger on it. Don't get me wrong, they have lots of lovely items from which to choose. Their bags are great and often a little bit different or unusual - nothing like the same old Primark totes that everyone in Glasgow is dragging around. Accessorize is probably a great place to impulse buy all sorts of rings and gloves and purses; but I haven't really given it that chance. I think my problem is that I go here when I have money, not to browse. Whatever my issue is, Accessorize remains a great high street shop with a huge selection of all manner of accessories. If nothing else, it's great for window shopping.

Luckily I stumbled upon Accessorize on Buchannan Street and their ample selection of fascinators (that's the bird-like things) which started at very reasonable prices. The shop itself it is a good one too- it's much bigger than your average Accecorize store with bigger selections of jewellery, hair things, bags, some shoes, and now that winter's on its way- hats, gloves and scarves!

It's women's clothing and seems to be kinda pricey - dresses for £100+ but I do have to admit, they seem to be high quality and classy kinds of clothes, so I can see who they're marketing towards. High powered real estate ladies, I think. Or along those lines, anyway. I'm not saying that's bad, it's just not my style so I wouldn't shop here. The shop assistant working was really friendly though, so I was made to feel perfectly welcome which was nice. As well as clothes, they had a nice range of handbags so maybe I'd go back for those.

It's a little confusing because the window display is like you'd see at a jewellery store, so don't let that put you off if you're looking for a present. Inside they have a pretty big range of stuff - teddy bears seem to be a main feature as there's a whole wall of them (Charlie Bears). They're also pretty expensive! They also sell watches and then other collectable items. If you knew someone who liked collecting figurines then this could be a good place to shop. Personally, it's not my kind of stuff but the staff were friendly enough while we browsed.

I was greeted by an enthusiast shop assistant who quickly picked up on the fact that I was a woman on a mission, I knew what I wanted and I wasn't there to mess about. He sat me down, went through the details with me, got me the phone and got all the paperwork signed up. He was chatty, friendly, didn't try to push me into any deals I didn't want and got the phone to me, super fast. I liked this, a lot. I decided to buy an extra charging cable (damn you Apple for changing the connecting plugs) as well as a cover, which had 20% off on a promo O2 were running. He even set up my phone for me which I appreciated (nice wee timesaver!) I left the shop a short time later (it honestly felt like 10 minutes, but I think it was a little longer) with my phone ready to go in its new case, my number already transferred over (thanks O2) and with a smile on my face. I'm not quite sure what could elevate this review to 5 stars, but let's just say I don't really feel all that "Woohoo!" about going into a phone shop, so I'm happy to give it a well deserved 4 star review.

Eric N Smith is owned and run by Eric and his wife Yvonne and they are actual, proper, genuine jewelers in that they know everything there is to know about different precious metals and stones. This family travel across the globe to find the best materials to use in their stunning jewelry. As well as selling their own designs, Eric N Smith also stock some top of the range brands such as Faberge, Montblanc, Breitling, Gucci and Bulgari. When I visited the store looking for a unique ring to celebrate my 21st an assistant sat with me for at least an hour while I hummed and hawed over what I wanted. She was extremely knowledgeable and was very mindful of my limited budget of £100. I ended up with a beautiful silver ring in a really unusual shape with a lovely green peridot stone in it. I had picked the metal, the band and the size, shape and colour of the stone for myself, with the help of the assistant, and I am happy to know that no-one else will have a ring exactly like mine. Next time you are in the market for a piece of jewelry for yourself or a loved one consider trying Eric N Smith instead of heading for the usual Links Of London and Pandora type stores. You're guaranteed to get something special which will make a great, unique heirloom someday.

Pep & Co is a new chain clothing store which has opened all around the UK recently…read more I popped in for a brief visit so I could suss it out. First of all - it is very cheap. Most stuff seemed to be under £10 and while this store at the Avenue is kind of wee, it still has a family-sized range of stuff. I can't comment too much on it as I didn't buy anything, so I don't know if it's actually decent quality. I'd sum it up as a tidier Primark for families. I can't really see myself shopping here as they didn't really have anything in my kind of style, but maybe I'd pop in to get seasonal kids stuff for my nephews/niece and accessories.

My grandson aged 5 has tried on the trousers I bought for him, he needed age 7 to 8 so you need to be aware that some of the sizes are very small. You know what you're getting with New Look - cheap fashion which is pretty trend-orientated and aimed at teens/early 20s. On this visit I was looking for a dress and actually struggled to find anything that I liked - maybe dresses aren't in fashion just now? In the end I found one which was a decent price (under £20) and they had the full range of sizes. Service was fine, friendly and helpful. Of all the shops at The Avenue this is the one I'm most likely to shop in for fashion/accessories, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

One of these such stores is Karen Millen. Although a little over budget for the majority of high street shoppers - Karen Millen is a heavenly shop with heavenly clothes. Tailored, stylized and good quality - this place proves your Mum true when she said "you get what you pay for." This particular Karen Millen store is a really great size and stocks a large range of clothing. Worth a visit!

Every time I wander in I feel like a kid in a sweet shop - I would love to have a wardrobe full of dresses from here, but sadly, I don't. Everything is so glamorous and you'll also find shoes, handbags and other accessories to match your outfit. Unfortunately, everything is really pricey and my student budget doesn't stretch that far but one day one of the amazing dresses modelled in the various eye-catching window displays will be mine! There's also a smaller concession of Karen Millen in House of Frasers but for the full experience you definitely have to venture across the road.

The location is quite handy as well, being right in the middle of Paisley.
