The staff are always friendly and very chatty, and the owner always goes out of his way to welcome you. We all know it's incredibly hard to find a decent hairdressers/barbers wherever you live, and once you have you hang on to it for dear life. Croppers, for me, is that barbers. The only gents' hairdressers I've been into that consistently cuts my hair excellently and so competently. The staff are a great bunch of guys too. If I ever move away from Norwich (which I probably will do soon), Croppers is one of its establishments I'll miss a great deal.

Don't be thinking of red leather chairs and chrome design touches, this place looks like its straight out of a 1970s brown and beige office furniture catalogue. While the staff are friendly and prices reasonable, the experience is made to feel more like an inevitable chore than a stylistic endeavour. While my barber did seem to take notice of what I requested, he kept me waiting for 15 minutes before getting started, and was painfully slow when I did make it into the chair - pausing multiple times to tell me another thrilling anecdote. The quality of the work was patchy - quite literally. Lets be fair, it wasn't terrible but I could have probably done just as good with the kitchen scossors in the 45 minutes it took! It's not a good sign that the first thing I did when I left was set an iPhone reminder to book in at my regular barbers in two weeks time. As the name suggests, this place is a no nonsense joint for no nonsense men. That might be just fine for the OAP and school boy who were being seen to when I arrived, but if, like me, you like your hair to be something more than mereley an extravogant head-warmer, I'd give this one a wide berth.
