Very elegantly decorated with classical black and white contrast and ornate chandeliers, in keeping with the desired contemporary glamour and ambience of the bar. There is also an outdoor cigar terrace if that takes your fancy so it's definitely a throwback to the decadent 1920's! Excellent selection of drinks but some can be relatively pricey (particularly their speciality drinks but this would be expected). A glass of champagne starts at £6.90 and whiskeys or draught beers from £4.20. Wine is the usual price for city centre indulgence. The cocktail list looked really interesting and I'd be keen to sample next visit! The only criticism I currently have is the lack of seating or even perches for your drinks....lots of people left standing which seems to work in a pub but takes the shine off this bar. Maybe it's worth a visit midweek as I did attend on a busy Saturday night. Also bear in your mind your attire as it's certainly not the destination of choice if you're a jeans and boots girl like me!

The bar is also round the corner from the booth so as the Hosts bring round the champagne and sparklers they have to walk through the dance floor which means all eyes on you. i've stayed there for the last three years for 4 nights, as i participate in the great north run…read moreevery year & i've really enjoyed my stay there. the service is very good and the staff are very welcoming. the pub has a whole range of beers at the average price. the breakfast area is nice & very clean, the staff ask you what you would like to eat & drink as soon as you are seated. my stay there been over the years has been very good, you definately get what you pay for. there are quite a few restaurants + a morrisons supermarket within a few minutes walk. you can get a bus to sunderland city centre, which is just 10-15 mins away, right outside on the seafront. overall a very good experience!

They serve food from there set menus the food have have had here has been nice and drinks are not bad prices. They have pool tables and darts and show all the football matches on big screens so if you want a quiet drink i would stay away on match days as it gets packed out with supporters and you will be lucky to get throught the door. Also the toilets have also been very clean every time i have been which is always nice for us ladies.
