(Especially on days of a swim meet or tournament). Pro tip: do NOT park your car at the neighbouring seemingly empty lot- it belongs to ford, and they are NOT friendly neighbours. Your car will get towed without a warning. This community centre is spacious and clean. Everything is easy to find. The gym is gigantic and stretches far beyond my eyes. The pool is 50m, worked by beautiful and hardworking lifeguards (lol just kidding, shameless plug). Both areas have plenty of seating for viewers. The hallways are large and extensive, so don't be afraid to wander around. There's also a fitness centre overlooking the pool. It's kind of small and lame but I rarely see it packed, so I guess it'd be a good idea. It's not great for lifting, but it has a lot of equipment for such a small gym. The regulars are usually older adults, trying to get some exercise in.

The parking and accessibility of it was terrible though, since the walk from the parking lot to the building is far and I can definitely imagine that being inconvenient for some people or even just during the winter season with all the snow and slush. The inside is very airy and spacious with tons of natural light. The building is also brand new now, so all the facilities are great!

A lot of people have the WowFactor when they walk in because it's huge! Entering in the main blue doors, there is a mini area where the vending machines, offices, changerooms and washrooms are before you enter the revolving doors and into the dome. There are two individual washrooms here - they usually do a pretty good job of cleaning these up because a lot of kids use these and kids seem to have a difficult time using washrooms sometimes. It used to be a little unclear for people, but please push the door to the right because when one person pushes the door to the left, the dome will begin to deflate and also, the correct direction of the door will become stuck. Inside the dome, it's fake grass so it works year-round and it's equipped with two large nets and four mini nets for younger children. There are soccer balls available and is used with the City of Markham and Unionville Milliken Soccer programs. Many other people who rent the dome will need to bring their own soccer balls.

This soccer dome is pretty standard - 4 change rooms, plenty of bleachers to spectate, and 2 benches for the teams to sit on. The net are miniature compared to outdoor, but that's expected. The ceiling is pretty high (higher than Mt. Joy), and so the ball rarely goes out of bounds in this manner. The field is a good size and allows for a nice game of 7v7. The only negative about this place is the parking. There are very few parking spots in their parking lot - probably only enough for 1 team's cars; however, there's a McDonald's parking lot right across that has plenty of space.

I have spent time doing work here to change things up. There is free wifi and places to sit down to work. I did that well before the pandemic, so I'm not sure what things are like these days. This community centre used to be a voting poll. I have cast my vote a bunch of times over the years, but it seems to have been cast off the voting poll island in recent years. Armandale Community Centre took over that roll, except for our recent federal election. Pacific Mall took over, which was nice and weird. The washrooms aren't the cleanest here. The last time I used the women's washroom, it was disgusting. I hope that things are better these days. There is a large pool. If you are a parent, you can watch your kids swim from afar through windows. These days, I simply go through the McDonald's drive-thru. Depending on how hungry I am, I'll either park and eat, or take five minutes to drive home. Recently, it was the former. Afterwards, I threw my garbage out. The recycle and garbage area is in front of the main entrance. There is also a recycling depot here, just behind McDonald's. You can drop off Styrofoam from electronics and appliances, which I had to do recently. I liked how the Pool sign was missing the letter l in front of the main entrance. Milliken Mills High School is next door. Perhaps a student there decided to cause some mischief. I enjoyed the laugh! (385)

Post-Pandemic, my old gym…read moreincreased their prices 3Xs and didn't bother to honour my membership cost as a client of many years, so I had to take my business elsewhere! Looking at the gyms within a 10 - max 15min - drive, there weren't many options for me. The nearby chain gyms were just way too crowded/younger, bro crowd and the other box gyms were CrossFit places which wasn't what I was looking for. So weighing my options, I decided to sign up at my local community centre. Despite being an older centre, this place basically has everything INCLUDING group classes like yoga, Zumba, and a bunch of other things. The centre itself has a pool, skating rink, courts for pickleball, basketball, and a weight room. Outside, there's a skate park, basketball court, beach volleyball court, & various soccer fields. Of course, it's surrounded by various parks, trails, and there's even a private tennis club around the back. So far, so good, people at the front desk seem very nice. Of course the experience of the classes will vary depending on the instructor. And right now, the fitness classes aren't in a stellar studio due to kids Summer camps taking over the entire place! So hopefully that'll change once the kiddos are back to school. Membership prices are MORE than reasonable and they even include the fitness classes which is an absolute bonus! Weight room is small, but every time that I've walked by, it is almost empty. No one filming themselves or annoyingly flexing in the mirror to check if the few pumps of iron has made their arms grow! It's an older crowd, but at this point, I welcome that as opposed to the former gym bro crowd. There is also a discount for Seniors AND if another family member signs up!

I normally hate writing bad reviews but this is the only gym where I have seen such lazy behavior…read morefrom the staff members. the reason why I liked this club is because it's just for women's and barely anyone is inside the gym (which is great for this time period). HOWEVER the staff here are extremely rude (expect for the older lady with the blond hair) and from my point of view they get paid for being on their phone. No matter how nice you are to them, they always give you attitude... Also I want to point out that no one wears a mask here except for the staff, and "wiping down the machines" doesn't do much. It only makes the next person who uses it feel a bit better that it is SLIGHTLY cleaned. I have also seen them "clean the Machines after everyone is gone, and it is complete nonsense. The alcohol spray misses big chunks of the machine and it doesn't get cleaned properly. Overall I won't be coming to this gym in a while and I hope they fix this mess that has been going on for the last two years I have been here.

I use the free trial week pass to try out this Goodlife Fitness Club…read more This is one of those Women only health club on top of Loblaws. I was there just asking the price, tour the facilities and get some information and they make you talk to one of their counsellor and you have to tell them your "life history" in order to able to get the different price structure.. but at least I have the 1 week trial pass to try out the facilities. This is smaller than most of the gyms I been too, the machines are quite packed together. I found the inside is quite dark because there are no outside windows. I went there to try out in the Morning and in the evening. All these time, there are plenty of machines I can use. The change room is ok in size.. Make sure you bring your own locks for the lockers. However the main problem is the different fitness classes I am interested. In order to get in a class, you have to get there early at least 15-20 minutes to get a ticket. If the class is full and really popular, then you might not get in. Even if you get in, the classes are really crowded! They packed close to 40 people in a small room. Goodlife fitness classes are set up that classes are the same for 3 months, so if you go to Bodypump class everyday, it can be taught by different instructors, but they will be using the same music doing the same routine for 3 months before they will change. In theory, it is good for people that like a certain routine, they know what to expect even when they go to another Goodlife Fitness and the classes and the music will still be the same. However, I did get bored even after 1 week! I cannot understand how they listen to same music for 3 months!! And for the body, I think it does need constant challenge...that's why is important to break the routine to do different things... Goodlife Fitness membership does has its advantages since it can be used at any of the clubs in the area. That is great flexibility. The price is pretty competitive and close to what I would expect. The sales did do a followup call. She was not too pushy. The location is quite convenient, since it is inside Loblaws you can always do your grocery shopping right after you exercise. They do have child care services if you need to use them.
