I spotted a defective install on a part of the house I rarely go to because of plants and vegetation and snakes (!) Anyway, during a deep clean, I noticed on window was badly installed, it was crooked and a 1/2 gap in the bottom where it wasnt leveled. The screen on that window wasnt a fit either and you cant remove it without breaking it. Strange that this widows is the one with all the problems. Anyway.. I called and was told I had to pay $350 service charge upfront(!) for them to just come out and inspect and I am assuming anything they find wrong will be charged too. These companies are all working hard to get your business, often it is the customer service and guarantees/warranty that makes the difference. SGM offers neither. I have used them for years because I like to support local businesses. This was a huge mistake.

Time between purchase and installation is well beyond promised and the product and installation is wrought with problems, then call it warranty work. We had to act as project managers just to get the work corrected. * Unprofessional behavior in our home. Employees complained about us, mocked our requests, and admitted themselves they "couldn't believe" the state of the work. * Payment bait-and-switch. We chose this company because they promised full credit card payment with no fee. They changed policy mid-project and refused to honor the agreement. When we escalated to management and even the owner, we were brushed off and told no refund or adjustment would be given. They did finish the work, but only after we managed the project and audited their work for an extra 8 months. Save yourself the stress, time, and money -- hire someone else.

Went with Fixit Pros because... #1) They give free estimates, #2) They arrived on time for scheduled appointment, #3) Price was right in line with other quotes, but #4) Both gentlemen were extremely polite, accomodating, professional, very customer oriented and experienced.
