Both of my sisters who are older than I am went here as well. This is a older school, but a good one. Hopefully, times have changed, as back then they did not have special programs for kids with ADD/ADHD and put everyone into the same category. The playground here is extremely old, that should be remodeled. They had really good teachers back in the days, ones that worked here for 20-30 years. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs Carrnot, or something like that. She was probably almost 60. My 1st grade teacher was Mrs Rice and my 5th was Mary Elm. She pasted away last year and worked at the school for probably 35 years. She was amazing. The lunch program here was really good. After I left and went to middle school, school lunch was a joke. Wow, I recall the blue milk tickets sold her at the book store for 5 cents. During the summer they have the walker school rummage sale, which is a cool event where locals sell goods on the school playground lot.

The teachers are highly qualified, hard working, and most do a great job communicating with parents --classroom newsletters, emails when needed, a schoolwide weekly newsletter. The curriculum seems good; my son has learned a lot. There's opportunity to go ahead if a challenge is needed (like taking a higher math level). My son has had small class sizes every year except one. Students have many arts options. In addition to regular art and music, the older grades can participate in choir, orchestra, band, or school play and these teachers do an excellent job. Sometimes there are after-school clubs offered, like Pokemon club or learning another language. The PTA (it's called Parent Faculty Council here) does a fantastic job and puts on fun events for the kids, pays for classroom field trips and school wide activities during the school day as well as hosting optional evening events (arts showcase, movie night, roller skating, trunk or treat, etc.) The PFC has a main fundraiser in the fall and your child (meaning you) will be asked to participate. It's for a good cause but if you hate fundraising, maybe just donate to it yourself. I feel that this school, like most schools in this country, could use more funding and the staff higher salaries -- but that's not specific to Orchard Lane. Our family hasn't needed to use more formalized plans or additional services for academic or behavior issues but I know they are available. The teachers have worked with us informally on getting behavior where it needs to be (trouble sitting still, overly talkative, blurting out answers and so on). I think there are plans in the future to add an outdoor/nature classroom and to update the playground. These may be expensive projects so I have no idea of a timeline -- but something to look forward to.

My 5 year old daughter who has cerebral palsy has been…read morepushed to the ground broken lipped, hurt constantly by other children, not paid attention to in class so another boy could strike her with scissors. The school refuses to give her, her medication since it is an all natural form and not a chemical. When visiting the classroom the teacher had her cell phone in her pocket and when it ring she actually opened it up to see who is calling. If you don't have to put your child in the school I would say get them to a different one. My biggest regret is I cannot afford a private school for her.

To this day it looks just as new as it was first built! The first floor is huge and has a study lounge and an adjacent cafeteria (WITH A FIREPLACE). There is absolutely too much to list as my description does this building no justice. I think there are 3 or 4 floors, there might be more than that but idk. I usually go to the cafeteria and study. The food is pretty good, although I have only had a chicken salad and some cookies. I supose this review is more directed toward students -- if you're looking for a study space I would totally suggest coming to Eckstein.

This is a review about St. Charles Borromeo Church because I am not familiar with the school. The…read morechurch is in a residential area in the south part of Milwaukee near the boundaries of Oak Creek and Greenfield. It is located on 31st and Marilyn. The Mass schedule on Sunday is 7 am, 9am, and 11 am. Fr. Carmelo Guiffre is great and so are the Xaverian Fathers who help out with both Sunday and daily Masses. Another great thing about this church is that there is a daily Mass everyday at 7 am, 8:30 am on Wednesday when school is in session.
