Asked the cashier to put my few dollars to a ticket, she gave me the dirtiest look and tried to give me money for the ticket. I told her again that I'd like to use the money from the ticket to buy another one. Instead of giving me a ticket for that draw she gave me a ticket for next weeks draw.

It's located in a quiet plaza. Giant Tiger is the largest business there. There was a lot of free parking. I pulled into a spot near the main entrance and walked in. I like that all Circle K stores used to be Mac's stores. It's also nice that they are standalone stores, which means that you are likely going to find roller foods and hot drinks. This one met these criteria. My coupon was for peanuts. I found the section and got barbeque. It was a hot day. Some cold drinks were in order. I got bottles of Pepsi zero cherry and peach. I did a bit of browsing. This store has a good selection of ramen. If you have a craving at 2 am, this store is perfect for you. Someone tried to create a Froster masterpiece. Instead, I saw the sad aftermath at the Froster machine. There was a swirl Froster machine that looked cool. Sadly, it was out of service. I hit the counter to pay for my drinks and redeem my coupon. The latter went well. I paid with a credit card for the former. All was great. The female staffer was nice and personable. Maybe she was happy that there was business and a human in the store, as this plaza was extremely quiet. A male customer walked in after me. He got a Polar Pop and headed back to his classic 70's car with the top down. He stood next to his car and sipped his drink. It was a nice change of pace being back in Winnipeg. I got into my rental car and drove back to where I was staying with my goodies. The pop was cold and yummy. The peanuts satisfied my late-night cravings. I liked visiting this store. I am now continuing this streak with this one. This store was a Mac's when I lived in Winnipeg. I'm not sure when the flipover to Circle K took place, but Mac's stores don't exist in the city anymore. This store was diagonally across from the apartment building in which I used to live. I visited the Select convenience store more often because it didn't require crossing any street. However, I did frequent this Mac's store every month. Back in the day, I relied on Winnipeg Transit and got a monthly pass at this store when it was Mac's. The pass was a paper one good for the entire month. These days, you can still get paper passes, but they are few and far between. Similar to PRESTO in the greater Toronto area, Winnipeg has Peggo, which is your transit app on your phone. You reload funds and scan it on the bus to pay your bus fare. Ah, technology. This Circle K store has coffee, Froster, and Polar Pop machines. It has your usual candy and snacks. However, it doesn't compare to the sandwich and drink selections that you get at Select across the street. There is parking in front of the store. It's limited. However. the A&W and Subway stores next to this store have closed for good. As a result, there is a lot more parking available. I'm glad that this convenience store is still standing. I should return the next time I'm in my old neighbourhood and relive being a customer here. (360)

He physically grabbed my two items and pushed them back about a foot, I called him out on his anger but he had no real explanation for his actions. We've been a shopper at this store for at least twelve years, this was the first time I've experienced a person like this, our experiences with staff prior to this point has always been excellent and without reproach. I'll certainly avoid this person in the future.

On Tuesday, I revisited a section of stores that are still there on Academy Road when I was a Winnipegger, between Queenston and Niagara Streets. Closer to Queenston was my dentist. She has since retired, but the dental office is still there. Next door is Chocolates on Academy. Yes, I used to get my teeth cleaned, get chocolates, and then hit this 7-Eleven next to the chocolate shop for a Slurpee. I moved away from this neighbourhood and lived in Osborne Village. I still came here for my dental appointments, Belgian chocolate, and Slurpee fixes when I lived there, as well as when I lived in Rochester, MN. On Tuesday, I came by to get chocolates and check out my neighbourhood 7-Eleven from years past hours before my flight back to Toronto. I parked in front of 7-Eleven. I've never had an issue parking. If the lot is full, you can always park on the street. It felt the same going in. I saw hot dogs, wings, and more. It was hot foods galore. What was different was seeing a microwave with all the ramen varieties that made me so happy. Next to the microwave was the Slurpee machine. It brought back fond memories of first arriving in Winnipeg and getting a large Slurpee in the middle of a heatwave. Winnipeg is the Slurpee capital of Canada. The city has more 7-Eleven stores than Starbucks cafes. I had to get a Slurpee. I saw Crush lime and needed to give it a try. I got a medium. I pulled out my 7Rewards barcode. I got the nicest woman at the checkout. She said hi to me when I walked in and she cashed me out. She scanned the barcode and I paid for my Slurpee with a credit card. Done! I thanked her and left sipping on my Slurpee. The Crush lime was so good. I was so happy. The paper straw was impressively sturdy. I'm so glad that I returned for sentimental reasons. They also have chicken meat available here. Prices are mostly cheap, some interesting limited old school products from another generation are here like Cheetos Mac-n-Cheese. I love their coconut water in the beverage fridge section, but some cat pet food was a little bit higher price then super cheap Dollarama. For cat litter on the go, like you need it right now, this place has 99cents scoops of cat litter for the low income community.

Here's my original review: I was in the southern part of Winnipeg during my second full day. I needed to redeem a digital coupon and find a Circle K. I found this one and drove over to it. The Yelp listing currently states that it's a Mac's convenience store. Winnipeg once had a bunch of Mac's stores, but they have all been converted to Circle K. I know that the one in Osborne Village was a Mac's for the longest time. It's weird seeing it as a Circle K. There were plenty of parking spots in front of this store. I backed into one and walked in. What I love about the Circle K stores in Winnipeg is that they are all standalone ones. They all have hot dogs, sausages, and taquitos rolling in front of you. There are hot coffee and chocolate machines. They all don't have weird, doughy pizza slices. It's heaven! I had a digital coupon for a free Prime drink. I found the cold beverages section and grabbed one. I also saw a deal on Old Dutch popcorn twists. I love them so much. Two bags were going for $4. I'd probably get the munchies in the evening, so it was fitting to get two. I had the nicest man at the counter. He said that he'd give me a third bag of popcorn twists for an extra dollar. Done! Maybe he just knew that I had the face of a popcorn twists fan. Circle K digital coupons work Canada-wide. I had no problem redeeming mine. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. You can't collect PC Optimum points at Circle K stores in Winnipeg. They aren't attached to an Esso station. I liked dropping by this store. It was the closest one to where I was staying. I'd love to return when I'm in the area. I had a great experience. My addendum visiting this store today: The same nice man was there. He said hi to me when I walked in. This store has Frosters only. Finding Polar Pops is tough these days. I had a coupon for a small hot drink for $1. Since it's frigid in the prairies, I got a small peppermint white hot chocolate. It was pink and delicious! I also got two Fuze drinks. I consumed the raspberry iced tea by the time I reached Richfield, Minnesota. I have my sugar-free lemon iced tea left to enjoy. This Circle K is great to grab drinks as I make my way across the border. I didn't do it last year on that road trip, but I'm glad that I stopped by today. (468)

The baked goods table smelled wonderful! The store has a good selection of used, but dated DVD's to purchase in case you don't have satellite and the offerings on Canadian television aren't to your liking. $5 for a used DVD, not too bad. I bought four. Plenty of room to park an RV as long as there aren't too many cars in the parking lot. They also carry some liquor, but I didn't check the selection out.
