We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

The staff seated me at one of the booths and after I requested some information explaining the menu and what's popular, they were more than happy to assist. They even explained some local etiquette and so on which was perfect for a visitor like myself. I decided to try out their Pickled Cheese as an appetizer. The cheese, paired with the onion salad and bagel was great. I really didn't know if I was eating it correctly but still delicious. For the main course, my waiter recommended a Schnitzel with potato salad. Just to get it out of the way, but the potato salad was almost better than anything I've had in the United States. I thought we were doing it right until I spent one day in Prague. The Schnitzel was also delicious. Perfect with the salad, the provided a blend of flavor and substance I desperately needed. All in all, this place was a great experience in Prague. The staff could not have been anymore nicer as I left with an itinerary on what to do during my time in Prague. The food and service were great. Don't be fooled by the location and stop by if you're in Old Square.

I was about to order a glass of wine when I saw the Pilsner Urquell in the three styles. Although the menu did not have the official name, I opted for The Cut (aka Šnyt), which is more foam than beer. For dinner, I went with the Veal & Cheese Rissole. The breading provided plenty of flavor to the veal & pork combo. The mashed potato had a very creamy texture. Unfortunately, the cucumber salad was the least favorite of the three. The shredded cucumber was akin to sauerkraut being drowned in water. I regretfully passed on the dessert. From my vantage point, I could not see anyone ordering dessert. Even more regrettable, before I left, I discovered the restroom was not well cleaned.

Having had just arrived in Prague earlier that day and having cycled 100+ kilometers, I was quite famished when I arrived. I hadn't made a reservation but being a singleton at an early evening hour, the staff found me a table quickly. I started by ordering an alcohol-free beer and then I perused the menu. The beer goulash on the other hand was interesting and hearty. I wouldn't classify it as wonderful, but decent, with sizable chunks of meat in there. Overall, the food was good, and worth the visit. RESTAURANT As is typical in Prague, water is expensive, and often more expensive that sodas or alcohols. I got a chuckle out of seeing things like whiskey being the same price as water. We got two ciders, which were absolutely delicious. The service was also friendly, which was nice. The decor is interesting, and the seating quite comfortably spaced out. ADVICE One thing - if you plan on using your credit card, I do recommend that you tell them to use the local currency, CZK, when charging the card. I'm not sure why they decided to go with USD without asking me, as it literally offers zero benefits to a foreigner, and all the negatives. For those wondering, if you have a card that doesn't waive foreign transaction fees, using USD doesn't prevent your card from charging the fees. The fee is for foreign transactions, not foreign currency. If you have a card that waives those fees, you're obviously losing out by charging to USD, as the exchange rate is awful.
