Worst car wash I've ever been to. It was more expensive than the other car washes. It did not get my car clean. They wanted me to pay extra to run it back through to get it clean. There's no spray bottles for wiping down the car. Microfiber towels are dry. I guess they don't understand that microfiber towels need to be damp in order to keep from scratching. The workers were playing with their friends instead of working. The vacuum was broken. The clean towels were not easily accessible. I won't go back there. read more

Decent Gate Car Wash in Oakleaf. It's a bit shorter tunnel than others around town, but does a good job at washing a car. Then afterwards there are the free vacuums that rock! Like all the other locations they do offer the unlimited wash monthly membership package good at this location and others; starting at $14.99 plus tax for the basic up to $39.99 for the top shelf wash. read more

I had a membership with Camel (now called Whistle Express) car wash ... I was and still think they are great! I used GATE car wash on yellowbluff for the first time on 10/27/24 ... disappointing is an understatement. The cost was twice as much for 1 wash and I did the $19.99upgrade - complete disappoint ... I would rather drive over the Dames point bridge then to pay for a car wash at Gate. ... Gate if you are really listening... go try Camel and fix this cheap wash company or maybe stick to selling gas read more

Went there and got a great greeting the staff was friendly. They explained to me the three types of watches they had they didn't try to sell me something or give me any kind of explanations or promise me some type of new chemicals. I bought one of their packages if you have a membership at car wash for you cancel it even their mat cleaner uses real water when you run into the machine and drives a perfectly oh, their tire shine lasts longer and their vacuums or more better than when you're through with it and you put them up they stop automatically read more

I forgot to cancel before I went on vacation so when I came back I did. Problem is I was just billed for another month 2 days prior. When you cancel, that's it. Even though you paid for a whole month they just take your money & say sorry, nothing we can do. This business practice should be illegal. Like everywhere else, when you pay for a month you get the whole month. SO I was charged almost $40 for 2 days. This place is a total rip off. AVOID!! read more

Newly returned to Jax, I asked around for car wash recommendations and my neighbor told me about Gate Express. They advertise $19.99, $29.99, and $14.99 monthly deals online, but you can only sign up on location. Once there, you find out the price is a 2-month promotion, and then it doubles to $39.99. It has really put a bad taste in my mouth for Gate. It's misleading at best to attract customers with misleading information. For the performance of the car wash, it's a soft wash and really does a good job of removing dust and dirt, but to remove bugs or anything more than dust there's an up charge. You have access to the vacuum after each wash and car mat washers. The place is kept clean and you can usually find someone to help if needed. read more

I got my car washed at the gate near Sam's on beach Boulevard. It was dirtier after getting it washed so I talked to the attendant and he sent me back through. Then they shut the car wash off. They let me out of the line and told me to vacuum my car while I was waiting. Then after they got it running again they told me I had to wait for the 10 cars that had piled up to go through the line. That is very poor customer service. I will never go back to GATE again. read more

A great new facility. It was fully staffed when I came in on a busy Saturday. They had an employee posted to help when you purchase a wash, assistance through the washer, and a person in the vacuum area. The cheapest wash is only $5, which is all I need for a quick wash and to use their vacuum. They have the other upgrades posted on a display in case you wanted a more thorough wash. Since it's a fairly new car wash all the vacuums worked well with great suction. read more

I was at the Gate car wash off of Wislon and Blanding. I had some car chalk on my car and after going through I wanted to know why it didn't come off. I pay for the ceramic family plan by the way. Natalie came out and told me they didn't have anything that would hit it hard enough to get it clean. Then politely offered to hand clean it with a microfiber towel herself. She was so kind and respectful and she didn't have to do that. I said girl no! It was for my son, he can do it!! lol I just wanted to give her a shout out for being so professional and sweet!! I was reluctant to join their monthly membership. But I tried it and have been satisfied so far. I've been a monthly member since January upgraded to ceramic and have used their wash at least twice a week. Attendants keep the place clean and vacuums working properly. And my car comes out clean and showroom shiny each time it comes out. Just a suggestion: maybe have a kiosk which sells car fragrances and drying towels. Otherwise really great wash. I usually don't mind these gate car washes, but today was my last time using them. I saw they had a new ceramic wash and my car was recently in Virginia where it was salty on the rods so I said let's give it a shot. Worst 25$ I could have spent. My windows were still dirty, there was still bird poop on my door, and the tire shine barely got on my tires. For someone who spends 25$ on a car wash it should at least only leave water spots. Scam of a car wash. And there was literally NO one to talk to about this experience. Just horrible. Will never go back to this location or any gate car wash honestly. If anyone uses gate may I suggest using the one north on blanding Blvd. it's not great but they are sure better than this location. read more

I got a GOLD car wash package this morning and am very disappointed. When the was was finished, I pulled into the WalMart parking lot next to the car wash and found that most of my car was still dry! No "soft cloth" wash occurred, very little water was sprayed and the car came out exactly the same way as it went in. I was going to get a subscription for my car and my husband's, but after this, no way! $10 down the drain and a lesson learned! This place is consistently packed but it moves along. The cheapest car wash is $5, which is a little less than some gas station washes, plus you get free vacuum use. There are 4 packages to choose from. The basic being soap, water, and vacuums I think. The next one up offers extra tire wash and shine, then you can go up to get a rain repellent treatment, and if you want to splurge with the top of the line $20 wash, you also get hot wax! You do need to set aside at least 10 minutes i would say because this place is popular and busy...and for good reason. read more

You need to bring your towels to dry the car but what do you expect from a $5 car wash and vacuum. I like it so much I switched to monthly and it is a big help being that I have a big tree I park under in my driveway. read more

On Dec 27, 2020 at 2 PM I visited this Gate car wash. I have been a monthly member of this carwash for approximately two to three years now . I paid monthly for a Diamond Car wash package. As I pulled up to the entrance of the carwash, I asked the attendant to spray the front of my car with some extra soap because I had just returned from a long drive and I had several bugs splattered on the front of my car . This is not something extraordinary and I have often seen SUVs and other vehicles get the front of their cars and windshields sprayed with extra soap. The Attendant told me that he was unable to do it . Not wanting to argue I just went through the car wash . As I exited the carwash, I saw the manager standing at the entrance booths, so I pulled around to speak to him. I pulled up close to where he was standing and lowered my window . He was wearing sunglasses and at first, he looked at me and completely ignored me even though I could see that he was looking directly at me. After a few minutes of awkward silence, he begrudgingly came over to my car and asked how he could help me. I told him that I had just asked for some extra soap to be sprayed on the front of my car because of bugs and the long drive I had just returned from. He brusquely informed me that, no that was company policy and that he would not do it . His demeanor and his response were so offensive and so aggressive that I was completely put off by it . I would like to reiterate that I have been a member of this carwash for almost 2 or three years now and I have never had any problem until I ran into this person who was presumably the manager. This was just absolutely abysmal customer service. It was offensive, rude and, condescending . I really do not need to spend my money at a place where I will be treated in such a disgusting manner . Even though this carwash is very convenient to me and I had no problems paying the monthly dues I'm quite sure I will be able to find a competitor who is more than happy to take my money. read more

The wash did not touch the front section of my car. Went through again and did not wash the front part of my car. I understand that bugs are hard to get off and not talking about that, but I could wipe the dirt with my hand and it was obvious that whatever scrubs the car was not even touching the front part. Never had a problem here before, but the one time that I did and damage was done to a vehicle, they refused to take any responsibility when all that was asked for was a refund of the incomplete car wash. When a corporate customer service person contacted me, she seemed appalled that I was not offered a refund and promised to get back with me. There has been no contact since then. I have always recommended this car wash in the past, but based on this very poor showing of basic customer service from the Gate company, I can no longer support them. Buyer beware. read more

We had our certified pre-owned 2018 Suburban for three weeks and life was great until we went to this car wash. After being directed through I went home and discovered my rear bumper cover hanging off our new car. I immediately went back up to place a claim. The associate was nice about it and said it had happened to a Tahoe and a Suburban already. The damage was in the same spot mine was. After 5 days we heard from claims and they took another few days to investigate using footage from the wash. After reviewing the footage they informed us the Carwash wasn't acting up that day so my car was at fault. I asked them again to reconsider my case or this review followed by a BBB would ensue. They wrote back saying sorry, my vehicle was broke to begin with and said they would send a 50 dollar gate gift card. You can tell from the before photo a 1/8 of an inch lip between my rear 1/4 panel and my rear bumper cover. They consider that reason enough to not help pay for the damage. What I want to know is why they don't warn Suburban and Tahoe owners before hand that the wash has been causing damage. They sent a picture in the follow up email of a sign posted at the wash saying they are not responsible for anything. I was skeptical of going to a car wash that wasn't touch less and now I'm really sorry I gave them a chance. Not only will we have to fork out 600 plus for repairs but we have lost hours of our life dealing with Gate. I highly recommend staying for away from this wash. read more
