It has a large tree in the middle that makes for great natural shade but you can also choose to sit under the sun in the open area space. From drinks they have a wide variety of drinks on tap, but my favorite as a tourist was the cola-bier.

The steak was tenderized & marinated in homemade German spices. It's stuffed with cucumber, mustard & bacon. The service was really good & the prices were great for the food. The atmosphere is nice near the river. If you're not that adventurous they have pork schnitzel & hamburgers. Would recommend checking this spot out!

There is an outdoor area like many other Brauhauses. Unfortunately I had not tried any of their beers. I did order the curry sausages with fries (pommes). You get 2 slender red links doused with curry powder and sits on a red sauce. Fries are seasoned and crisp. For lunch, it was satisfying. The menu is quite similar to other places. They have a shredded sausage salad that looked appetizing as well as a large plate of spaghetti with red sauce. Hopefully I'll get a chance to come back to try the beers.

The drive (or bike ride as my friends did) down the tree-covered lane is a preview into a wonderful outdoor dining environment. Continuing my tradition of having a German bier with each meal, I ordered the seasonal offering by the local brewery, Hoepfner. The waiter mentioned that the Carls bier was not well-known by locals but it should be: the lager had a pleasant sour twist and was the tastiest brew I had during my entire trip. For my entree, I had my German friends help me translate the menu and went with the 2 Schweineschnitzel (pork cutlet breaded and fried in butter with fries and sauce). It was the tastiest schnitzel I had ever consumed, coming nicely breaded and not overly greasy. The accompanying dipping sauce (reminiscent of Au Jus) complimented the meat nicely. The fries were mediocre but filling. The real MVP of Holzhacker is the large outdoor dining patio that is the ideal place to sit and take in a beautiful summer evening. I was so relaxed out there and wished the meal could go on forever...
