Ended up eating dinner here after checking out the TV Tower which is close by. At 8pm on a Friday the restaurant was fairly empty so we got to pick our table. The waitress stopped by with menus and took our beverage orders shortly after sitting down. At first her demeanor was not friendly at all, but by the end of our meal she was all smiles. We decided on the Berlin pork knuckle, beef roulade (per the suggestion of our waitress), and the kid's chicken and fries. Both main dishes were really good, but I preferred the pork knuckle a little bit more. Loved how the skin was crispy and the pork was tender. The potatoes topped with bacon bits went well with the knuckle. I really enjoyed the sauerkraut, which had a little sweetness to it. The roulade was seasoned nicely and didn't need all the sauce that accompanied it. I thought the boiled potatoes were just okay and could have used some salt. I thought the apple cabbage was just okay too. I also tried a piece of the kid's chicken, which was surprisingly really good. You could tell the nuggets were made fresh and with real chicken breast (no fillers). Washed down with a pilsner or wheat beer (super cheap... €4.80 for a large!), this made a great first dinner in Berlin.

The schnitzel was amazing...tender, flavorful, and moist. The best sauerkraut I have ever tasted! Great cucumber salad too. The waitress was pleasant and engaging and spoke perfect English. This was just the taste of Germany we were looking for!

This place had really good food. I had the currywurst, and it was wonderful. The portion sizes were really good, and you can honestly get a decent amount of food for a proper price if you order the right thing. The drinks were pretty cheap too. The only thing that was a little slow was the service, but I've come to expect this in Europe. Overall, it was a great experience.

Nice atmosphere. Fast service. I tried three lovely soups and my beloved Fassbrause :-)

If you only serve drinks after 10 then you're OPEN TIL 10 as far as I'm concerned. Not midnight.

No debate as to where they came from... potatoes. Service is self order, get tray, find seat. Bus your dirty dishes. Although food quality was exceptional, (curry flavor augmented the wurst and it did not overpower the wurst), the flow to order, pick-up & bus was a bit chaotic. Trash receptacles were hard to locate and the place to order too far away from entry point with no clear signage leading to the right place. Fortunately you could eat inside or outside on the patio smack within Alexanderplatz which is a great location to people watch. Overall a good self serve experience as the food was worth the experience of getting food in a foreign country!

We knew we had to go at least once and I am so glad we did! We ordered via one of the kiosks and it was extremely easy to use with English as a language option. I ended up getting the classic poutine (with garlic fries and jalapenos added) and my husband got a vegan Instanbul street fries (with falafel instead of the chicken kebab). We very much enjoyed watching the staff work in the kitchen and I LOVE that they had vegetarian and vegan options. Vegetarian poutine is so rare that whenever I see it, I almost always get it! These fries did not disappoint - they were loaded! The gravy in the poutine had excellent flavor and the cheese curds were a little melty and super stretchy. They also piled high with the jalapenos! My husband loved his fries equally and I really liked the yogurt dip. I would definitely recommend this place.

We came here after having been turned away by an Indonesian restaurant that was "full for the night". We are so glad that fate brought us here instead of that Indonesian restaurant!! What were we even thinking anyway --forget the Indonesian food, get the local specialities!! Ordered the schnitzel as well as the meatballs and both were executed perfectly. Schnitzel was hot and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside -- not overly salty either. Meatballs were juicy and packed with flavor from the minced onions that they had mixed in. The beer (we ordered a Pilsner) was the best that we had tried in all of the Berlin and Dresden restaurants that we visited. I believe it is from some small private brewery affiliated with the restaurant somehow. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right, so definitely order the house beer. Super cozy seating (you'll probably be sharing a table with other guests) and packed all night long but amazing vibes and casual comfort food. Would come back if I ever visit Berlin again!
