The meal was superb and one can see how the restaurant earns the three star honor each year. Early for once, we arrived before they were open and went for a short drive in the countryside where this lovely restaurant is nestled. Returning at the correct time, the gates were open and we parked and took the short walkway to the entrance. This is a family affair and you are made to feel like family from the time you enter. We were seated in their lovely dining room and then spent the next several hours enjoying a multi-course tasting menu. Some of the dishes of note--the parmesan crisps, the two terrines, the foie gras, the two pastas, the frog legs, roast duck, and then some lovely desserts. A large tray of mignardises was brought so we each could have one of each type. Service was exceptional and as I noted in the beginning, we were treated as if we were dining with family we knew for years. Before leaving, I went to get a photo of the chef and he insisted that the photo include the four of us along with his two brothers. For me, this was our best meal in Italy and it ranked with two others as being evenings to remember!

She brought us a plate of prosciutto and crackers and water while we enjoyed the lovely garden area. Such Italian hospitality at its best! When it was finally time to go to our table, we were ushered in by the waitstaff dressed in tuxedos, setting the tone for an elegant atmosphere. Throughout our meal, all members of the Santini family personally approached our table to greet us, welcome us, and thank us for being there. We felt like special guests! Now onto the food. We started with an appetizer of tomatoes composta which was spectacular!! Next we enjoyed some pasta before cheese and dessert. Everything was solid and of high quality. When it was time to depart, the entire family ushered us out and waved goodbye. Such a lovely and warm dining experience that we won't forget!

The space is tucked away off the main cathedral plaza and has a very calm atmosphere despite its formality. The server helping us was extremely gracious and friendly, and we have to say that the two white wines that he selected for us were absolutely fantastic. We started with the poached egg and asparagus, and we didn't love it. Most of the dish was cold, which is not usually welcome with eggs, but the flavor was nice (LOTS of sauce, as in way too much). For primi, our daughter's eggplant parmigiana ravioli were really nice, and that was probably our favorite dish of the meal. The lemon linguine was super citrusy, but one of us did not love the pairing with the trout eggs. The "mixed grilled meat" plate was very novel. There was this odd salad that was almost like a soup but it was so fresh and delicious-tasting, and definitely very unique. The various meats we tried were also quite tasty, so the dish overall landed well for us. Even though we didn't fall in love with this restaurant, we would recommend it and can see ourselves going again if we're ever back in Cremona (fingers crossed!!). They also gave us a copy of their menu as a souvenir which had this beautiful picture of a fairy playing the violin that we are going to frame, so that's a nice memory. 3.5 stars, rounding up for the memories!

As we entered and sat I was honestly concerned. Even when we read the menu, which was presented in an envelope ( really cool ) I was still very concerned. As our dishes came my concern resided immediately. The food was presentation was amazing. The service was incredible and the taste. Incredible. I had the meat filled ravioli, the meat pizza and the pasta made of eggplant, can't pronounce or spell name. All was incredible. Then for desert crepes. Wow. They said they were low calorie too. Big win. Wink, wink. Honestly as I said un the beginning my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. What an amazing place to eat in Cremona Italy. A definite must try. P.s. Keep your mind open to the restaurants food suggestions.
