The ACK Film festival is a model of inefficiency. It's been going on for 16 years and they still do…read morenot have their act together. If you are thinking of getting tickets next year, think again. You are better off to go to the beach that weekend and catch the movies when they are released. I bought tickets online early this year (and BTW your site stinks--why does it take me 14 clicks to buy 2 tickets?). They overbooked one of the events with too many VIP's, leaving full-paying attendees without a seat. The lines to get into the movies are insane and long. Can they not prepare for changing over technology between films? If a movie is scheduled to start at 5:30, it starts closer to 6:30. The bus schedules were not all running so if you were going to see a movie in Sconset, you were out of luck if you missed the one bus route. Do the words "logistics" or "planning" mean anything? One movie was in a hall next to a church. There was a wedding at the church so it was a cluster to get the movie people in and leave the wedding ceremony people undisrupted. The venues have not changed much in the last 16 years--why was it such a nightmare? The volunteers need coaching. They each had different info and for God's sake don't tell me I can get into an event I paid for because they let too many VIP's in. And why do you need an abundance of volunteers? Too many milling around and watching movies while customers can't get in. One woman was a non-help and annoying as she went up and down the line 4 times asking if we all had our tickets. At the Morning Coffee With, the volunteers all had seats in the back while paying customers did not. And they talked through the program which was very rude to the presenters on stage and the attendees trying to listen. I see more and more sponsors added over the years and that is great but it is now a corporate event and not for attendees. This is a waste of time. -Disappointed and will not attend next year

I keep an eye on the showtimes from over on Martha's Vineyard as they occasionally will have features that don't show up on the island. I've only had the chicken fingers from the dining room and feel like they were lacking on my most recent visit, but previous times have been nice. And the staff seems to have a clearer system at this point to take care of food and drink at the start of the show and let the guests enjoy their movie. Being on the Vineyard boat schedule inevitably leads to more checking of the time during the film than I would in other locations. I wouldn't mind an opportunity to see an old fashioned event movie here with a large crowd, if and when that comes to pass.

I love this place. Everything is relative. Of course a huge imax might have a better experience from a visual and sound perspective but this place has awesome seats, with trays. They come and take your order in your seat, actually have good food (better than some of the restaurants around here), and the screen and sound is great. I just hope more people come so it stays open. It's WAY better than Mashpee and much better than the old Falmouth one too. Give it a try. It's also reasonably priced. Kids trays were 9.95 and included juice, skittles, and popcorn. They sell booze too.
