I needed an acrylic house but had no plans, no design. I described what I wanted to Gary who understood exactly what I was hoping for, made a quick sketch, calculated the materials and cost in ... maybe 5 minutes, and said it could be ready in three days. I was expecting it to cost more and take much longer! Imagine my surprise when he called the next day to say it was ready! And then whenever I picked it up there were so many lovely details -- a chimney with bricks etched in and tiles etched in the roof! I was blown away. This is exactly what I needed and more! Thank you, Gary! read more

I had a quick home project to add a plastic insert piece to my window with a cutout for the cats. Gary was very effective at helping me make some design choices and completed the project right away. The end results were perfect with high quality craftwork, thanks Gary! read more

I checked Gary's Place out based on a customer review. I found him to be very friendly, helpful and sincere. Even though the item was out of stock for a few days, I was going to wait and buy from him anyway. I called one of the major competitors for the heck of it and they quoted a higher price. I love supporting small, local businesses and Gary's will forever be my go-to shop for plexiglass. read more

I do business in both San Jose and Santa Cruz. This gives me the option of using either Tap plastics in San Jose or Gary's in Santa Cruz. Most of the time I am in San Jose and less than 1 minute drive to Tap. However, I still choose Gary's. Gary's is a hole in the wall, tucked away, and next to the ocean...but Gary's gets it right. I get excellent prices from Gary, quick turn around, and a knowledgeable staff. I have gone into Gary's with large projects and small and have been treated very well. I have had plastics cut for free. I have been given guidance how to complete projects better. This has not been my experience at Tap in San Jose. If you have projects Gary's is the way to go. read more

I needed a custom piece of plastic to fit inside of an outside sink. I took my best shot at creating a template out of cardboard which was only so-so but the folks at Gary's Plastic Place worked with it and were able to create an exact fit. I did have to take it back to them twice for the perfect fit, but that was entirely my fault for having a crappy template to work with. They were incredibly patient with me, didn't charge me an extra for the additional work they performed, and the end result is AWESOME! I don't write many reviews - things have to be either REALLY GOOD or really bad. I can't recommend these guys enough. Very professional, fun to work with, and they really know what they are doing. Thanks again guys. read more

Have had these guys work on several projects for me - mainly stuff for home and boat. They're a little salty but boy do they know their materials and have awesome capability. They will NOT solve or vision or imagine solutions for you - don't go there expecting design ideas or help or solutions. They WILL take your design, review it - and execute on their end to the letter quickly and affordably. Good work here. read more

I have an coffee table that I decorated with circuit boards, that is an unusual size. I came in with my measurements and they cut down a larger sheet to the size I needed in only a few minutes. I've been doing business with Gary for so many years, I can't remember. Usually, my jobs are small and time-consuming. Gary always gives me a good price and even better quality. My clients are so pleased with the widgets that I ask Gary to make for them. He's a busy guy, but fits my small projects in so that I don't have to wait long. And he offers suggestions that improve the project, to the satisfaction of my clients. read more

I continue to use Gary for all my plastic needs. He will even cut things you bring in for a price per cut. Taps has a minimum charge which is outrageous for something small. read more

I love this place! It was hard to find at first, but that's ok. Gary is so so so kind! He helped me select the plastic that would fit my needs best, made sure his delivery guy was bringing it the next day, and had my order ready in remarkable time! I cannot wait to order more. Such a great experience. I tell everyone about this place! The prices are also much lower than you'll find at a place like TAPS. I think this is the only shop in the world where you get quality service, excellent speed AND fair prices. Thanks Gary (: read more

The previous reviews all nailed it... Gary is the man! Fast, reasonably priced and great customer service. Every business should be run like this. Gary could teach small businesses a thing or 3 about how to run a business! Thanks Gary!!! read more

My husband needed some red plastic flags made for a miniature 9-hole golf course he put in our backyard. The flags and red duck tape that I had used previously were destroyed by the sun over time. The two men at Gary's Plastic gave me expert advice and cut the pieces needed with NO WAITING. It has the feeling of an Old Work European shop, though they have the latest technology (like a laser cutter). It's truly a hidden find and we wouldn't think of going back to the stores I had visited in the past. read more
