Gary's a family friend. That's not a disclaimer, that's part of the review.
I've lived in San Diego for going on ten years. In that time I have had four regular stylists. My last five haircuts have been given by four different people. No complaints, heck, my latest cut looks pretty good.
I have a picture of my first haircut. Gary was the barber. He also gave me my second, third and, to my recollection, every other haircut until I left home at the age of 18. Watseka is a small place (but it is the biggest place around, haha Woodland, suckers) and it's still normal to have relationships like that. When I talked with my latest stylist, she listened, but she didn't know who I was talking about. If someone mentions a little town news at Gary's, well, you might just have a reason to be interested. Not that I'm talking about gossip, I would never suggest that, not at all...
The barber shop is nice. I believe he still has those great barber chairs, the older style, bulky ones with thick red leather padding. I hope the barber pole is still outside. If it's gone, don't tell me.
Gary is a good barber, a good man and hilarious at a party. What more could you need? read more
