I made appointments at multiple orthodontists to ensure I get the best care for my daughter. I am so glad I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Kawata. He even personally called me before the appointment to welcome us, which is extremely rare, but it was such a personal touch that I appreciated. At our appointment the front office staff was so welcoming. Dr. Kawata took his time explaining in detail the dental care my daughter needs, and did not need. He expressed that if this was his daughter, this would be the plan of care he would take. You can tell he really knows what he's doing and takes great pride in it. I am excited I found such an awesome orthodontist for my family! read more

I scheduled an appointment for an orthodontist consultation for my son and received countless reminders, emails, texts, and phone calls to confirm the appointment. I completed all the intake forms online ahead of time and even arrived 15 minutes early. At 3:00 PM, I was informed that Dr. Kawata was not ready. They took my son's X-rays, and I was left waiting in the lobby for 25 minutes with no updates or acknowledgment of the delay. Eventually, I decided to leave, and I never received a follow-up call or apology for the inconvenience. This shows a complete disregard for my time, especially as a new patient. I will be looking for another orthodontist. read more

SIMPLY THE BEST!! I wish I had found Dr. Kawata and his team years ago. I've never felt more comfortable and confident having orthodontic work done. Everyone is so friendly, personable, and patient. From the front desk staff, to the techs, Dr. Kawata, and Dr. Allie Kawata. They all make going to the ortho a walk in the park. I couldn't recommend GK Orthodontics more!! read more

When we started here my daughter had a centered gap in between her front teeth. Two years later she had a centered tooth in the front of her mouth. I'm so devastated. Every-time she smiles it makes me mad and angry. When I pointed this out in utter shock at the end of the treatment he pointed out to me that tom cruise also has a centered took in the front. Because every 13 year old girl starts with centered front top teeth and wishes for a centered tom cruise tooth??? Not wanting to embarrass my fragile 13 year old I didn't continue making a big deal about it. There was no transparency. No expectations set here that we would get a one tooth on the middle top. I'm completely outraged. In addition to this, we are still dealing with a billing nightmare because Delta dental said they never received the mail in claim that was sent by the staff over a year by the staff. When we sent it in again recently, delta denied our claim they said sorry too late. It's been over a year. So we lost over 1k there which add major insult to injury. Now I'm going to have to get her teeth looked at somewhere else and redo the process and figure out why my child started with centered front teeth and ended with a tooth in the middle. You don't pay this kind of money to have a worse off smile at the end. It's just tragic. I'm looking forward to hearing back from the office on this. I'll be there Thursday for a consult with my son which was scheduled before seeing my daughter's results. Let me know if you prefer to discuss my daughters case before moving on to centering a tooth on my son's smile. read more

I absolutely love Dr Kawata's office from the office ladies, to Mel the dentist assistant and I love how everyone knows my daughters name when she walks in. I highly recommend this office to anyone who needs braces. I wish I knew about them when I needed braces. read more

Dr. Kawata is fabulous! He is soooo great with kids. And makes things fun! His office is very clean. The office staff at the front desk are very sweet. On the week of Mother's Day they even had fresh flowers for each child to give to their mom. That's going way above and beyond! And shows how much thought and care he puts into his practice. I will send all my friends and family his way. read more

Well over twenty five years ago our three kids had Dr. Kawata as their orthodontist. Now our oldest grandson has Dr. Kawata as his orthodontist and all we can say is that Dr. Kawata and his staff were AWESOME then and are still AWESOME today!! Joe and Barb Almasy read more

I began my journey with Dr. K in January 2019 and he has seen me through gum grafting, braces, and jaw surgery! Now, nearly 4 years later, I am brace free and I couldn't be happier with my results. It's been a long process, but the staff have been unfailing supportive through the whole process! I would refer anyone here who needs to have orthopedic work done. read more

I decided to go to Kawata based on the reviews. It's a mistake I will regret for the rest of my life. Kawata will do unnecessary treatments and you will soon realize he does it all for money. I do NOT recommend Kawata to anyone, especially for kids. Please get a second opinion and don't let his smooth talk convince you into doing unnecessary things. I should have listened to my gut feeling about him. I wish I never stepped foot inside his office. read more

Just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Kawata and his staff for being so incredibly amazing!! You will not find a more caring or compassionate orthodontist anywhere. Not only does Dr. Kawata care about your teeth, but he truly cares about you as a person. I have had all four of my kids in braces with his office and would highly recommend him to any family looking for orthodontic treatment. Our youngest and final daughter was ready for braces last year. We were unhappy with our previous orthodontist that handled our other two daughters' braces; so we switched to this office due to a referral. My daughter has been happy with the staff and she really likes Kawata. Even when I probably overreacted to a small issue, the staff was very polite and immediately addressed my issue. Overall professional and clean office as well. read more

Dr. Kawata is the best orthodontist! Yelp isn't too big yet in the inland empire, but I'm sure people would give 5 stars across the board because they are so happy with the outcome and treatment they get at Dr. Kawata's office. Dr. Kawata treated my mom, sister, and myself, and we were all extremely happy with the results. Dr. Kawata has the most positive, professional, and calming demeanor. He speaks with the most gentle voice you just want to fall asleep in his chair! He explains procedures thoroughly and in lehman's terms. His staff is super friendly as well, it is always a positive experience at the office. Besides his excellent customer service, his clinical work is top notch. He received his education at USC which is known for it's excellent orthodontic program and teaches there on his off days. This, to me, means he's constantly keeping up with what's new in the field and is constantly educating students and himself. It is obvious to me that in discussing a patient's treatment, he weighs benefits and risks and presents the patient's options, keeping the patient's goals in mind and what is best for the patient. I ended up needing surgery as part of my treatment, and while surgery isn't a pleasant experience, going through it w/ Dr. Kawata made it as good of an experience as it can be. He was very reassuring and I never had any doubts or was really that scared. I am so glad I had it done, it actually changed my life. He has 24 years of experience, I believe. He is a member of multiple prestigious orthodontic and dental societies, is very well known in the field, and has an excellent reputation. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kawata's practice, so I'll stop there! read more

I gotta say Dr. Kawata is the best around. He took the time to listen to my son who was getting bullied because of his teeth. He was 8 at the time. Dr Kawata showed true empathy and said he would do everything he could to help my sons smile. He exceeded all expectations!! My son got his braces off today and we couldn't be happier. Staff and Doctor here are super nice. Dr. Kawata actually said, "Let's wait for 9 months for braces for your son. I don't want him in braces any longer than he needs to be." Considering the price you pay is based on the total estimated time in braces, that seems pretty considerate and honest. The office stocks flavored gloves!!! And pre-pasted single-use toothbrushes for kids who come straight from school. Diane and Robyn are delightful. They treat you like you're already a friend. Dr. Kawata was very patient. He asked many times if everything covered was clear, if there was any confusion, if we had questions or concerns. He didn't rush us. We felt heard. read more

Garrett R Kawata, DDS - Getting braces. - Orthodontists Near Me - Corona, California

Absolutely outstanding orthodontist and staff. We went in for my son's consultation and were greeted with beautiful and friendly smiles. The staff is very obviously happy and that translated to happy patients. There was no wait time. Robin was professional, sincere and extremely helpful and knowledgable. Dr. Kawata is truly amazing. He did a very thorough exam followed by an even more comprehensive explanation to me and my soon to be 10 year old son. I am extremely impressed with Dr. Kawata's entire office: doctor, staff, amenities, cleanliness and equipment. The bad news is that my son is not ready for another 2 years!! We will not go anywhere else but here for orthodontics. read more

I cannot say enough about Dr. Kawata AND staff. Not only is he the best in the industry, he also teaches future Ortho's to be the best and STAY CURRENT! Garrett R Kawata, DDS - Good looking kid, just went stellar!! - Orthodontists Near Me - Corona, California

Dr. Kawata is an AMAZING orthodontist doctor. We had an emergency (freak accident) with my daughter's bracket and Dr. Kawata and his LOVELY wife rushed to their office after hours, on a weekend to help my daughter! He did not have to do that, but because he is a wonderful doctor he went above and beyond! He is the best orthodontist who is extremely knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients! He also has an amazing staff who supports his values! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kawata and staff! read more

My son was in terrible shape...his "bite was so messed up that his teeth only touched in one place in his whole mouth. Dr. Kawata and Matsumoto drew up a plan that included two different oral surgeries as well as extensive orthodontic treatment. We accepted the plan, and embarked on a 4 year journey with these dentists. They made my son feel cared for; and gained my absolute trust. In the end, my son has not only a beautiful smile; but a functioning bite that will serve him for the rest of his life. My advice, don't hesitate to put your mouth in their capable hands. read more

Mid-treatment with my 3 kiddos and thus far could not be happier. Went to 3 offices for consults, and while Dr. Kawata was a bit more expensive than the other two, he had an individualized approach and not just a cookie-cutter treatment plan like the other two had. I trust him and his staff whole-heartedly. Appointments are easy to schedule and run on time. You won't be disappointed! read more

Amazing staff, really kid friendly. Kudos for using technology like iPad to keep kiddos entertained and distracted at the orthodontist...

Dr Kawata is a very competent, caring, thorough, and knowledgable orthodontist. All three of my children have had braces done by him and his staff. All three had jaw growth issues and all three have been corrected without the need of any complicated and expensive surgery. All three were initially setup and scheduled for a two phase braces program, but they responded so well to his treatment the second phase was not necessary. We are so glad we chose Dr Kawata. He planned for the worst case scenario and got the best result. 5 star all the way read more

Great Doctors!! The Staff is honest and forthcoming with treatment options and pricing. We love the feel of the office, it is neat, clean, and very up to date. I hate it when you go into an office and it feels old and out dated. The Doctors are so professional and caring, they show personal interest in each individual patient. If you want an excellent orthodontic experience go see Dr. Kawata, You won't be disappointed!! read more

Dr. Kawata is very knowledgeable. My son has a complicated case of malaligned teeth. We saw several orthodontist before seeing Dr Kawata. Kawata worked with us to get all the necessary information in order to make an informed decision. Once we had all the information he recommended we start with the most conservative approach (and least expensive). In the end this approach worked and we didn't need any of other expensive treatments that were recommended by other orthodontists. All 3 of my kids will be using Dr. Kawata. His staff is friendly and helpful and all the costs are known upfront. read more

BEST ORTHODONTIST'S OFFICE ANYWHERE!!! I don't usually go to the effort of posting reviews, in fact this is the first time I've ever done it. But this office has been a tremendous blessing to our family and I want others to know about it! Not only are my kids getting the best possible orthodontic care and treatment, the office is actually a pleasure to visit! My kids look forward to each appointment and ask when they're going again just days after having been in. I look forward to the appointments too because it's like an episode of Cheers "where everybody knows your name...." The staff all know you and chances are you know more than half of the parents in the waiting room! To top it all off, Dr. Kawata hosts a bowling party every summer to thank all his patients. The party is complete with food and PRIZES which my son was thrilled to be the GRAND PRIZE winner just two years ago! I have had nothing but positive experiences with this office. It's a great environment and I'm grateful every day that we chose Dr. Kawata's office! In response to Randy H.: I got 4 quotes before selecting an office for treatment and Dr. Kawata was at the higher end of the quotes. And I definitely don't have money to throw down the drain. But, it was a more inclusive quote that prevented me from incurring additional fees for "extras" along the way which evens out the quotes a bit. Additionally, the quality of care and the incredible staff had made it MORE than worth paying a little more than you might at an orthodontic chain. read more

Wonderful dentist and amazing staff. Very friendly. I would recommend them to anyone.

When we think of Dr. Kawata, their are three words that come to mind. Kind, passionate and very professional. Dr. Kawata is a very caring and gentle orthodonist. The last thirty or so years having six children we have had several experiences with different orthodontists. Each had great qualities and my children's teeth were all straightened with braces. As grown adults now their straight teeth and beautiful smiles are such a important part of their make up. Now with our last child going through the process with Dr. Kawata it has been especially rewarding to receive such a warm and positive welcome. Starting with the first consultation with meeting Dr. Kawata. Their was a sense of knowing this orthodontist is a the top of the list as to being the very best in his field. He took his time with us to evaluate and tell us exactly what the corrections would be and just how long it would take to reach the goal for our daughter. All the questions asked were explained and we did not feel any pressure nor did we feel like Dr. Kawata was rushing us through the consultation. With the office staff running things smoothly and efficiently made scheduling or changing appointment times quick and easy. They were very helpful in accommodating your own personal schedule. The office is very clean and has very advanced technology. Just recently my daughter had her braces removed. It was a exciting day for her, but also bitter sweet as she really truly loved having braces and had grown quite fond of them. But when they were removed she was ecstatic with her new look of straight beautiful teeth. So many of our friends and people we meet out have asked who we saw for our orthodontic care and of course we say the very best "Dr. Garrett Kawata. We feel truly blessed that we have a beyond great orthodontist, super dental assistants and a professional team of caring staff. Thank you Dr. Kawata for all you do and for keeping us with straight and beautiful teeth. -Like Truly, Rick, Gayle and McKenzie read more
