Dr. Weinstein is fantastic, great bedside manner and always willing to listen. His staff is…read moretypically good (like anywhere else there are those having a bad day, less motivated than the rest, etc.) and the issues are always limited to the office staff. The nurses are amazing, the office is in great shape every time. We've been going for years, preferred the old office because it was less busy, but can't be too picky about that.

This is Dr Weinstein, about whom I've written a detailed review. Weinstein seemed like a good Dr,…read morebut I am not impressed with the staff. Office manager is rude, receptionists are lazy. Never notified me of a blood test til I was in the examining room, so I didn't fast, and results are outlier to past 15 yrs of tests, completely worthless. Been weeks still waiting for the visit summary staff promised to mail me. Took 2 months to get an appointment as a new patient, new ins co assigned him as a primary. Office is also a pediatric practice, so I got to share a small waiting room with a bunch of sick kids. I was scared to touch anything in there. It's almost too bad the Dr is nice, good thing I don't need a referral for in network specialists, and crystal run urgent care is good, so with any luck I'll never have to go back here. UPDATE: called about the visit summary. Spoke to office manager on the phone she was kind and apologetic . Considered perhaps I had rushed to judgment about the staff. Called back again to confirm it had actually gone out, asked for the office manager, was put on hold a very very long time. Dr Weinstein Himself comes on the phone, very surprising, thanked him and told him how much I appreciated him taking the time to resolve things himself. He was snarky and sarcastic on the phone, at first tried blaming me for error made by staff (how is it my fault they never mailed me the visit summary? They mailed me test results, why was summary not included with them when I had specifically explained at the visit when and why I needed it - BTW at crystal run you get the visit summary on your way out the door from your appointment not 2-3 weeks later) Anyway, dr weinstein ended up adopting that know it all attitude that infuriates people with drs. I couldn't help thinking I can't believe ppl bring children to this guy, maybe he just has issues with adult patients idk. The doctors attitude and behavior has convinced me to go elsewhere.

This is a review only of the urgent care center here. Once I had a 5 star experience, the next…read moretime a 1 star one. So 3 stars. The first time I stepped on a nail. Went right through my Croc shoe and deep into my foot. Hurt ALOT. and the nail was rusty, of course. I came in with the nail and was promptly taken care of. They even called my dr in NYC to confirm i had tetanus shots recently for a trip overseas. The second time was a few years later. They left me in a treatment room, freezing I might add, for 45 min. I finally went and asked what was going on. I think they forgot about me. And it wasn't a busy place at that moment. When the dr came in it was a very cursory exam and I left feeling no confidence in it at all. If I find myself in urgent need in the area id go there, but I'll follow up with a dr I know ASAP as well.

I have been going to Crystal Run (now owned by Optum) doctors for about 4 years after moving…read moreupstate from NYC. My experience over many visits and communications over those 4 years: 1. They have some good individual doctors. Others are not. This review is not about any particular doctor, but about their administrative functions and billing practices. 2. All calls go through a central number. You can never speak with a doctor directly. You can only leave a message and someone other than the doctor calls you back. Calls back are mostly prompt. 3. Their billing rates are very high -- higher than most of my better qualified NYC doctors. For those paying cash or with a high deductible policy, you've been warned. You are better off getting a procedure done for cash by a reputable Manhattan provider -- you will save money and get the same or better care. Shop around. Getting an estimate from them is like pulling teeth. They also don't stick to their estimates. Your final bill could be more than double what they have estimated for a routine procedure/test. A second estimate with an absurdly higher amount is given to you right before you have a procedure/test, so that you feel you must accept the higher estimate in order to go through with your procedure/test without delay. 4. There is no accountability if there is a problem. Anyone you call with a problem just takes a message and says they can't help you themselves. The robot on here called Crystal R. looks good, but it's my experience is that nobody at Crystal Run will take your complaint and investigate and address it. Good luck getting through to anyone who actually helps you. You cannot even call the office of any particular doctor directly to get help from an assistant. It's always a game of call the main number, leave a message, an assistant calls back. This is a very frustrating way of handling more complex situations that require multiple steps and calls. On the "plus" side, call wait times have gotten much better in the past year or two. 5. The wait times are too long for many appointments and for many tests. Many appointments are scheduled 3+ months in advance. If you need a test, you often first have to get an appointment with a doctor for a 5-minute very expensive consult, so between the doctor's appointment and the test appointment you can make only after seeing the doctor, you are waiting 6+ months for test results. 6. If you have an illness or injury, forget about going to your primary care physician. They won't see you fast enough. You will be told to go to their urgent care center, which will give you minimal care to get you out the door and will tell you to follow up with your primary care physician or a specialist. You will have two visits when you should have had one. 7. I have had outrageous instances of a doctor failing to take the necessary action to get a prescription approved by my insurance, or not doing it in a timely fashion, or failing to arrange for delivery to Crystal Run of an essential pre-surgery medication. All these situations were shrugged off by Crystal Run personnel. This never happened with my NYC doctors. 8. The doctor appointments are usually very short -- 10-15 minutes --and billed at $350-$475 per appointment. An allergy scratch test was recently billed at $980! 9. When Crystal Run doctors refer you to a specialist, they refer you only to another Crystal Run specialist, who may or may not be good. I discovered in a couple of instances that I had been referred to a non-doctor physician assistant without my consent or knowledge. The non-doctor physician assistants cost time and money. They never correctly diagnosed my condition or correctly determined a course of treatment and I still needed to see a licensed doctor to receive appropriate treatment. This is not necessarily a knock on the PA -- my condition tends to be more complex than average and I should have been referred only to a medical doctor for that reason alone. 10. Their patient portal has changed several times over 4 years and just does not work well. It's not worth the effort of figuring out how to do whatever the latest version demands when it will soon be replaced by yet another version. 11. If you check in online via a link sent to your phone for your appointment, you have to always fill out the same long form even if you filled it out 3x already that week. 12. If you fill out required online forms through your phone check-in, you do not have give the ability to save a copy of anything you have filled out or signed electronically, and you can't see the totality of what you have signed off on. You sign that you received a document but it not emailed or otherwise provided to you. You are, for the most part, signing blind. 13. In-office visit wait times are usually reasonable--generally under 30 min. Radiology at Rock Hill is good.

After reading the many reviews of this facility, I decided to write one of my own. I don't agree…read morewith many of the one star reviews I read here so I'm giving it a 5, just to boost its score a bit. But my true assessment is 4 stars. I think people in duress can be so unfair in their assessments, and this place served my husband and I well twice in just this past week. Both times we came through ER. My husband ended up getting admitted and stayed over night. The staff were fast, efficient, and kind. Again, not 1-star quality at all. Very good care. A woman writing a review about her husband's mental health should probably message her congressional representatives for better mental healthcare in NY state. This state IS a mess but that is not Garnett Health's fault. I'm reading between the lines but it sounds like her husband's pneumonia may have triggered his ongoing mental health issues and once that was cleared up there was no need to admit him. Someone else complaining of a panic attack but unable to patiently wait for the staff to see her really should not be writing a one star review. And yet another review mentions neglectful landscaping on the premises which is simply not true. The lawn was mowed, and I thought the drive up to the parking lot was pretty! It's clean here. They accurately set our expectations as far as how long we would wait, what time our scans would be done etc. I had seen bad reviews online of this facility before and thought, damn, I'll never go there. But as I said, I had two occasions this week that necessitated a true ER, not an urgent care center. This place met our needs and in my opinion does not deserve the crappy reputation it has garnered (ha, pun intended).
