Of course it's not in a terrific location, but it's mostly clean and safe. Lots of busses to get onto from here. There's a large area for shelter while waiting for one. A better than expected location, and it's usually pretty fast coming or going. It serves the Orange Line. The station is located in Gage Park. Even though it has a bad history, it's still an improving area. This is at 49th and Western. Best about this is how fast it is to get through here. This is the one that goes all the way to Midway, the other Chicago airport that gets unappreciated. Getting there is a lot faster. Stops like this are one of the reasons. It has fewer, meaning the trains come a lot more often. This station is pretty clean for as busy as it gets, and it doesn't have a bad smell. Getting to Midway is convenient from here. It's only a few stops away, and if you're getting off here there's lots of busses to take you places. There's usually not a long wait for trains.

This morning however I took it to catch my flight to Midway. Why was I impressed? The train was clean (relatively speaking), b.o. free, and it didn't hit any notable slow zones. It was fairly empty when I rode it, but I think that's because all sensible people were in bed getting some shut eye. I reserve the right to change my opinion in the future, I mean it is the CTA and all. This ride could've been an anomaly. We'll see how I feel on my return ride home.

We took Cermak-McCormick after visiting the Blues Heaven Foundation a few blocks away. We were headed to Chicago Music Exchange on N Lincoln. Our route was Cermak-McCormick to Clark/Lake, where we transferred to the Brown line for the Paulina train stop. We were at the train station on a hot summer day, but fortunately there was some breeze on the first/street level of the station. There was a few spots to hide from the sun on the platform. The station is clean and is clearly video monitored. Plus, there are some cool cartoon illustrations to checkout on the platform while waiting for your train.

I walk through CTA Kedzie area often whether it be walking to the fitness center (Breakthrough…read moreFamilyPlex) or catching the CTA train itself. From what I have noticed it is actually safe, but that does not mean that I would not keep alert while in it even as an African American. CTA Kedzie is one of the high traffic areas in East Garfield Park due to everyone coming in-and-out, and also because of the liqa sto (One Eleven Food & Liquors) being posted about 100 meters from the station. I'm crossing my fingers that 'One Eleven Food & Liquors' gets torn down and becomes the parking lot for 'The Hatchery' once 'The Hatchery' has been completed, but that's a whole different topic. However, if you have ever been to this area you will understand what type of traffic it brings. The worst you will encounter in this area are drunks, druggies and drug dealers which stems from the liqa sto being a hit, but other than that it is just people trying to carry out their day whether that be going to school, work, or home via the train or bus. At night the traffic calms down, but that does not mean you stop being alert because it is pretty dark in this area once you get off that train and exit the CTA stop itself. Thomas G

It's a great stop in the midst of a neighborhood of people trying to do the best they can with that they were given. It is a crossroads of kids coming from and going to school, with a few restaurants thrown in the mix. It's actually a very safe area and there is a Garfield Outdoor Market on the south-eastern corner of the street on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings that has great produce. It's in the location of the soon-to-be-built "Hatchery", which is a food service small business incubator that has some very substantial community resource behind it.

There's a lot of cool ethnic restaurants. Good place to check out some places to eat around here. It serves the Pink Line. This is in the happening neighborhood known as Pilsen. Close to here is Douglass Park and a few others. There's also plenty of Mexican restaurants. It's pretty quiet for a station, compared to others, but it's clean. The trains seem like they take a little while longer between but it's not that long of a time to be honest. Here in the actual station there's also a convenience counter. In case you need to get anything, you can get it from here. This has some overpriced drinks and snacks.

They have ghost buses that show on the app until they are scheduled to arrive and then they…read moredisappear. Then you are forced to wait for the next one in hopes that it shows: the buses are dirty and riders are allowed to smoke and play their phones at high volume. The drivers do nothing to enforce the rules. And about once a month to every other month you get a rude driver who will talk to you like you are dirt. A change in management is needed.

I like how easy it is to get to places from here. It serves the Blue Line. This is a good stop. Many bars and restaurants are right outside. The tourist attractions are pretty close too. Also you can go all the way to O'Hare from here. The best thing is the friendliness and helpfulness of CTA staff. Good place to get off at. It also isn't as crowded. The trains usually come often and on time.

A reliable way to get from Madison WI to Chicago IL. There are two stops/pick ups in Madison -…read moreDutch Mill Park & Ride or Chazen Museum/UW-Madison. Buses run at least every 1.5 to 2h during the day, and for late riders, there's a ~2am and ~5am ride. I personally find the ride to ORD rather reasonable at 3 hours. Gets a little long to go to downtown Amtrak station (3.5h) and almost unbearable to MDW (4h). If you ever need to go to MDW and have an extra hour to spare. Save yourself $8 and take the orange line (3 blocks from Amtrak station) for only $2! Go grab some food along the way, and stretch your leg. I use the money I saved to get some food! If you're a UW student or alumni, the tickets are $23 instead of $30 one way. Buy the tickets from Memorial Union ahead of time! Otherwise, you can get your tickets online, or pay with cash on the bus. I recently had Mark Stavins as my driver. He was great with instructions, and made sure we knew what to look out for on the ride!

I said "no, actually it's not." and he said "so call the cops then." I did, and then he informed he that he was leaving like he was doing me a favor and hadn't just caused me and other people to miss the bus multiple times. there is no reason whatsoever for a private charter to use a public transportation stop as a parking space, let alone with that level of entitlement.
