5 stars all the way!
1. First, Gardner Bees is an awesome farm! I just made my 3rd drive to visit the farm in person. It's around 2 hours from the Twin Cities. If you love honey, you have to check them out. Of course, it's far easier to order on-line and have products mailed to your home. If you're buying bulk, however, it makes a lot more sense to pick it up in person because honey is HEAVY, way heavier than water. Honey is around 12 pounds per gallon (depending on the variety of honey), water is a little over 8 pounds per gallon.
They sell several seasonable varieties of honey (small orders or large bulk orders), small sample packs of different honey cultivars (wild flower, buckwheat, basswood, cooked "melter honey"), clamshells with honey in the wax comb, and bee wax itself. As an interesting side note for all you foodies out there, Gardner Bees supplies all of the honey for White Bear Meadery in White Bear Lake, MN. If you've never been there before, I highly recommend checking them out too.
2. Second, Gardner Bees is a large, serious, working farm. In addition to honey bees, they raise sheep and apples. You definitely need to call in advance and make an appointment if you plan to visit in person. Please don't show up on the farm without notice.
Thumbs up!
